"Sizzz! Zizizi..."
The secret room that had just fallen into darkness lit up again.
Raiden Ei condensed a ball of purple lightning in her palm and threw it towards the floor of the secret room. The purple lightning instantly struck the floor.
"Bang!"
The floor struck by the lightning instantly shattered into pieces, but it did not affect the other floorboards. This power was still quite limited.
Raiden Ei savored the feeling of using the Goro Goro no Mi just now and spoke with some uncertainty: "I shouldn't think like that. After all, I just ate the Devil Fruit and don't understand it yet. I can't jump to such conclusions.
To find out how to recover Elemental Power, I need to become stronger. That way, even if I can't recover Elemental Power in the future, I won't have to fear anyone.
I should focus on developing the Goro Goro no Mi first, and then think about how to recover Elemental Power.
The purpose of coming here has been achieved. There's no need to stay here, lest more trouble comes knocking tomorrow. I'll find a place to experiment with the Goro Goro no Mi's abilities first."
Raiden Ei's body instantly turned elemental, transforming into a mass of purple lightning hovering on the statue's palm, emitting a "zizi" sound.
The feeling of elementalization was quite marvelous, as if she were a bolt of lightning—she could go wherever she wanted, strike whomever she wished, and absolutely no one could stop her.
Raiden Ei, while elementalized, did not linger. She rushed towards the top of the secret room with full force, instantly piercing through the ceiling and reaching the ground, blasting a large hole that made a sound loud enough for the entire town to hear.
"Bang!"
The lightning that Raiden Ei had transformed into shot towards the sky at an extremely fast speed, trailing a huge "boom." Midway through the air, it suddenly curved, turning towards the direction of the forest.
The people in the town, asleep in their dreams, were startled awake by the massive sound and hurriedly got up to check what had happened.
However, by the time they reached the source of the loud noise, Raiden Ei had long since vanished. All that remained at the scene was a dilapidated secret room and a large hole leading straight down to it.
"Sizzz!"
Raiden Ei retracted her elementalized state and descended from the sky into the forest. The speed of the Goro Goro no Mi was indeed very fast; it only took a few breaths to cross half the island.
She stood on a branch of a giant tree and looked at the surrounding environment. Giant trees stood tall, and dense branches obscured the moon in the sky.
Conversely, the ground here received no sunlight and nothing grew except for some moss. These giant trees were also spaced far apart, leaving the area quite open.
She felt this place was excellent, perfect for familiarizing herself with the Goro Goro no Mi. Moreover, this was already deep within the forest, so any major commotion wouldn't attract attention.
"Right here!"
Raiden Ei jumped from the tree to the ground, deciding to practice the newly acquired ability here. She needed to master this power proficiently at the very least.
...
Dawn was faintly breaking, and wisps of fragmented sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves, shining upon the pitted and uneven ground.
"Sizzz!"
A bolt of lightning shuttled back and forth between the trees, but it always turned sharply just before hitting a large tree, as if practicing extreme evasion.
After a while, Raiden Ei withdrew her elementalization and stood firm on the ground. Looking at the somewhat ravaged ground around her, the corners of her mouth curved slightly; she was in a good mood and prepared to leave this place.
With her experience in using lightning from her memories, she spent less than one night familiarizing herself with all the abilities of the Goro Goro no Mi.
For instance, she could freely elementalize, control the magnitude of the lightning's power, and create a large-area electrical field to instantly teleport within it.
However, she couldn't control the magnetic force within the electrical field yet; she could only develop that slowly later. Given her level in physical sciences, who knows how long that would take.
Using the Goro Goro no Mi's abilities for combat now was certainly not an issue, but the offensive methods available were too few, the power wasn't overwhelmingly strong, and none of them were top-tier. They might not have a very good effect against the strong figures on the high seas.
Now that her objective in Birka had been achieved, Raiden Ei prepared to depart: "I'll stop by Janice's place first! Then I'll head to Upper Yard. That way, the mission to the Sky Island will be complete."
Her figure elementalized into a streak of lightning and headed towards the island where Janice was located. The speed of the lightning was extremely fast; in just an instant, she shot out of the forest and headed towards the white sea of clouds.
As for Birka, it was no longer her concern. Whether Enel could become the God of the Sky Island had become an unknown variable the moment she arrived.
The speed of the Goro Goro no Mi was much faster than when she used Geppo. The purple lightning pierced through the sky, and in less than three minutes total, she arrived at the island where she had previously met Janice.
"Sizzz!"
Raiden Ei landed directly outside the village. Due to her excessive speed, she hadn't attracted the attention of the villagers. She observed the surrounding environment from the outside.
"This is the village where Janice lives. It's so small! There must be less than a hundred people in the village!"
She walked toward the village, but it seemed Janice hadn't told her where her house was. Had she forgotten?
But she still had a way. Her Observation Haki instantly enveloped the entire island, and she immediately knew Janice's location. She walked towards her.
It was morning, the sun was just rising, and many men, women, and children in the village were strolling around the island. Seeing Raiden Ei, they all looked towards her.
An Old Woman, who was walking along a cloud path, saw Raiden Ei approaching her head-on. She stopped her steps and stared at her with confusion in her eyes.
As Raiden Ei walked past her, the Old Woman couldn't help but speak. She called out to her in a somewhat hoarse voice: "Miss, who are you? What are you doing here?"
When Raiden Ei saw this Old Woman stop in front of her, she sensed that the woman would ask her a question. Sure enough, just as she was about to pass by, the woman spoke.
Raiden Ei had no choice but to stop and turn to look at her, replying neither subserviently nor arrogantly, speaking politely: "I'm here to find someone. Is there something you need?"
The Old Woman seemed puzzled. She hadn't seen her on the island before!
Did she know someone from outside?
Seeing that the person opposite was alone and didn't seem malicious, she figured she wasn't someone with ill intent, so she had nothing more to say. She smiled at Raiden Ei and said:
"Hehe, who are you looking for? The Old Woman has lived in this village for most of her life. I know everyone on this island; I can help you see where they are."
Raiden Ei had already located Janice through Observation Haki, so asking for directions from the other person was unnecessary. She directly declined: "I'm looking for Janice, and I already know where she is. Thank you."
