Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: The Tavern

"Can you make the decisions here?"

"Uh... no, do you need to see the boss? You can tell me what it is," said the waiter.

Raiden Ei didn't care who could help her buy a log pose. She looked around and felt that this place wasn't very suitable for stating her needs: "Yes, it's not very convenient here."

Before the waiter could speak, two big men nearby saw that it was just a woman wearing a cloak and wanted to see what she looked like, so they interrupted directly.

"Hahaha, what's inconvenient about this place? We're all people who mix in these circles. Just tell us, and let everyone here help you decide."

The waiter, like everyone else, saw that she was just a thin, small woman who didn't dare show her face, and didn't want to pay attention to her. Now that someone had spoken up, he just watched coldly from the side, treating Raiden Ei as a joke.

The other people in the tavern also heard the big men talking. Everyone here had been drinking, making them very bold. Also, this place was full of big men, and very few women would come here. They also started staring at her with greedy eyes and began to mock her wantonly.

"Hahaha, exactly, exactly! There's nothing we can't do in Loguetown."

"Just say it here, woman! Let everyone give you some advice."

"Why don't you come with Brother? Whatever you want, I'll find it for you!"

Raiden Ei listened to the voices around her, all rambling nonsense. She restrained herself from acting immediately. She planned to ask clearly before dealing with these people. Ignoring their heckling, she looked at the waiter.

"Are you really not going to take me to see your boss?"

The waiter looked disdainful: "Someone who doesn't even dare to show her face? How could I let you see the boss? My boss is very busy."

The big man who had instigated the conversation nearby became a little angry when Raiden Ei ignored him. She was just a woman, yet she dared to ignore him right in front of him. Did she think too little of him?

What kind of woman didn't he have access to! Just hearing her voice suggested she was somewhat attractive, and she dared to treat him as nothing, right? He picked up a bottle of wine and smashed it on the floor with a "bang."

"Bastard, I'm giving you face by talking to you. Don't mistake kindness for weakness! You don't even dare to show your face. Take off your cloak. As long as you come with me, I'll consider this matter settled."

Raiden Ei saw that the situation had reached a point where it couldn't be resolved without action. She didn't originally want to cause any trouble in Loguetown and attract the attention of the Marines. But now that someone was looking for death, what choice did she have? At worst, she'd give up on the log pose; she believed she could survive on the Grand Line.

"Forget it. Remember what you said. If you don't help me accomplish this, then none of you are leaving here."

"You dare to ignore me, woman!"

Seeing that Raiden Ei had no intention of paying him any mind, the big man reached out his large hand directly toward the cloak. He didn't believe he couldn't handle a mere woman.

"You're asking for death!"

The demon blade hanging at her waist was instantly grasped in her hand. With a "clang," a flash of blade light swept past, completely severing the big man's legs. "Aaaah! My legs!" He fell to the ground, writhing and screaming, retracting the hand that had reached out to grab the cloak, clutching his profusely bleeding wound.

The surroundings instantly fell silent. Looking at the Musou Isshin held by the woman, the blade light had sobered up half the drunks, and the atmosphere suddenly became extremely oppressive. They were finally scared now, and some tried to walk toward the tavern door.

"Before my business is concluded, whoever dares to step out of the tavern door will die just like him!"

They silently pulled back the feet they had extended. It was too late to regret it now; who told them to kick an iron plate?

"Who knows where there is a log pose leading to the Grand Line? If you don't know, you will all die here today! I'll give you five minutes. If no one can answer, then die!"

The people inside the tavern were truly terrified. It wasn't that they didn't want to resist; it was that the aura emanating from the opponent was too strong, making it impossible for them to muster any will to fight back.

"Hey! Old ghost, aren't you known as the know-it-all of the East Blue? Do you know where that log pose is?"

"You believe what I say? I was just bragging to you all! Just bragging! How would I know where that log pose is located?"

"What? You dare to lie to us? Then what you said about the story of a superhuman hundreds of meters tall fighting a monster hundreds of meters tall on the high seas—is that also fake?"

...Raiden Ei looked at the waiter, who was also a big man. At this moment, he completely lacked the disdain he showed her earlier, and sweat was constantly pouring from his forehead out of fear.

"Do you know where there is a log pose leading to the Grand Line?"

"Th-this, I don't know. M-maybe my boss knows.", the waiter said with some uncertainty.

"Then where is your boss?"

"My boss is upstairs. I'll go call him down, is that okay?"

"Go! I'll wait here. Don't even think about escaping; my blade is very fast."

"Yes, yes, yes, I won't run away."

The waiter hurriedly ran towards the staircase leading to the backyard.

Raiden Ei turned to look at the drunks in front of her. They were all whispering, discussing where to find a log pose for the Grand Line.

Some were very bold, thinking they had some skill, and that the woman just relied on surprise; she surely had no other abilities.

The three brothers picked up their weapons and stood up from their chairs, walking toward Raiden Ei. They completely disregarded what she had said, still looking at her with greedy eyes.

"Hey, woman, don't be too arrogant. I kill eight people like you in a month.", the leader of the three brothers spoke first, repeatedly tapping his mace against his hand.

"Hahaha, the last time I met someone like you was three days ago. Guess what happened to him?"

"I guess he died easily."

"Wrong! How could I let him die so easily! I tortured him for a full three hours before letting him die, hahaha!"

"Wow! You are so cruel!"

The remaining two brothers played along, just like an act in a play, trying their best to show Raiden Ei how difficult they were to mess with, implying she should surrender if she didn't want to die.

"Are you done talking? Then say goodbye to this world!"

Raiden Ei swung the hand holding the demon blade. With a "swish," a slash flew towards the three brothers at extreme speed. The tavern wasn't very large, and the three were very close together. In an instant, the three, who hadn't even had time to react, were decapitated, their heads flying high, their faces frozen in expressions of terror.

The slash continued towards the crowd behind them. They all stared with wide eyes, watching the slash approach them, and some even screamed out loud.

"Aaaah, don't kill me, I'll talk, I'll talk!"

Raiden Ei naturally wouldn't kill them all. She had controlled her strength; she just wanted to scare them, and the current situation seemed quite effective.

Since fighting Sengoku, she had gained a deeper understanding of combat, allowing her to fight more calmly and skillfully now.
