Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Discovery of Pirates

Seeing Raiden Ei like this, the pirates no longer dared to look at her with the same eyes; their legs were trembling. Those who had never seen such a grand scene found it difficult to remain calm under her imposing aura.

Shan Xi, as the Captain, naturally had seen more of the world than his subordinates. The powerful oppressive feeling emanating from that woman was even stronger than the great pirates he had encountered at pirate gatherings—those were the great pirates who dominated the East Blue, far more terrifying than a small pirate like him.

Shan Xi swallowed his saliva and nervously asked, "Milady, do you have any orders?"

Raiden Ei spoke in a commanding tone, "How many years have you been pirates? Has anything major happened in the East Blue recently?"

Shan Xi dared not lie, "I have been at sea for two years. Recently in the East Blue, Marine Vice Admiral Garp returned and captured Santana and the Silver Axe Pirate Crew, looting Vinia Island. Nothing else much has happened."

Raiden Ei seemed somewhat dissatisfied, "Only this?"

Shan Xi... Aren't these major events? I picked the biggest ones to tell you! "That's all. Those are the major events reported in the newspapers. As a small pirate, I don't know anything else."

Raiden Ei realized this was likely the so-called lower-tier pirates: "How do you survive out here on the great seas?"

Shan Xi watched Raiden Ei's expression, "Milady, pirates go to sea for the Great Treasure. Normally, we search for treasure on the sea and rob passing ships."

Raiden Ei's expression didn't change at all, "What else? Dare to lie to me and I'll kill you and throw you to the fish in the sea."

Shan Xi hesitated to continue. These people were on a pirate ship, yet they didn't seem like pirates: "There's also... also robbing some villages."

Raiden Ei felt no anger hearing such things. In this world dominated by pirates, ordinary people must suffer misfortune. She wasn't some saint either, "Robbing? Not slaughtering them all, or capturing people to sell as slaves?"

Shan Xi looked at Raiden Ei's increasingly strong aura and was about to cry, "No, absolutely not! Those are things done by vicious, wicked great pirates. Small pirates like us would never do such things."

Raiden Ei saw the man was about to cry and retracted the Conqueror's Haki she had just released, "Enough, you all stay here for now! We will let you go when the time comes."

Raiden Ei turned and walked back to the ship's railing, watching the receding seawater. She hadn't gained any useful information; everything was stuff she could read in the newspapers. It seemed there was a clear division among pirates.

She stopped thinking about other things. Future matters could wait. Cultivation was the priority now. It wasn't realistic to max out her level with energy right now. It was faster to cultivate Armament Haki and Observation Haki herself, leaving the energy for her physique and Conqueror's Haki.

Time passed as Raiden Ei cultivated and they sailed.

Geer lay on the deck resting. She had already exercised her body for an entire afternoon and now felt completely exhausted, but she needed to get up and clean herself up.

Geer stood up from the deck and dragged her tired body toward the cabin, suddenly noticing a small black dot. She had no experience on the great sea and didn't know what it was.

Geer walked up to Haisier, "Uncle Haisier, there's a small black dot over there, what do you think it is?"

Haisier looked up and wiped away sweat, "Alright, let me see." He put down his tools and looked in the direction Geer pointed, but couldn't make out what it was.

"Your eyesight is really good. I couldn't tell what it was either. Go do your own thing. It won't be too late to look when we get closer.", Geer could only agree and walked toward the cabin.

Haisier was the oldest among their group and the most experienced. He knew how dangerous the great sea was and dared not be careless. He walked toward where Gatt was.

Gatt wasn't surprised to see Haisier arrive. On this ship, only the two of them were in charge; everyone else did whatever they pleased. It was normal for Haisier to seek him out if something was up.

"Haisier, what is it?"

"Can't I come find you if nothing is wrong? How is it going? Is the voyage not going smoothly?"

"It's fine. Hmm, according to the sea chart, I have found the route. We should reach Dokabaka Island in less than three days."

"Sigh... Finally, we don't have to drift on this great sea anymore. I never thought I'd end up out on the sea."

"Isn't the great sea okay? After this experience, I feel like I could even Captain a ship out to sea now."

"Haha, it's too dangerous on the great sea. Without power like Raiden Ei's, we would have died countless times."

"That's right! Power is the capital to run rampant in this world."

"Enough about that. Geer saw a small dot over there earlier, but it was too far to see clearly. Keep an eye on it," Haisier pointed in the direction to Gatt.

Gatt looked where Haisier was pointing; there was indeed a small dot, "Okay, I got it. It should be an island or a ship or something."

Haisier finished what he needed to say and left, "Then I'll head back. There are still many places that need repairs."

Gatt continued observing the small dot and didn't pay attention to him. As the ship sailed closer to the small dot, he finally managed to see what it was clearly.

It was a pirate ship. It was still too far to see which Pirate Crew it belonged to, but this immediately put him on high alert. He needed to notify everyone on the ship right away; pirates were not people to be trifled with.

Just as Gatt clearly saw the pirate ship, the pirates on the other side also spotted them. Pirates were like cats seeing mice; once they spotted them, they charged straight toward them.

Gatt shouted while walking, "Spotted a pirate ship! Everyone, get ready!" He quickly walked toward Raiden Ei. There was no other choice; she was the strongest here, and only she could handle this matter.

Raiden Ei exited her meditative state and looked at the slightly panicked Gatt, "How many pirates are there to make you this urgent?"

Gatt paused, realizing that the pirates were still far away, and Raiden Ei was here. There was no need to worry. He adjusted his mentality, "Miss Shogun, we spotted a pirate ship ahead sailing toward us. Do you want to eliminate them?"

Raiden Ei didn't answer Gatt, "Lead the way!"

Seeing that Raiden Ei only told him to lead the way and didn't answer, Gatt had no choice but to walk ahead and guide her.

At this moment, everyone on the entire ship knew that a pirate ship had been spotted approaching them. They all stood on the deck, as if waiting for an order.

Shan Xi and the others were still tied under the mast. They also knew a pirate ship was coming and were curious which Pirate Crew it was, and whether they could destroy the current group so they could join them.

Geer had already finished cleaning herself. She had been resting in the cabin, but upon hearing Gatt's announcement, she immediately ran toward the deck. She found Mina also in the cabin and quickly pulled her along, "Mina, didn't you hear Gatt calling out? Hurry up, there are pirates!"
