Chapter 12: Continuous Monthly Subscription (First Month Special)
So, after much persuasion and explanation to Asmodeus that she might find a way out, Lilith officially began her 'battle' with the mobile phone APP.
"AI, are you there?"
"I'm currently trapped in a sealing array called Ragnarok, located in the ninth underground floor of a maze. Do you have any way to help me find the source of the seal?"
[Okay, scanning the host's current environment...]
[Environment analysis: High-level composite magic closed-loop space]
[Answer: The host's current perception ability cannot directly observe hidden magic nodes. It is recommended to use auxiliary tools.]
[Recommended solution: Download and install the 'Magic Detector APP'. This application can accurately detect and locate any form of magic source within a ten-kilometer radius.]
"magic power detector?"
Seeing that the AI on the phone really provided a solution, Lilith's eyes lit up.
"There's such a thing? As expected of a phone given by a goddess!"
So she quickly returned to the main interface and, sure enough, found an APP with a radar icon in the corner of the second page, with [magic power detector] written below it.
"Saved!"
She excitedly reached out her finger and tapped it hard.
However.
The moment the icon was clicked, a blood pressure-spiking pop-up window jumped out:
[New version 6.44 found]
[Update log: Fixed several known bugs, optimized user experience, added 'Love Brainwave' detection function]
[Update now? (Yes/No)]
"..."
Looking at this string of familiar yet unfamiliar text on the screen, Lilith's mouth twitched, and the veins on her forehead slightly bulged.
"Up... update your ass!"
"I've already crossed over to another world! Struggling to survive in a dungeon! And almost got pushed down by a Demon Lord! Why am I still being harassed by such pop-ups?"
She indignantly moved her finger toward the small "No" character and stabbed it hard.
[Ding!]
An emotionless prompt box popped up on the screen again:
[Sorry, your version is too low and cannot support the current service. For your user experience, please update and try logging in again.]
There was only one option:
[Update now].
"I damn..."
"So I can't use it without updating? Rogue software! Then why the hell did you even ask me!"
Lilith was completely helpless.
Looking at that forced button, even though she was filled with anger, she could only grit her teeth and compromise.
"Fine, fine, you win!"
She helplessly clicked update.
Fortunately, although trapped in a sealed dungeon, the 'internet speed' of the divine artifact was ridiculously fast. The progress bar'swished' and finished in an instant.
The APP automatically restarted.
[Welcome to magic power detector—Your personal magic guide.]
Accompanied by a flashy splash screen ad, the interface finally loaded.
However, before Lilith could be happy for even a second, a huge poster popped up in the center of the screen:
[Dear trial user, hello!]
[You currently enjoy 15 minutes of free trial time. To unlock 'High-precision positioning' and 'Unlimited duration', please subscribe to a membership.]
Below were two recharge options:
[Single-month membership: 25 system coins/month]
[Continuous monthly subscription (first month special): 15 system coins/month]
"I damn!"
Hardened.
This time, her fist was really hardened!
Lilith's fingers gripping the phone turned white, the force so great it almost seemed like she could crush the thing.
"Which Tencent company developed this system! So damn greedy for money!"
"And I'm in another world! Damn another world! Why does another world still have continuous monthly subscriptions!"
Although she was cursing with immense resentment in her heart, she had no choice but to use this function right now.
Lilith glanced at her newly acquired small fortune of five thousand, then looked at the 10-coin price difference... Three seconds later.
She silently clicked *[Continuous monthly subscription]*.
No choice, save where you can, spend where you must. Saving 10 coins is still 10 coins.
[Ding! Payment successful. Membership benefits are now active.]
Finally, that damn APP could be used normally.
"Done yet?"
Asmodeus, behind her, watched Lilith randomly tapping on that little black box, her expression changing from fierce to helpless, then from helpless to pained, and couldn't help but ask.
To this, the utterly lifeless Lilith could only take a deep breath, adjust her mindset, turn around, and wave her hand:
"Don't rush, don't rush, it'll be ready soon~ This is the drawback of high-level magical artifacts, they're a bit troublesome to operate. Just wait a bit more, Demon Lord!"
"Mm, okay."
Asmodeus nodded patiently, so Lilith continued operating.
After subscribing to the membership, the magic power detector's interface indeed looked much more professional, popping up many options:
[Please select the type of magic you wish to detect:]
[1. Life Magic]
[2. Natural Elements]
[3. Killing Intent/Malice]
[4. Curses/Negative Statuses]
[5. Seals/Barrier Structures]
[6. Love/Hormones (New!)]
[7...]
...There were actually over a dozen options, but Lilith wasn't interested in looking through them all, since the option she wanted had appeared.
"There really is a seal option?"
Lilith decisively clicked *[5. Seals/Barrier Structures]*.
The screen interface instantly changed, becoming something like an old-fashioned multimeter or Geiger counter—on the left, a red pointer was trembling slightly, with a line of small text above it:
[Point the top of the device toward the magic source direction. The pointer will shift to the right and vibrate.]
"That's it?"
Lilith blinked, holding the phone, and slowly turned in place like a feng shui master.
When she turned toward an extremely inconspicuous, even somewhat collapsed, remote path on the left side of the maze—
Buzz—!!
The phone vibrated slightly, and the red pointer on the screen "whooshed" all the way to the far right red zone, even shaking wildly as if about to max out.
"Ah! Over there!"
Lilith's eyes lit up, her face full of excitement as she raised her arm, her fair arm forcefully pointing toward that pitch-black path:
"Lord, Lord! It's right over there! The reaction is super strong!"
"Hmm?"
Asmodeus looked in the direction she pointed, raising a skeptical eyebrow:
"Really? I've walked that path before. It's twisty and troublesome, I almost couldn't find my way back. Are you sure it's there?"
"Hmph! You think!"
Seeing the Demon Lord's doubt, Lilith immediately got energized:
She put her hands on her hips, puffed out her soft, proud chest, slightly raised her chin, and said with a face full of pride:
"This is a divine artifact from the Succubus homeland! With it, there's nothing that can't be done! Just watch!"
As she spoke, Lilith also curled the corner of her mouth into a charming, cute curve.
Looking at her proud little appearance, her snow-white hair swaying slightly with her movements, her cheeks flushed with excitement, she looked exactly like a little cat seeking praise.
Asmodeus's crimson eyes flickered slightly.
The next second.
He suddenly leaned down, reached out, gently pinched Lilith's chin, then without warning leaned over and kissed her on the cheek.
Smack~
The sound was crisp and loud in the silent maze.
Lilith's proud expression instantly froze on her face.
"Huh?!"
She seemed to suddenly bristle, abruptly raising her hand, covering the kissed side of her face, and jumped back a big step in panic:
"You... what are you doing?!"
To this, Asmodeus straightened up and replied calmly and matter-of-factly:
"I don't know either."
"I just thought your proud and delighted look just now was very cute, and suddenly wanted to do this."
After saying this, he acted as if nothing had happened, waving his hand casually to reassure her:
"Alright, enough nonsense. Go lead the way ahead."
"..."
Hearing this, the dumbfounded Lilith stood in place, her face red like a ripe tomato.
"Scum... scumbag! Bastard!"
"This guy... this guy completely treats me like a maid he can order around as he pleases, actually kissing whenever he wants!"
"Ugh! So angry! Taking advantage of me when I'm not paying attention to humiliate me! Damn damn damn damn! Kill you kill you kill you kill you!"
Lilith gritted her teeth angrily in her heart, imagining Asmodeus being sliced to pieces ten thousand times!
But remembering that she still needed his help to break the seal, she could only endure the humiliation.
So, Lilith walked ahead with a classic cat-like pouty face, still secretly gritting her teeth in her heart:
"I'll deal with you sooner or later!"
"Once I get out, I'll definitely make you pay!"
Cursing like this in her heart, Lilith held up the phone and led the way ahead.
The scene after that was simple—
"Left... straight... then right..."
The two of them wound left and right through the intricate maze.
After about ten minutes.
"We're here!"
Lilith stopped.
However, what lay before them wasn't any glowing magic circle or core crystal.
Only a black rock wall covered in moss, damp and wet.
It was a dead end.
"Huh? Why is it a dead end?"
The belatedly realizing Lilith blinked in surprise, then shook the phone, thinking this damn APP had frozen or the phone was broken.
But on the screen, the detector's red pointer was still firmly pressed to the far right, showing that the seal magic concentration here had maxed out.
"Strange... Did the unscrupulous merchant scam me?"
Lilith began to doubt her life.
But just then, Asmodeus stepped past her and walked forward a few steps.
He extended his slender, pale hand, gently pressed it against the seemingly ordinary rock wall, closed his eyes, and felt for a moment.
Buzz.
An invisible ripple spread from his palm.
Immediately after, Asmodeus suddenly opened his eyes, his expression turning cold:
"No, Little Meow, your magical artifact is not the problem."
"This is the place."
