Chapter 12 - The Silence of Time

Time itself froze.

The multiverse held its breath. Stars hung motionless in the void, fragments of broken worlds suspended mid-collapse. Even Arkham Asylum's avatars, massive crystalline shards infused with godhead energy, paused as if reality itself obeyed a new law.

Stojian stood on a jagged fragment, void energy coiling violently around him. His green eye glowed brightly, cutting through the frozen shadows. Around him, Adam, Gi Hun, Chronicle Lord, Evershift, and Arbiter hovered in perfect stillness, their expressions unreadable but focused.

"This… this is the power of the Void," Stojian whispered, voice calm yet reverberating unnaturally. Shadows stretched outward like living serpents, latching onto every floating fragment. "I've bent reality, warped existence, but stopping time… is something else entirely."

Adam's voice echoed in the frozen void. "We can move? But nothing else does?"

"Yes," Stojian replied, his hood casting shadows across his face. "We're outside the flow. Every strike, every movement… I can orchestrate it. For a moment, the Vessel cannot react."

Evershift's fluid form shimmered. "This… is perfect for strategy. We can coordinate without the Vessel adapting in real-time."

Arbiter's dark crystal armor hummed softly. "But stopping time is taxing. How long can you maintain it?"

Stojian's green eye narrowed. "Not long. Only enough to plan, communicate, and execute the first phase of our strike." He raised a hand, shadows spiraling, forming intricate patterns in the frozen void. "We have to move carefully. One wrong action, and even outside time, the consequences could cascade."

Chronicle Lord stepped forward, manipulating threads of frozen probability. "I can read the Vessel's flow, anticipate residual energy reactions even in stasis. We can synchronize attacks perfectly."

Stojian nodded. "Good. Now… the cameos."

Adam and Gi Hun tensed slightly, recognizing familiar presences emerging from the frozen fragments. Figures long absent from the battlefield — old allies, entities Stojian had crossed paths with in the Conceptual Nexus — materialized.

Stogainaf's residual presence shimmered faintly, watching silently. Even in his erased state, traces of godhead remained, guiding the allies.

"I never thought I'd see you again," Stojian murmured, shadows coiling tighter. "But we need every edge we can get. The Vessel… Arkham… is beyond impossible."

Stogainaf's essence pulsed faintly. "I cannot fight directly, Stojian. My core is shattered, erased by the Vessel. But I can lend perception, guidance… show you where cracks exist, where instability lingers."

Evershift's form shifted, absorbing the faint energy trails. "We can follow those trails to strike effectively. Even the smallest flaw becomes a weapon."

Arbiter raised a hand. "We need coordination. Everyone must understand the plan. Outside time, miscommunication is fatal."

Stojian's twin blades pulsed with void energy, shadows stretching outward like tentacles over the frozen fragments. "We will strike in phases. First, isolate the avatars — push them into the cracks. Second, manipulate the void to expose the core. Third… we hit the Vessel directly."

Adam's blade shimmered. "Even outside time, the avatars will sense pressure. Can they react?"

"Only partially," Stojian replied. "Their godhead-infused energy is frozen in perception, but traces of residual flow can be exploited. That's where our cameos and allies come in."

Gi Hun clenched his fists. "We act like surgeons. Precise, coordinated. No wasted motion."

Stojian's shadows coiled tightly around him. "Exactly. Outside time, every strike counts. Every movement must be intentional. We orchestrate the dance of chaos without interference from the Vessel."

Chronicle Lord's threads of frozen probability glowed faintly. "I can predict how the avatars will reform once time resumes. We'll strike at the moment they are most vulnerable."

A faint pulse reverberated through the frozen void — Arkham's awareness probing, sensing disturbance even in stasis. Stojian's green eye flared. "It knows something is coming. But it cannot react… not yet."

The allies shared silent nods. Adam, Gi Hun, Chronicle Lord, Evershift, Arbiter, and the residual essence of Stogainaf — all poised, ready. Outside time, they were united. Outside time, they had a chance.

Stojian whispered, voice low but determined: "Time may be stopped… but we will act. We will turn this frozen moment into the beginning of the Vessel's undoing."

Shadows coiled, void energy pulsed, and the frozen fragments of the multiverse seemed to vibrate in anticipation.

In the silence of halted time, Stojian and his allies prepared. The first strike against Arkham Asylum's omnipotent Vessel would begin — precise, coordinated, and unstoppable.

And when time resumed, the multiverse would shudder under the fury of the Void.
