Chapter 305: A Festival in the Leaf Village
Eternally Seventeen: HOLD ON HOLD ON HOLD ON! There's no way this humble self counts as "shameless"! Admin-sama, oppressing a pure, seventeen-year-old beauty like this—that's just plain bullying!
Eternally Seventeen: Bullying an underage girl is a crime everyone should stand against! Yes, that's right, this deserves a beating!
RawrSoFierce: You realize everything you just said proves my point exactly, right? You're objectively the single most shameless member in this entire chat, old hag.
Kaguya-sama: Loyalty-wise, I'm firmly team Yukari-nee here...but factually? I'm afraid I have to side with Admin-sama on this one.
Terrible Tornado: Yep, confirmed. Permissions Hound #3, siding with Admin's assessment.
Eternally Seventeen: Little Tornado's barely been Permissions Hound for five minutes and already sucking up to Admin? Ugh, you're supposed to look UP to me and gang up on Admin together!
[Moderator "Eternally Seventeen" has been muted for 10 minutes by Admin "RawrSoFierce"!]
Terrible Tornado: And this, right here, is exactly why I'm not modeling myself after Yukari-senpai. She's genuinely got a talent for courting disaster.
Kaguya-sama: Pfft-hahahaha, sorry, I really shouldn't be laughing this hard, but I can't help it.
RawrSoFierce: A certain youkai sage apparently wants to corrupt the other Moderators too now. Ten minutes of quiet reflection ought to do her some good.
Crazy Diamond: Hahahahahaha...yeah, same, laughing way too hard at this too.
Edward Newgate: Old me saw the mute coming a mile off. What number is this for her now—fifty? A hundred?
My True Form Is Cola: It's her 127th, actually! Cute little Umaru keeps excellent records, you know. Though I've got no data on however many times she got muted before I joined the group.
Sakura Matou: A moment of silence for Yukari-nee. ...Moment's over, time to go eat!
Roar of the Evil Dragon: Just finished cooking dinner and checked the chat, and lo and behold, Yukari-senpai's been muted again. Checked the logs—yep, brought it entirely on herself, as usual.

None of the members were even remotely surprised that Yukari, the youkai sage, had just eaten another 10-minute mute from Ryū, their Admin.
Honestly, a day where Yukari didn't get muted would've been the actual surprise, as far as this group was concerned.
The #2 Permissions Hound just had a real talent for tempting fate, constantly needling Admin at every opportunity—and Admin, who held the actual muting power, wasn't about to let that slide forever, so the mute always came, right on cue, every time.
Not that getting muted ever fazed her, of course. It took Yukari maybe a few seconds to shake off any bad mood entirely.
The moment she shook it off, she'd bounce right back to her usual lively, chaotic self.
Probably just the natural temperament of a long-lived species. In terms of emotional stability, Yukari genuinely ranked near the top of the entire chat group—nobody had ever once seen her get truly, visibly upset.
All that shouting and drama she put on in the chat was obviously just performance, an act. This youkai sage had layers upon layers of calculation running underneath the surface.
As if she'd ever let her actual feelings show that easily to anyone.
The 10-minute mute wrapped up quickly enough, and Yukari bounced right back into full chaos mode the moment it lifted.
Eternally Seventeen: Unbelievable, Admin-sama muted me AGAIN, for like the umpteenth time! UNACCEPTABLE! This humble self has written this grudge down in her little notebook. Revenge is coming, one day, mark my words!
RawrSoFierce: Genuinely curious now—how many pages does that "little notebook" of yours actually have at this point?
Eternally Seventeen: Hm, probably five or six hundred pages, give or take?
Kaguya-sama: Five or six hundred pages?! That's basically dictionary-thick at this point!
Kaguya-sama: Just how many grudges has Yukari-nee actually racked up over the years?!
Eternally Seventeen: Well...I've been around a good long while, plenty of stories accumulate over that kind of time. This grudge notebook's been with me practically since I was born.
RawrSoFierce: "A few thousand years" of grudges, huh, sure sounds about right. Truly worthy of the title "youkai sage."
Eternally Seventeen: Hey! I'm only seventeen this year, thank you very much, where's this "few thousand years" nonsense coming from? Admin-sama, don't just make stuff up!
Street-Corner Illustrator: And there she goes, shamelessly playing the "I'm only seventeen this year" card yet again.
Kaguya-sama: I mean, that's basically just a normal Tuesday for Yukari-nee at this point, lol.
Eternally Seventeen: Hmph! Not talking to any of you jerks anymore. This humble self is going into seclusion to work on her Ki sense.
Eternally Seventeen: During the whole group event, I went fishing with Admin-sama every single day trying to catch a Sea King and got literally nothing, not even a bite. So I got so mad I straight-up jumped in the ocean and caught over a dozen Sea Kings by hand instead, wasted an entire three days on it.
Eternally Seventeen: This time I'm REALLY REALLY going into seclusion for real. Logging off!
Kaguya-sama: Even though Yukari-nee says she's going into seclusion, I have a strong feeling she'll be back popping bubbles in the chat again by tonight.
My True Form Is Cola: Or maybe she'll just lurk silently, watching without posting—that's also possible, technically.
RawrSoFierce: At this point the old hag's word has basically zero credibility left...
[...]
Pulling his consciousness out of the Dimensional Chat Group, Ryū's eyes drifted to the calendar hanging on the wall. Flipping through a few pages, he suddenly froze, staring at the date.
Because the Naruto world's timeline ran on a completely different clock than the Dimensional Chat Group's own internal calendar, the group had just wrapped up its New Year's celebration—but back here in Konoha, it was still only late December.
Nine days left until January 1st. Nine days, and it'd be New Year's Day here in the Naruto world too!
The Land of Fire's own New Year's Day was, in fact, an enormously important holiday of its own—just not one called "New Year's Grand Carnival" or anything like that.
Right—according to the memories floating around in his head, the Land of Fire, home to Konoha, had been officially founded on exactly January 1st.
Which made this one of the Land of Fire's grandest annual celebrations—basically their equivalent of something like Lunar New Year.
And since Konoha was the Land of Fire's shinobi village, naturally the whole village celebrated it too.
Ryū pushed open a window he hadn't touched in a while, letting some fresh air flow through.
Gazing out at the noticeably lively streets below, he murmured to himself, "Guess things are only going to get livelier around here over the next few days. Celebrating a holiday back in the Naruto world sounds like it could be pretty fun too, honestly."
He'd just finished celebrating New Year's over in the One Piece world, and now he was about to celebrate a whole different holiday back home in Konoha...an oddly novel feeling, all things considered.
Ryū had no real objection to any of this, honestly—most holidays, at the end of the day, were just a good excuse to relax and unwind.
There'd probably be all kinds of specialty food stalls setting up soon, plus vendors hawking every kind of trinket and novelty imaginable.
