Chapter 302: The Permissions Hound's Green Hat
RawrSoFierce: @Everyone, back to business. The Dimensional Chat Group's membership, counting me and the old hag—the two Permissions Hounds—has now hit 20 people. Last time we crossed the 10-member mark, I set up one Moderator. Now we're double that, so it's time for a second one.
RawrSoFierce: That said, becoming Moderator does come with some baseline requirements. Three basics: first, you need to be a longtime member—at least 5 months in the group; second, you need a solid amount of free time; third, your strength needs to be reasonably competitive, at minimum upper-tier combat strength within the group.
Eternally Seventeen: Ooh? Another Moderator coming? Looks like this humble self is finally getting a coworker!
Eternally Seventeen: Don't worry, new Moderator, this humble self will absolutely make sure Admin-sama doesn't try anything nasty on you!
RawrSoFierce: ...nasty my ass, you're already a Moderator, quit crashing this thread for no reason.
Roar of the Evil Dragon: I think I just hit the three-month mark, actually? Shame I don't have much free time though, what with cooking for Kobayashi and Kanna every day.
I Am Thor, God of Thunder!: Same, not much free time either, woof!
Kaguya-sama: I've got plenty of free time, but my combat strength's still a few steps short of upper-tier, unfortunately.
Crazy Diamond: Us bottom-tier old-timers, shaking in our boots, zero chance whatsoever.
Little Sphere: Wait, I just realized I meet all three conditions? I'm running for Permissions Hound!
Terrible Tornado: Count me in too—I'm just barely scraping into upper-tier combat strength in this chat these days.
Edward Newgate: Gurararara, old me's not about to lose to you two either!
Ying Zheng The Sovereign: This sovereign's strength is still lacking quite a bit—probably can't even beat Kaguya. Joined a bit late and haven't taken part in many group missions, unfortunately.
Ying Zheng The Sovereign: Also busy trying to push Great Qin into a technological era, so not much spare time for chatting these days either.
My True Form Is Cola: Pushing Great Qin into a technological era?! Whew...the sheer amount of effort that must take. First Emperor, absolute legend!!
Ying Zheng The Sovereign: With Wolffy and Mr. Stark both helping out, it should only take a few decades, give or take.

So that left three longtime members actually running for the position: Whitebeard, Tatsumaki, and Wandering Earth.
All three checked every box—strength, tenure in the group, and free time, in spades.
Whitebeard was essentially semi-retired already, spending most of his time training his sons and not much else, which left him with plenty of downtime, often popping into the chat.
Tatsumaki, meanwhile, ranked #2 among the Hero Association's S-Class Heroes, and there was practically no monster left that could give her any real trouble anymore. She cleared most threats with barely any effort, leaving her plenty bored the rest of the time.
Tatsumaki's strength had genuinely skyrocketed. She'd spent a long stretch grinding in the Arena, and her growth had been nothing short of explosive.
At this point, she'd arguably even edged past Whitebeard—though obviously not in raw hand-to-hand technique, where he still had her beat.
And Wandering Earth barely needed explaining. Drifting endlessly through the void, surrounded by planets that couldn't talk back or interact with it in any way, it had gotten so bored it had started literally raising humans as a pet project. Free time-wise, it was probably the single most idle member in the entire chat group.
As for strength—well, this was a planet-scale entity that had picked up Armament Haki. Ram it into something like Mars or Venus, and whatever it hit would probably shatter to pieces, while Wandering Earth itself would come away with, at most, a few scrapes.
That kind of raw combat power was borderline terrifying by chat-group standards—its sheer size alone made it a genuinely lethal threat.
"All three candidates seem solid, honestly. Guess it really does come down to rolling dice in the end—whoever rolls highest gets the Moderator spot!"
Ryū genuinely couldn't decide between the three of them, so in the end he let them settle it with a dice roll—whoever landed the highest number would become the second Moderator.
Leaving it up to luck meant nobody would have any grounds to complain afterward. Not everyone was cursed with luck as bad as a certain youkai sage's, or a certain playboy's, after all.
Eternally Seventeen: A dice roll, huh? Genuinely a fair way to decide, sure—though "fair" doesn't exactly apply to this humble self, does it.
RawrSoFierce: ...you're not even running for Moderator. Whether it's fair to you or not is completely irrelevant here, isn't it?
Edward Newgate: A dice roll, is it? Gurararara, then old me will go first!
Edward Newgate: [Dice] Five! Gurararara, not bad at all, though a little disappointed it wasn't a six.
Little Sphere: Time to see how my luck holds up! You two Permissions overlords, please bless me here! [Dice] Pfft...a THREE, seriously?! Eeeeh!
Kaguya-sama: Little Sphere, you shouldn't have said "you two Permissions overlords"—you only needed to invoke Admin-sama. Dragging Yukari-nee into it too? No wonder your luck tanked.
Eternally Seventeen: Hey, HEY. Can my bad luck really reach across entire dimensions like that?
RawrSoFierce: Can't rule it out, honestly. Who even knows how unlucky you actually are, deep down?
Eternally Seventeen: Ugh, unbelievable—my luck was genuinely great today! I pulled 1,000 Points AND a Skill Breakthrough Card!
Terrible Tornado: [Dice] ...huh, also a five? Does that count as a tie?
Edward Newgate: Gurararara, then the two of us will just have to go again! [Dice] Four this time, luck's not looking great for old me here!
My True Form Is Cola: According to superstition, Whitebeard-ojii-sama, you really shouldn't have gone first—whoever rolls second usually wins.
Edward Newgate: Eh? There's some kind of weird superstition like that?
My True Form Is Cola: Yep! Pretty sure I've seen that play out in a bunch of anime.
Kaguya-sama: Pfft...it happening in anime counts as evidence now?
Terrible Tornado: [Dice] Huh? Another five. Guess that settles it—I win.
Kaguya-sama: Eh?? Umaru actually called that correctly??
My True Form Is Cola: My superstitious predictions come with a proven track record, lol.
[...]
Nobody expected Tatsumaki to actually roll another five. With that, the second Moderator slot officially landed on her.
Ryū personally placed a green cap on Tatsumaki's head—the little cap embroidered with the word "Moderator" across the front.
Gotta say...that little rectangular cap was one seriously vivid shade of green.
