Chapter 144: Three Group Quests!
Ying Zheng The Sovereign: We are grateful for everyone's generosity. On another note — among the individuals We have detained, one is somewhat unusual.
Ying Zheng The Sovereign: When bound with rope, the bindings come undone on their own. And when soldiers approach him, they are struck by something that cannot be seen. No visible attacker.
Ying Zheng The Sovereign: It is as if a ghost is protecting him from the shadows.
Ying Zheng The Sovereign: As a precaution, We knocked him unconscious.
RawrSoFierce: So he can launch invisible attacks? Though it doesn't sound especially powerful — otherwise he wouldn't have been captured in the first place.
Crazy Diamond: That's definitely a Stand attack. facepalm
Crazy Diamond: My own Stand ability, Crazy Diamond, is also invisible to ordinary people. I'm not entirely sure of the mechanics, but only Stand users can see Stands. Exceptions for people with unusual eyes or perception abilities.
Kaguya-sama: Could the world that collided be Josuke's world?!
Crazy Diamond: Pfft — no way, right? My world?!
Josuke, who had been fixing his hair while lurking in the chat, stared at Kaguya's message with a blank expression.
Of all the worlds that could have collided with Qin's Moon, it had to be his? The probability was astronomically low. Two Chat Group members happening to occupy the worlds that randomly connected — what were the odds?
But the description did sound like a Stand attack. Non-Stand users couldn't see Stands. The soldiers getting hit by nothing — that tracked.
Though apparently the Stand wasn't especially strong? Or maybe the user was caught off guard.
He had no idea. He hadn't been there.
Kaguya-sama: It's really not Josuke's world?
RawrSoFierce: ...Not necessarily his specifically.
RawrSoFierce: Josuke's world is set in 1999. A few months have passed in-world, so possibly 2000 by now.
RawrSoFierce: The smartphone Ying Zheng picked up off those people — 1999 to 2000 wouldn't have that model. So probably not Josuke's world.
Crazy Diamond: Phew. That was a brief scare.
Eternally Seventeen: Once Ying Zheng's scouts report back, we'll have a clearer picture.
Ying Zheng The Sovereign: The scouts have already been dispatched in multiple directions. Barring complications, We should have information by tonight.
Ying Zheng The Sovereign: Whitebeard-dono has just sent over more than a dozen Den Den Mushi capable of recording footage.
Kaguya-sama: LEGEND, Whitebeard-ojii-sama is absolutely incredible!! (voice crack)
Edward Newgate: Gurararara — the least I could do.
"..."
In the Qin's Moon world, Ying Zheng stood surrounded by his escort and watched his empire's scouts disappear into the treeline in every direction. Their qinggong carried them at speed — within seconds they were gone.
Ying Zheng had made qinggong a standard requirement across the imperial scouting corps early on. A scout didn't need to be the strongest fighter. A scout needed to be the fastest runner.
Whatever world that is — fortunate that the Chat Group has given me the experience to take this in stride. If I had encountered something like this before joining, even as Emperor of Great Qin, I might have spent several days in considerable disarray.
His gaze moved to the horizon. Several cell towers, barely visible in the distance. Objects that had no business existing in an ancient world.
And that detainee who could launch invisible attacks.
Whatever this other world was, its strangeness was not to be underestimated.
A respectful voice reached him from behind.
"Your Majesty. This location is somewhat exposed. We cannot rule out an ambush. Your safety—"
"We know," Ying Zheng said.
He stopped listening.
Someone in the Group had tagged him.
He let his consciousness slip in.
RawrSoFierce: @everyone — a Group Quest has just appeared. Took longer than expected — at least ten to thirty minutes of delay this time.
RawrSoFierce: [Image] [Image] [Image] [Image] — three Group Quests total. All three carry substantial rewards.
Eternally Seventeen: Oh — it actually triggered after all!
Eternally Seventeen: This one is absolutely going to compete.
Kaguya-sama: Three at once? Looking at these, they all seem to revolve around the same core event — similar structure to what happened in my world's Quest cycle.
Edward Newgate: Gurararara — it's been a while since this old man participated in a Quest. Last time was the Blackbeard business.
Ying Zheng The Sovereign: ...Group Quests.
Ying Zheng The Sovereign: In Our own world, at that.
Ying Zheng The Sovereign: This has become interesting.
Ying Zheng read through the three Quest descriptions. His brows drew together slightly.
This wasn't a localized incident. The scope of what he was reading touched the entire world.
No — both worlds.
Ying Zheng The Sovereign: Can four people participate in a Group Quest?
RawrSoFierce: Better to say five — a Group member who is physically present in the Quest world can participate directly, outside the normal slot limit.
Ying Zheng The Sovereign: Is that so. Understood. Thank you for clarifying, Admin.
