Jasmine seemed to consider it.
"It seems so," she said. "I'll go make sure the guests didn't hear about it and become scared. See you later."
After Jasmine had left, Anisha came back out, limping. Nhel's gaze locked with hers, and everything seized again.
What would have happened if he hadn't gone there in time? He had looked for her around the party hall but hadn't seen her.
Strange, because her scent had been nearby.
She should have just let him rip that prince's head off.
"I shouldn't… have," Anisha said absentmindedly as she headed toward the bath chamber.
Immediately she reached it, she rinsed her mouth several times and scrubbed her lips hard until blood seeped from them. Tears brimmed in her eyes, but she didn't want Nhel coming in and seeing her cry.
Was it a set-up? Or had she just unfortunately barged into him?
She took off her clothes with a feeling of heaviness, then sat down and began scrubbing her body.
