Chapter 7 - Between Duty and Heart ❤

When Aaika returned to her room, Wish was already there—but this time, she didn't look happy.

Aaika noticed immediately.

"What happened?" she asked.

Wish looked upset.

"You leave me here every day, saying 'I'll take you tomorrow,' but you never do. I don't like it here. No one talks to me… and I'm scared someone might capture me again."

Her voice trembled.

Hearing this, Aaika felt a sudden wave of emotion. She softened and said gently,

"Alright… I'm sorry. I promise, tomorrow I'll take you with me."

Wish looked at her seriously.

"Promise?"

Aaika nodded.

"I promise."

The next morning, Aaika was ready to leave for Earth again.

As soon as she called out, Wish appeared instantly, excited.

"I was already ready!"

Just then, Rambh entered the room.

"What are you doing?" he asked sharply. "You're taking her with you? She will only mislead you."

Hearing this, Wish quickly hid behind Aaika.

Aaika stood firm.

"That won't happen. If she stays with me, I'll feel stronger."

Without waiting for further argument, Aaika left with Wish.

Rambh watched them go, a faint worry crossing his mind.

What if this spirit ruins everything…?

For Wish, everything outside felt new and exciting. After being trapped for so long, she looked around with joy.

Then she suddenly asked,

"Where is the other divine angel?"

Aaika replied casually,

"There isn't another one. There's only one."

Wish paused.

"Oh… I must have said it wrong."

Aaika didn't think much about it.

Soon, they reached the place where Arin was.

He was sitting inside a café.

Aaika walked in and deliberately chose a seat near him, making sure he would notice her.

Wish whispered,

"Aren't you going to talk to him?"

Aaika replied softly,

"No… he will come to me."

And just as she said—

Arin noticed her.

But to her surprise, he simply got up and walked away.

Aaika was confused.

At that moment, a waiter approached.

"Ma'am, what would you like to order?"

Before Aaika could answer, Wish quickly said,

"Ice cream! Lots of ice cream!"

Aaika, slightly embarrassed, said,

"Just bring ice cream."

She was about to leave, but Wish stopped her.

"I want ice cream!"

Aaika sighed and stayed.

Just then—

Arin returned.

This time, he was holding a bouquet of roses.

Aaika looked at them, wondering who they were for.

Then Arin walked straight toward her.

"Hello," he said.

Aaika pretended as if she didn't know him.

"Hi."

Arin handed her the roses.

"These are for you."

Aaika looked surprised.

"For me?"

Arin nodded.

"Yes. Yesterday, I noticed you looking at flowers for quite some time… so I thought you might like them."

Aaika took the flowers.

For the first time, she felt something unexpected.

Happiness.

Someone had brought her something with such care—without her asking.

For a moment, she almost forgot why she had come here.

Just then, the waiter arrived with the ice cream—two servings.

Arin noticed.

"Two? For whom?"

Aaika quickly replied, a little flustered,

"My friend was supposed to come… but she canceled."

Then she added,

"If you want, you can join me."

Arin smiled.

"Sure. Better than sitting alone."

They spent a long time talking.

For once, everything felt… normal.

After some time, Arin received a phone call.

"I have to go," he said, getting up quickly.

As he went to pay the bill, Aaika stopped him.

"It's fine, I'll pay. You're getting late."

Arin smiled gratefully.

"Thank you."

And then he left.

As soon as he was gone, Wish appeared and complained,

"You forgot about me! You gave my ice cream to him!"

Aaika replied calmly,

"He brought me flowers… I couldn't refuse."

Then she added,

"I'll get you more."

She packed the ice cream, paid the bill, and returned to the demon realm.

Back there, Wish happily started eating her ice cream.

Just then, Rambh appeared.

His eyes fell on the roses.

"Who brought these?" he asked coldly.

Aaika told him everything honestly.

Rambh's expression darkened.

"You don't need anything from that angel," he said. "You should have thrown these away."

With a wave of his hand, he burned the flowers to ashes.

Aaika said nothing.

She knew staying silent was better.

Rambh looked at her sternly.

"Don't make the mistake of getting attached to him."

Then he left.

Wish looked at Aaika softly.

"It's okay…"

Aaika replied,

"I'm fine."

But the truth was—

She wasn't.

Wish said gently,

"I understand… he brought them with so much care."

Aaika's voice turned slightly heavy.

"No… there is no love. He is my enemy. I have no attachment to anything related to him. Father is right… I should have thrown them away."

Even though she said those words, she felt something deep inside her chest.

But she suppressed it.

Because she was a demon…

And Arin was her enemy.

The next day, Aaika was ready to leave again.

Rambh came to her, about to say something.

But before he could speak, Aaika said,

"I know why you're here. It was my mistake. I should not have brought anything related to that angel here. He is our enemy."

Rambh smiled with satisfaction.

"Good. That's exactly what I came to remind you."

Aaika nodded silently.

And then she left again—with Wish by her side.

To be continued…
