The father and daughter went back to the mansion after dinner to find Sophia waiting for them in the living room. She immediately put on a concerned expression the moment she spotted them."How is she feeling now",she turned to Hance with a look of heartache which softened the expression on his face.
Angela secretly rolled her eyes as she sneered inwardly 'why will you ask how I'm doing without looking at me, she's just putting on a show to look like a caring stepmom in front of dad and as expected my dad fell fall it'.Angela sighed as she knew she has a long way to go in order to expose this scheming woman in front of her.
"She's fine now and the doctor said it won't leave any scars,she just needs some rest",Hance replied as he took Sophia's hand and gave it a gently pat. "It has been hard on you, sorry for what happened earlier, I really appreciate your thoughtfulness but I don't want you to go through the trouble of making me soup. Leave all cooking to the kitchen in the future".
Sophia froze for a second before putting on a gentle smile, "I will listen to you".
Hance smiled "It's late, let's go to bed", He then turned to Angela "Make sure to avoid water from touching the wound and let me know if you feel any discomfort".
Angela thanked her dad and gave Sophia a polite nod before leaving for her room.
Hance then said goodnight to Sophia and also retired to his room. Sophia stood there for a while with a thoughtful look on her face,"I hope I'm just being paranoid ",she mumbled before she slowly walked back to her room.
Back in her room, Angela took her bath and avoided getting her wound wet. She then applied the cream prescribed by the doctor on the wound.
She fell into a deep sleep immediately her body touched the fluffy bed.
Unlike Angela who was having a good sleep, Juliet was fully awake with her face twisted in anger as she kept cutting a pillow with scissors. "Why,why does she always get all the love and attention that's meant for me, she's the reason I got humiliated at school today. I will make sure I take everything from her ", she vowed as she stabbed the pillow with vicious eyes.
Angela unaware of this was having a sweet dream, she would have laughed even if she was aware and say bring it on, let's see who will have the last laugh.
She was dreaming of her childhood with her mom singing softly and telling her stories when all of a sudden the dream changed to when she was being chased and killed.
Angela screamed as she sat up on her bed which got her father rushing into the room with a worried look. "What's wrong,did you have a nightmare", he asked when he saw her pale face and soaked night gown. Angela nodded weakly as she snuggled into her father's arms with her whole body trembling. She thought she was strong but she realized her previous life has traumatized her greatly. Hance patted her back gently "No one can harm you as far I'm here", Angela nodded as she sat up "I'm fine now,thank you dad".
He touched her forehead and sighed in relief that she has no fever, "I called the school to take two days off for you so rest well and call the butler if you need anything", he patted her hand and stood up to leave.
"Yes dad, be careful on your way and eat on time", she remember that her father often skipped eating and was always focused on the company without resting properly which lead to health problems in her previous life.She doesn't want the same thing to happen in this life,she has to convince her father to go for a body checkup.Her father smiled and nodded as he left the room.
