Chapter 11 - Chapter 13 – Truth Between Enemies

The large warehouse door crashed open with a deafening metallic sound.

Cold night air rushed inside.

Ryan Khan stepped in slowly.

Behind him, the headlights of several black SUVs illuminated the dark warehouse like a battlefield about to begin.

But Ryan didn't notice anything else.

His eyes had already found her.

Meherin.

She was tied to a chair under the hanging light.

Her hair was slightly messy, her wrists bound tightly with rope.

For a moment… Ryan's chest tightened.

A feeling he rarely allowed himself to feel.

Fear.

But it disappeared as quickly as it came.

What replaced it was far more dangerous.

Fury.

The temperature inside the warehouse seemed to drop instantly.

Daniel clapped slowly from the other side of the room.

"Well… the ruthless CEO finally arrives."

Ryan's cold gaze moved from Meherin to Daniel.

Every muscle in his body was tense.

"Let her go."

His voice was calm.

Too calm.

But Daniel only smiled.

"You've always been so impatient, Ryan."

He leaned casually against the table beside Meherin.

"Don't you want to talk first?"

Ryan took another step forward.

His eyes never left Meherin.

"Are you hurt?"

Meherin shook her head slightly.

"I'm okay."

But her voice carried something deeper.

Confusion.

Hurt.

And one question she couldn't keep inside anymore.

"Ryan…"

His eyes softened for a split second.

"Yes?"

Her voice trembled slightly.

"Did you know who I was before the contract marriage?"

The silence that followed felt heavy.

Ryan didn't answer immediately.

Daniel laughed quietly.

"Oh, this is the part I've been waiting for."

He walked slowly around the table.

"Go on, Ryan. Tell her the truth."

Ryan's jaw tightened.

His fists clenched.

But his gaze returned to Meherin.

And finally…

He spoke.

"Yes."

The word echoed across the warehouse.

Meherin felt like the ground beneath her had collapsed.

"You… knew?"

Ryan nodded slowly.

"I did."

Her chest tightened painfully.

"So everything… the contract… our marriage…"

Her voice cracked.

"It wasn't a coincidence."

Ryan's silence confirmed everything.

Daniel chuckled softly.

"Now we're getting somewhere."

Twenty Years Ago

Daniel walked toward the old projector mounted on the warehouse wall.

He pressed a button.

The screen flickered to life.

Old photographs appeared.

Corporate buildings.

Newspaper headlines.

Business meetings.

And one name repeated again and again.

Helix Group.

Meherin stared at the images.

"I've never heard of this company."

Ryan's voice was low.

"Because it was destroyed."

Daniel turned toward them.

"And do you know who destroyed it?"

Meherin slowly looked at Ryan.

Her heart pounding painfully.

Daniel answered before Ryan could.

"Khan Industries."

The words hung in the air like poison.

The projector changed slides.

Another photograph appeared.

A group of businessmen shaking hands.

Among them was a younger version of Ryan's father.

And beside him—

A man Meherin instantly recognized.

Her father.

Her breath caught.

"That… that's my father."

Daniel nodded.

"Yes."

He folded his arms.

"Your father worked as a senior financial strategist for Helix Group."

Ryan's voice was heavy.

"My father was Helix's biggest rival."

Daniel smirked.

"Rival is a polite word."

He clicked the projector again.

Another headline appeared.

"HELIX GROUP COLLAPSES AFTER MASSIVE FINANCIAL SCANDAL."

Daniel's eyes burned with hatred.

"But it wasn't a scandal."

"It was sabotage."

Meherin felt dizzy.

"What do you mean?"

Daniel stepped closer.

"Ryan's father orchestrated the entire collapse."

Ryan's expression darkened.

"That's not the full story."

Daniel laughed sharply.

"Oh? Then please enlighten us."

Ryan's eyes moved to Meherin again.

And for the first time since arriving…

His voice carried regret.

"My father believed Helix Group was planning to destroy our company first."

Meherin whispered,

"So he destroyed them instead…"

Ryan nodded slowly.

"But the consequences were worse than anyone expected."

Daniel's voice became cold.

"My brother worked at Helix."

His fists tightened.

"When the company collapsed… people lost everything."

"Jobs."

"Families."

"Lives."

His eyes burned as he stared at Ryan.

"My brother killed himself two weeks later."

The warehouse fell silent.

Meherin's heart sank.

And suddenly…

She understood Daniel's hatred.

The Real Reason Ryan Married Her

Daniel turned back toward Meherin.

"But that's not even the best part."

Ryan's eyes narrowed.

"Don't."

Daniel smiled wider.

"Oh, I absolutely will."

He placed another file on the table.

"Years later… Ryan Khan becomes CEO of Khan Industries."

"And he begins searching for the surviving members of Helix Group."

Meherin looked at Ryan slowly.

"You were investigating them?"

Ryan nodded.

"I wanted to know what really happened."

Daniel scoffed.

"He wanted to clean up his family's mess."

Ryan ignored him.

"And during that investigation…"

Ryan's voice became quieter.

"I found you."

Meherin's breath caught.

"You knew I was the daughter of one of the Helix executives."

Ryan nodded again.

"Yes."

Her chest tightened painfully.

"So the contract marriage…"

Ryan stepped closer.

"It wasn't revenge."

Daniel laughed loudly.

"Please."

Ryan's eyes flashed dangerously.

"It was protection."

Meherin stared at him.

"Protection?"

Ryan's voice was firm now.

"Yes."

Daniel's expression darkened slightly.

But Ryan continued.

"Daniel had already started targeting the families of former Helix employees."

Meherin's heart skipped.

"You thought he'd come after me."

Ryan nodded.

"And I was right."

Daniel smirked slowly.

"Well… technically yes."

A Dangerous Truth

Ryan took another step forward.

The distance between him and Meherin shrinking.

"I married you because it was the fastest way to protect you."

Meherin's emotions were spinning wildly.

Anger.

Relief.

Confusion.

"You could have just told me."

Ryan's voice softened.

"You wouldn't have believed me."

She knew he was right.

Even now, the truth felt unreal.

But before she could say anything else—

Daniel suddenly pulled out a gun.

And pointed it directly at Ryan.

"Well… that was a touching reunion."

Ryan didn't even flinch.

"Put the gun down."

Daniel smiled coldly.

"No."

His finger tightened on the trigger.

"Tonight this story finally ends."

🔥 Cliffhanger

Suddenly—

The warehouse lights went out.

Darkness swallowed the room.

A gunshot exploded in the silence.

Meherin screamed.

"RYAN!"

When the lights flickered back on—

Someone was lying on the ground.

Blood spreading across the concrete floor.

But in the chaos…

Meherin couldn't see clearly.

One terrifying question filled her mind.

Who was shot?

Her eyes scanned the room in panic.

And then she saw it.

Daniel.

He was on one knee, clutching his shoulder.

Blood slowly seeped through his black shirt.

Ryan stood a few feet away.

A gun in his hand.

Smoke rising from the barrel.

Meherin let out a shaky breath.

Ryan was safe.

But the rage in his eyes was terrifying.

Daniel looked up and laughed weakly despite the pain.

"You finally pulled the trigger."

Ryan's voice was ice.

"I warned you."

Daniel wiped the blood from his lips and slowly stood again.

"You always did love dramatic entrances."

Ryan didn't respond.

His entire focus was on Meherin.

"Are you hurt?"

She shook her head.

"I'm okay."

But she wasn't okay.

Her mind was still spinning with the truths she had just learned.

Ryan had known who she was all along.

Her father had been part of Helix Group.

And this war between Ryan and Daniel had started long before she even knew Ryan existed.

The Fight Begins

Daniel suddenly threw the table toward Ryan.

Ryan moved instantly, dodging the heavy wooden table as it crashed onto the concrete floor.

Daniel used the moment to pull out a knife.

His injured shoulder didn't slow him down.

He lunged forward.

Ryan blocked the attack with brutal precision.

The two men crashed into each other like predators fighting for dominance.

Punch.

Kick.

Metal chairs were thrown aside.

The warehouse echoed with the sounds of the violent struggle.

Meherin struggled against the ropes binding her wrists.

"Stop!"

But neither man listened.

Daniel swung the knife again.

Ryan grabbed his wrist and twisted it hard.

The knife clattered to the floor.

Ryan slammed his fist into Daniel's jaw.

Daniel staggered back.

But he smiled through the blood.

"You still fight like your father."

Ryan's expression darkened instantly.

"Don't compare me to him."

Meherin Breaks Free

While the men fought, Meherin noticed something.

The rope around her wrists had loosened slightly.

Daniel must have tied it quickly.

Her fingers worked carefully against the knot.

Slowly.

Quietly.

Finally—

The rope slipped free.

She stood up quickly.

But the moment she moved—

Daniel noticed.

His eyes flashed.

"Ah… the princess escapes."

He grabbed Meherin and pulled her toward him.

Ryan froze instantly.

"Let her go."

Daniel pressed a knife against Meherin's neck.

His voice turned cold.

"No."

The room became deadly silent.

Ryan's entire body went still.

Meherin could feel Daniel's breath near her ear.

"Now we talk properly."

Ryan's voice was dangerously calm.

"If you hurt her—"

Daniel interrupted him.

"You'll what?"

He leaned closer to Meherin.

"You see, Ryan… she deserves to hear the rest of the truth."

The Darkest Secret

Daniel pulled a small file from his coat and threw it toward Ryan.

It slid across the floor.

Ryan didn't move.

"Pick it up," Daniel said.

Ryan slowly bent down and grabbed the file.

His eyes scanned the document.

For the first time since entering the warehouse…

His expression changed.

Meherin noticed it immediately.

"What is it?"

Daniel smiled slowly.

"That… is the real story of Helix Group."

Ryan's jaw tightened.

"You shouldn't have this."

Daniel laughed.

"Oh, but I do."

He looked directly at Meherin.

"Your father wasn't just an employee of Helix."

Meherin frowned.

"What do you mean?"

Daniel's voice dropped like a bomb.

"He was the man who betrayed them."

The words echoed across the warehouse.

Meherin felt like the air had been ripped from her lungs.

"No…"

Ryan's voice was quiet.

"It's true."

She looked at him in shock.

"You knew?"

Ryan nodded slowly.

"Yes."

Tears filled her eyes.

"My father… betrayed Helix?"

Daniel chuckled darkly.

"Yes."

He pointed toward Ryan.

"Your father secretly worked with Khan Industries."

Meherin shook her head violently.

"No… my father would never—"

Ryan interrupted gently.

"He didn't mean to destroy the company."

Her eyes snapped to him.

"Then what happened?"

Ryan sighed quietly.

"Your father leaked financial information to my father."

"Information he believed would stop Helix from attacking us."

Daniel scoffed.

"But your father used that information to destroy Helix instead."

Meherin felt tears roll down her cheeks.

"So my father…"

Ryan finished the sentence softly.

"Was used."

Daniel smiled cruelly.

"And after Helix collapsed… he disappeared."

Meherin whispered,

"He told me he left the company because of health problems…"

Ryan's voice was heavy.

"He was protecting you."

The Real War

Daniel suddenly shoved Meherin away.

She stumbled but didn't fall.

Ryan instantly moved closer to her.

Daniel wiped blood from his face.

"Now you both know the truth."

Ryan's eyes burned with fury.

"This ends tonight."

Daniel laughed again.

"You still don't understand."

Ryan frowned.

"What?"

Daniel slowly raised his hand.

And snapped his fingers.

Suddenly—

Footsteps echoed outside the warehouse.

Dozens of armed men surrounded the building.

Ryan's security team rushed in from behind.

Guns raised.

The warehouse turned into a battlefield.

Daniel smiled calmly.

"I didn't come here alone."

Ryan's voice turned deadly.

"And neither did I."

🔥 Cliffhanger

Suddenly—

The warehouse lights went out.

Darkness swallowed the room.

A gunshot exploded in the silence.

Meherin screamed.

"RYAN!"

When the lights flickered back on—

Someone was lying on the ground.

Blood spreading across the concrete floor.

But in the chaos…

Meherin couldn't see clearly.

One terrifying question filled her mind.

Who was shot?

The two sides aimed their weapons at each other.

The tension was unbearable.

Then suddenly—

A loud explosion shook the warehouse walls.

The ground trembled violently.

Everyone froze.

Ryan looked toward the ceiling.

"Daniel… what did you do?"

Daniel's smile widened slowly.

"This building is wired with explosives."

Meherin's heart nearly stopped.

"What?!"

Daniel looked directly at Ryan.

"You came here to save her."

His eyes burned with madness.

"So let's see…"

"…if you can save everyone."

The countdown timer on the wall suddenly lit up.

03:00

Ryan whispered under his breath.

"Damn it."

Meherin grabbed his arm.

"What do we do?"

Ryan looked at her.

His voice was calm.

But deadly serious.

"We run."
