OC vs Miasmic Fiend (ZZZ)

Location - Lemnian Hollow, Fallume Heights
It started as a simple rescue mission, the group comprising of the legendary proxy Phaethon, Manato, Alice & Avery returned to the depths of the miasma filled Lemnian Hollow.
Their rescue target?: Unikami Yuzuha
Yuzuha had allowed herself to get captured by Porcelumex so Alice could escape unscathed. Apparently she was once a child being experimented on, her blood being a sort of "Stabilizer" for the porcelume material. Yuzuha also confessed to Alice that she indirectly caused her father's death.
The poor bunny thiren was way too torn up to explain in detail. This hydrogen bomb of an information drop made Avery's blood boil, he was never a fan of TOPS or any powerful organization really. To him they held way too much power and kept way too many secrets from the public, rich people are too prideful to hide their "kindness".
Alice to the surprise of no one was determined to bring Yuzuha back, enlisting the help of her new found friends. With aid from members of the Defense Force and Obol Squad, the group tore through the old lab ruins.
It wasn't long before they reached the heart of the facility, and within they found Yuzuha desperately fending off attacks. Her modified umbrella stood firm but she kept getting pushed back, eventually falling off the edge.
Alice was the first to move, calling out for her friend in fear. Avery and Manato trailed behind her, as Avery's purple eyes watched Yuzu decend he steeled himself to leap and catch her. It was then he saw it, that thing they all fought while first exploring, bladed arms poised to attack as it was ready to skewer the tanooki girl.
Turning to Manato Avery quickly yelled "BOOST ME!"
The red-head responded quickly, turning the flat of his blade towards Avery who used it as a springboard to launch himself towards Yuzu. Manato giving a grunt of effort as he used his lower body to boost his buddy as best as he could.
Yuzuha looked down and saw the young man flying towards her, she realized he wasn't looking at herself but further up. Only then did she notice the ethereal she was just fighting only a few feet from her, ether blades about to kebab her in a few seconds.
With quick thinking, she tucked herself inwards grabbing her umbrella and kama as tight to her body as she could. She felt Avery grab her collar, the downward force of her free fall ceasing suddenly.
With Yuzu in one hand Avery snapped the fingers of his other, his W-Engine whirred to life transforming the abundance ether in his open palm to lightning, his etheric signature now attuned to the shock anomaly. Closing his hand into a fist he reared his arm back and met the humanoid ethereal head on.
A sonic boom burst from where his hand and its blade met, but the two were stalemated in the air. Lightning and pure ether energy pulsating outward from the deadly clash.
Avery's triumph was short lived however, the ethereal released an ear piercing screech before surging forward. Yuzuha and everyone watching below looked on in horror as Avery's arm was pushed back by the blade.
A sharp squelching noise and the sound of a blade tearing flesh vibrated through the entire building. From the perspective of Manato and Alice they could see Avery's the ethereal blade punching right through his lower chest.
"AVERY"

Three distinct voices called out, all of them mortified by what they just witnessed. Avery's eyes rolled back and his grip on Yuzuha loosened, right as they were both about to be slammed into the ground by the ethereal a blinding golden light beamed overhead.
The Qingming bird, Yixuan's soul bound companion dived down between them. It exploded into an inky black and golden blast before Yixuan appeared.
The Shifu of Yunkui summit showed a rare expression of Anger on her usually stoic face, grabbing both Yuzuha and Avery before delivering a devastating turning back kick.
The ethereal was flung into the nearby wall, a loud crack echoed through the chamber. She had kicked it so hard that the ethereal became embedded to the wall.
Floating down towards the rest of the group she let Yuzuha down before setting Avery on the floor. She kneeled down and looked at the bloodied wound, with a determined look Yixuan pulled out a talisman
and placed it on top of the gaping hole.
"Sorry, I couldn't make it in time. I can't heal with my talismans but that should stop the bleeding for now" Yixuan said to the others, riding to her feet.
The group had quickly rushed over, all looking down at their fallen friend. Even Trigger who was there for some reason showed some concern, her visor purple as she could tell that something was stupid his etheric fluctuations from flowing properly in his body.
(A/N - By the way I have no clue what color represents concern or like fear for Trigger so I just bullshitted there.)
Alice was covering her mouth with both her hands, Manato had a sollem look in his eyes, Yuzuha herself couldn't even look, her hand shielding Kama from the sight, and Belle was kneeling next to Avery on the opposite side.
"Will he be alright?" Alice asked, looking towards Yixuan. The woman narrowed her eyes as she continued to observe the fallen teen.
"With proper medical care yes, he's stable but we need to end this swiftly" she responded back.
Before they could question the grandmaster, an ear shattering screech came from where the humanoid ethereal was implanted into the wall. It bursted out clearly enraged, it's body radiating Miasma as it stared at Yixuan with pure hatred.
Yixuan froze, in the heat of the moment she wasn't able to get a good look at the ethereal before her until now. She clenched her fists, she knew exactly who was behind this and what this ethereal was supposed to represent.
"Stand firm, I hope you three are ready" She said, getting into her Summit Fist stance.
(A/N: I made that up)
The three responded in kind, Yuzuha prepping her umbrella, Alice slipping into a stance of her own with her family swordplay arts, and Manato dragged the edge of his blade along his gauntlet igniting it with red flames.
"You won't be getting away with that!" - Alice
"You're gonna pay for sure!" - Yuzuha
"Payback time!" - Manato
They all said in unison, before rushing ahead determined to deliver righteous vengeance for their friend.

The sounds of battle could be heard in the distance, Belle unable to fight herself watched over Avery. She saw him slip in and out of consciousness as she checked every so often to make sure he was breathing.
Avery could hear his friends take on the ethereal, but he couldn't feel his body. Everything was dark and faint, like he was in a coma.
'Sure hope it's not a coma, I'm about to graduate for crying out loud!' He thought, not considering the fact that he has a hole in his chest the size of Shifu's thig- wait what.
Shaking his head to snap away the thought, stopping to wonder why he suddenly gain motor functions again. Until he realized he wasn't in the facility anymore, Avery wasn't even sure if he was in the hollow anymore actually.
He was in a blizzare but strangely comforting room, with gray brick flooring, dark wooden furniture, white walls with LED signs and .... a Lamppost?
The rooms design was "unique" there was a door noticably elevated from the floor, behind him clocks littered the wall above his head. The "stairs" (if you could even called them that) connecting to the second floor were tiny and aligned with glasses in the middle of them.
Beneath the second floor was a neat walk-in closet area adorned with black and white suits hanging toward the back. Avery scratched his head seeing the strange place he ended up. Granted, seeing as how hollows are well hollows, this wasn't totally out of the realm of possibilities.
That was before a voice sounded behind him.
"Took you a bit to get here"
Avery will forever deny that he screamed like a little girl but he totally did.
Behind him was a man wearing a white collared shirt and black pants, his bodied adorned with tactical straps.
Avery absentmindely thought he matched Evelyn in this form of dress, but he let that one pass swiftly. The man before him smiled, handing Avery his W-Engine.
The machine was glowing in his hands, totally not what it was meant to do. He looked at the man again and saw him turning faint, as if he was a ghost.
"Hey wait, who are you and what is this place?" He asked incredulously, this was getting really weird.
The just smiled at Avery, becoming fainter and fainter before he disappeared into notes of light.
As the last flickers vanished into nothing, Avery heard a voice in his head 'Make your dream come true, just like I did'
Avery just blinked, "What" he said aloud looking at where the man vanished into thin air. The glow from his W-Engine died down, before him was now a unknown piece of technology. It was a mainly black, with a green ring around where what looked to be a circuit or mechanical component was supposed to go.
He wondered what was supposed to go there before he felt something small and round in his pocket. Pulling the object out, he saw a glossy red energy core faintly brimming with power.
He looked at the his changed W-Engine, the power core, and back at his W-Engine. After a second Avery smirked, he wasn't sure if it was the exact same but it had to be similar right?
"Billy is so going to hate me when I show him this" He said aloud, before he felt himself wake up.

The first thing he saw was Belle staring at him in relief. He guessed that seeing him wake up after getting shish-kebabed made her happy.
"We'll look who's up" She said sarcastic, her tone holding less bite that usual but that was to be expected.
"How long was I out" He asked, he could hear the sounds of swords and fists colliding guessing what was going a little ways away.
"Not that long- what are you doing" She began but quickly asked when he started to rise up. She tried to pull him down but noticed that somehow behind Shifu's talisman, there was no wound to be found.
"How the hell did you heal..." She began but seeing his bemused smile she just let it go. Since she got to know him a few months ago, Avery always tended to weasel out of tight spots. This was just insane though, she couldn't help but smile at her friend.
"Sorry your going to hate me for this, but I've got some payback I'm owed" He patted her shoulder walking back into the chamber where the sounds of combat echoed.
He watched Yixuan swatting the ethereals deadly swipes with ease, she then ducked a horizontal slash where Alice appeared behind her. The bunny thiren twirling and delivering a devastating aerial roundhouse to its face. However, the ethereal tanked the blow, turning its head and Alice's heel with its cheek to glare at the girl.
Alice wasn't phased as a hand grabbed her and pulled them to the side. It was Yixuan who twisted her body and cartwheeled out, taking Alice with her. Behind them was Yuzuha, umbrella closed and the barrel pointing directly at the ethereal.
"EAT THIS!" She yelled pulling the trigger and blasting it right in the dome. The ethereal staggerd back hard, that was one of Yuzuha's new explosive rounds. They were experimental but apparently they worked.
The ethereal got no time to rest as a masculine roar echoed from above it.
"DON'T FORGET ABOUT ME" Manato screamed, slamming his blade down on the Ethereal. Dust flew up from the impact as Manato leaped from the clouds back towards his team.
Avery smiled even brighter, happy that they were fighting that hard for him. He steeled himself taking a deep breath and calming down his racing heart.
"HEY" Avery yelled, his voice echoing through the chamber. Everyone, including the ethereal paused and turned towards him.
His shirt was stained with blood but there was no wound. The talismans had disappeared with its purpose fulfilled, so it was if the injury never even happened.
There was a stunned silence in the chamber, his miraculous healing confusing all witnesses. It remained for a prolonged second before Yuzuha began to shake her head.
"This guy" She whispered aloud, everyone heard it in the quiet chamber of course. She then started giggling to herself, which swiftly evolved to full blown laughter.
"There's just nothing that will put you down, you're insane Avy" She said between laughs, in the few days she got to know the guy he took hard hit after hard hit and kept getting up. His resilience was mentioned offhandedly by Belle from time to time, but seeing it like personally? A completely different story entirely.
She admired him for it, thinking back to her young frail frame back when she was still a lab rst for Porcelumex.
"Oh you're doing pet names now? Crazy work Yuzuha" Manato said, staring at both his long-term and short term friend in a deadpan stare.
This of course resulted in a fist to his nose from Yuzuha, who moved so fast to deck the guy you thought she could teleport.
"Oh wait that just made it more obvious, Fuck!" Yuzuha said looking to the side while holding her fist out. More to herself again but loud enough that everyone got the point.
"Not touching that with a 20 foot pole" a flat voice muttered. Yixuan taking in a deep breath before exhaling, a smile creeping onto her face.
"Can we drop the sitcom guys, we're still in a hollow!" Belle yelled from outside the chamber, which got everyone back on track.
"Oh yeah, thanks for the gift asshole!" Avery announced, holding up his new W-Engine to everyone.
"But that fucking hurt, so I'm looking to pay you back in full!" He then placed his W-Engine near his heart, straps moving out it's ends and attaching themselves to him at his right hip.
His heart began to beat again, not to replace his missing blood however. This time, his heart was beating in excitement, cause if he was right, things were about to get amazing.
He pulled out the energy core and pointed it at the humanoid ethereal. Placing it within the slot, he pressed a button on the top of the W-Engine. The mechanism flourished with life, red light billowing from the core.
"IMPACT" A grand voice from within the W-Engine announced.
"Arise! Arise! Arise!" It continued and surprisingly Alice of all people widened her eyes in realization.
"Oh my God, is that what I think it is!?" She exclaimed, grabbing ahold of Yuzuha and staring at Avery in excitement. Her Heterochromatic eyes shinning like stars. Avery wiped the small amount of blood that remained on his lips with his left thumb.
"Let's rock" Avery muttered, moving his left hand out to his the side. He definitively snapped his fingers, the sound echoing through the chamber like a declaration.

"Henshin!"
Avery slid his thumb along the black outer shell before stopping at the core. With a strong flick of his wrist his thumb dragged along it, spinning the core with finesse.
The entire W-Engine lit up with shifting colors, a small holographic chibi began bouncing in celebration in front of him.
A Guitar solo began emanating from the W-Engine as Avery's body faded into red smoke. The ethereal stared on in bewilderment as from the smoke a armored sillhoute appeared. As the smoke began to fade a pure black power suit stood in Avery's place.
"Good Morning! Rider!"
Alice squealed, she couldn't believe her eyes. As a closeted Starlight Knight fan, this was the closest she'll ever get to seeing a real one in the flesh. No actually this was better, because it was one of her new friends doing all of this.
However Alice's estatic sounds seemingly brought the ethereal out of its stun-locked state. It shrieked and leaped at what it assumed was a different fighter.
Avery didn't even look up, he just slightly moved his torso to the side, narrowly avoiding a slash meant to cleave him in two. The ethereal left itself completely open, and he took advantage.
The muscular parts of his chest plate lit up a neon turquoise green as he turned to the now grounded ethereal. Twisting his hips, leg lifted, he reared his arm back for a destructive counter. The ethereal saw it coming the whole time but due to its imbalanced state it could only watch.
Avery planted, turned forward and -
BOOM
Delivered a powerful clawed palm strike to the ethereal in front of him. A sonic boom resounded through the chaimber once again as he held the pose for maximum aura.
The shockwave blew everyone's hair to the side as they all looked at the sight, stunned to silence once again.
Or at least most of them were silent.
"OH MY GOD HE'S SO GOD DAMN COOL!" Alice squealed again, covering her hands with her face. She was rocking back and forth in the balls of her feet, looking to be on cloud 9 at the display.
Yixuan pretended not to notice the rich girl to her left fangirlling out and looked at the the crater in the wall. The ethereal was driven so far into it she was concerned for the foundation of the chamber.
Belle all the way in the back looked in awe, hands in front of her face seeing what her best buddy just did. The Phaethon sibling turned the other way to the cracked wall left by the ethereal from Yixuan's kick.
"SHIFU GOT CRATERMOGGED!" She yelled out. Trigger, who was beside her apparently snickered to herself at the term. Belle who had no idea she was next to her convulsed so hard it looked like her soul got ripped out of her for a second.
"Holy shit, you have to stop doing that" Trigger didn't respond, she was looking at Avery still holding his strike in the chaimber.
'We see the fit Kid, but man do I love it' She thought to herself. She was sure if seed was here she would absolutely freak out.
Avery rose up, his rider suit glowing once more as red lines began defining themselves on his suit. Running along the driver and between the turquoise sections, covering the soles of his feet, and leaving a defined area of onyx black for contrast. The suit spoke out once more, announcing itself to the world.
"ZE, ZE, ZEZTZ!"
Red began to bleed into the lenses of his beetle like helmet. Adorned with the turquoise as the base, black horns protruding up and back slightly, with red lines curving up the back into the lenses.
"Impact!"
The red lines shone brightly, completing the henshin. For the first time ever, New Eridu had its own Kamen Rider
"Oi, I wasn't through with you yet" Avery announced, he reached into the space in front of him and grabbed it. With a definitive pull, everyone witnessed space distort, the massive crater began to warp before the ethereal was dragged from deep within the wall towards Avery.
He reared his arm back, veins from the muscle in the suit bulging slightly, and punched it again, this time in the gut. The ethereal doubled over from the impact before taking a knee to the face that would've made any Muay Thai instructor proud. With it upright and reeling Avery charged forward and stepped up the ethereal.
He leaped off the ethereal face, planting his full heel for maximum disrespect and to ensure the ethereal was facing down. He twisted counter clockwise before winding up his back leg, Yuzuha winced when he brought his foot down for a sideways axe kick.
The ethereals head bounced off the floor when the attack connected. Avery landed while holding the pose again before using his left leg to "kick it to the curb" as they say. The ethereal laying on floor face first in a notorious "defeated" pose.
Not done just yet, Avery stomped the ground distorting space again as the shockwave rolled forward in a controlled line. Reaching the ethereal the impact uprighted it again, it swayed back and forth fully dazed.
Avery rushed forward, fists firing with finesse and power as he delivered a deadly combination. Blow after blow hit the ethereal, each one aimed directly at its face, etheric blood started to splatter from the strikes. After the combo count reached 20 Avery switched from jabs to sharp hooks.
They landed in a Right, Left, Left, Right sequence, the final right hook sending the ethereal sliding across the floor. As it slide forehead first across the ground it ripped up the already cracked flooring, leaving a deep gash in the chamber bottom.
"That, was everything you owed me.... With interest!" Avery announced. The overwhelming difference in strength between the two made abundantly clear.
"And that means there's no point to drag this out any further" he said in a neutral tone now, sighing to himself.
"Yixuan Shifu, did you notice" He asked looking towards the grandmaster. She nodded solemnly in confirmation.
The Exhaultists, using residual Miasma left over from when Yixuan had purified Belle, had implanted painful memories into this thing to make it so powerful. These memories were the ones Yixuan had of her sister Yijang, but what happened to Yijang isn't Avery's story to tell.
"Poor thing, these memories and emotions aren't yours to resolve ..... They never were" He said, the pity he held for the monster in front of him was clear despite his face being masked.
He looked to Yixuan, as if asking for permission. It was, even on a minor technicality her sister they were fighting. She closed her eyes for a second, pondering the weight of the request in her head.
"Finishing this won't have the affect you wish on me. Besides it was never my fight to begin with, Go ahead" She stated, everyone noticed the distant look she gave Avery as she spoke.
He nodded and turned back around, the ethereal began staggering up once more, although it was clear it had no fight left. He raised his thumb towards the button on his driver again.
"I'll set you free from the pain they forced on you" Avery stated. He tapped the button on his driver three times, each time it responded with a deepening sound of powering up. Sliding the core again the Chibi version of his ZEZTZ suit appeared once more.
Avery took a stance, lowering himself right foot forward slightly crouched, with all his weight on that front foot. He closed his right hand into a fist as the red lines radiated with power, traveling from the driver to his right foot. The lenses of his helmet flared to life as well burning it's bright red once more.
"Fade Away" Avery muttered, before sprinting in a flash of light towards the ethereal.
He twirled into a tornado kick, leaving a trail of flames behind as he struck the ethereal. The flames converged into a stylized 7. He continued with a corkscrew aerial back roundhouse leaving behind another 7. Double cartwheeling back, he created enough space for the finisher.
"Impact!" His suit cried as he ran forward before leaping.
"Banish!" Avery turned his body into a falling kick pose. His right foot burning with power as he soared towards his foe.
The ethereal didn't make a move to dodge, nor did it try to counter attack. It instead accepted it's fate with open arms, Avery could see between its silvery-white hair a tearful smile on its face.
"ZE, ZE, ZEZTZ" He kicked right through the ethereals chest, leaving a burning hole where his foot made contact. The 7's all lined up together in front of it.
The ethereal staggered again, before begging to fade away. The 7's appeared behind it, connecting together to create a triple Z.
"Mission..... Complete"Avery stated with finality, as the ethereal exploded into faint purple light. The light faded until a purple butterfly was all that remained, Avery watched as it fluttered away. He silently wished it a safe return to the afterlife. Back to the peace it earned, the peace that she, earned.
The suit vanished from his body into nothingness, the only thing left on his face after such an eventful battle was a serene smile. In the distance, Avery heard a church bell toll, the sun in the hollow rising as the Miasma cleared around him.
The young man looked up into the sky, silent before a moment before chuckling lightly to himself.

With the tension gone from the chamber everyone began to walk to Avery. They had so many questions, Alice had especially had more questions than all of them combined. However the young man raised his hand, signaling everyone to stop. He then turned his attention to Yuzuha.
The prankster looked up at him in confusion as he walked up to her. He stopped right in front of her, only Kama her partner, noticed the dangerous edge in his smile but he knew what was coming was righteous.
"What's up Avy-"

The sound reverberated, everyone but Belle winced since she had been on that side of situation frequently.
"Okay... I deserved that" Yuzu said, clutching her forehead which now housed a red sore spot from where he flicked her.
"Damn right you do idiot! The hell were you thinking doing something like that. Even I'm not that reckless!" That statement stung because quite frankly, Avery literally had a hole in his chest not even an hour ago.
"I'm... I'm sorry" The tanuki girl apologized, rubbing her arm while looking at the floor. Avery began soothing the red spot on her head with his thumb. The girl pretending not to notice, letting him treat her like a misbehaving younger sibling. He didn't do it for more than a passing second, preserving what little dignity she had that day.
"I'm not the one you need to apologize to" He said stepping aside for the approaching Alice. Yuzu didn't even get a word in before Alice shoved a hair pin into her hands and wrapped her in a tight embrace.
"You dummy, were all going to live. Together!" She announced, with no room for argument. Her words struck a chord with the tanuki in her arms, Yuzuha returning the hug to Alice.
"Yeah" Yuzuha responded, which opened the water works as Alice wept in her arms. The nightmare was finally over for both girls, and this was the happy ending they deserved.
Avery stood off to the side with Belle and Manato, the three watching the scene ahead. Yixuan went outside to discuss with captain Magus of Obol Squad. Seeing this Avery only had one thing to say.
"Their so gay, I love em" This made both Belle and Manato do a spit take, and Trigger, who popped up unannounced again laugh. This made all three souls leave their bodies as she laughed even harder at her reaction.
"STOP DOING THAT" They all yelled in unison.
