Moonburn Pack
Alpha Valon
I hadn't gone to war in a very long time.
And the excitement of it sat heavily beneath my skin like a beast clawing to be unleashed.
Preparations had already been completed long before dawn. Five hundred warriors stood ready beneath my command, more than enough to tear through humans like dry grass beneath fire.
The Moonburn Pack alone was massive, nearly the size of a small city. More than three thousand men lived within its territory excluding women and children.
But I had never cared much for numbers.
Quality mattered more.
And the warriors standing before me were strong.
Brutal.
Loyal.
By daybreak, I led them out of the pack.
I wore only furred pants despite the cold winds biting across the land. The cold had never bothered me. If anything, it sharpened my senses further.
Every pack member I passed immediately bowed their heads.
None dared hesitate.
Fear and respect followed me naturally.
