"When would it be my turn?" I asked the moment I stepped closer to Gessia, ignoring the way she flinched slightly at my presence.
Most times, she could barely even look at me directly, even though I knew she wanted me just as much as she wanted my brothers.
Not love.
She was far too complicated for something as simple as love, and somehow that made me trust her even less.
It would have been easier if she lied. Then I would know exactly what kind of person she was dealing with. But not knowing made me cautious enough that if her ritual had failed, I would have killed her before Thor or Rex could stop me.
"…we need to wait until she's better. Her insides need time to settle too, just to make sure there are no complications when she's carrying the next—"
