Emma's lungs burned as she ran through the narrow underground tunnel.
The sound of the iron door breaking behind them still echoed in her ears. The attackers had entered Section 3, and now they were chasing them through the tunnels.
Thud… thud… thud…
Adrian was leading the way.
"This way! Hurry!"
Hena was struggling to keep up.
"Are we going to escape them?"
William looked back and saw flashes of light in the distance.
"They're getting closer."
Jay walked silently, his face calm, his eyes focused on the tunnel ahead.
Emma tightened her grip on the tape in her hand.
Her father's voice echoed in her mind again and again.
"Section 7 must remain sealed…"
Why?
Why did her father want Section 7 sealed?
Fear slowly filled her chest.
The tunnel suddenly sloped downward.
"Careful!" Adrian shouted.
The ground was wet and slippery.
Hena almost fell again, but Jay quickly grabbed her arm.
"Careful."
Hena looked at him in surprise.
"Thank you…"
Jay didn't respond.
He just kept walking.
William looked around.
"Where does this tunnel lead?"
Jay answered calmly,
"Probably an old storage area."
Adrian nodded.
"We need a place to hide."
Suddenly, voices echoed behind them.
"Search the tunnels!"
Emma turned back in fear.
Lights were moving in the darkness.
They were coming.
Adrian quickly pointed forward.
"There's a room ahead!"
They rushed toward a small iron door.
William opened it.
Inside was complete darkness.
Everyone entered, and Adrian shut the door quietly.
The room was small and dusty.
Old wooden boxes were stacked in the corners.
Spider webs covered the walls.
Hena sat down on the floor, breathing heavily.
"I can't run anymore…"
Emma sat beside her.
"We're safe for now."
William noticed papers on the wall.
Old maps.
He pulled one down.
"This looks like a tunnel map."
Adrian stepped closer.
"Show me."
William spread the map on the floor.
Section 3, Section 7, storage routes, labs—everything was marked.
Emma spoke softly,
"We need to get out of here."
William nodded.
"Yes, but we must choose the safest route."
Jay was staring at the map.
Again, his eyes stopped at Section 7.
Marked in red.
Emma noticed it.
"Jay… why are you looking at Section 7?"
Jay paused.
Then replied calmly,
"I'm just studying the map."
William spoke quietly,
"But you keep focusing on Section 7."
Silence filled the room.
Jay finally said,
"Because the answers might be there."
Adrian's voice became firm.
"We are not going there."
Jay looked at him.
"Why?"
"Because Emma's father wanted it sealed."
Jay remained silent for a few seconds.
Then he smiled slightly.
"Not every truth should stay hidden."
Emma felt a strange chill.
Suddenly—
Footsteps outside.
Thud… thud…
Everyone froze.
Hena whispered,
"They're here…"
Flashlight beams moved under the door.
William whispered,
"Stay quiet."
A voice came from outside.
"Check this room."
The door handle slowly moved.
Emma closed her eyes.
Suddenly—
Jay grabbed a metal pipe from the wall.
The door opened—
Bang!
Jay hit the attacker's arm.
The man fell down.
Adrian pushed another attacker away.
"Run!"
Everyone rushed out again.
"Catch them!" the attackers shouted.
Emma kept running.
There was no time to stop.
William shouted,
"Exit ahead!"
A staircase appeared in the distance.
Adrian pointed.
"Up!"
They climbed the stairs quickly.
Jay came up last.
At the top, Adrian pushed open a heavy metal door.
Cold night air rushed in.
They were finally outside.
It was an abandoned factory.
Broken walls.
Rusty machines.
Silence everywhere.
Hena collapsed on the ground.
"We made it…"
Emma looked at the night sky.
Tears filled her eyes.
"Father…"
William spoke calmly,
"We need a safe place now."
Adrian nodded.
"Yes. We move before they find us again."
Jay stood quietly.
His eyes were fixed on a dark corner of the factory.
A rusted door stood there.
Written on it:
Storage Route – Section 7 Access
A faint smile appeared on Jay's face.
No one noticed.
He whispered quietly,
"Section 7…"
In the shadows, a man in black clothes watched them from a distance.
He spoke into a walkie-talkie.
"Target escaped. Moving to Section 7."
Static answered back.
"Understood."
Emma didn't know the truth yet.
The real conflict had not begun.
Because somewhere in the darkness—
Section 7 was waiting.
