"The heck?" Red clicked his tongue, his face sour. "Now we're stuck here for how long? Six months?"
"Goddamn it," another guard from his team hissed. "What's the point of being the best when I'm stuck here?!"
Another guard clutched his hair in distress. "Six months… of fucking hell!"
The group of five, originally part of Lucian's main security team, grumbled in frustration just outside the mansion. From what they'd heard, Lucian had moved up his schedule and planned to finish a year's worth of work in six months.
It wasn't surprising—Lucian had those streaks. It was why he could stay home whenever he wanted without issue; these bursts of work bought him plenty of time.
But that also meant those left behind—to guard the territory, babysit Ashley, and ensure Primo's safety—would be spending months doing basically nothing. Or worse… dealing with whatever nonsense Ashley could come up with.
