Chapter 19 - Cursed and Rotten

As light shone across the land, Sunny and Kai spoke one last time about the plan.

From Sunny's experience, the last time Sunny asked Kai to look at the Cursed Demon, he guaranteed it was a demon.

Only then did Kai notice it was staring back. After that, he said a jumbled mess that somehow infected Sunny as well.

That feat was utterly ridiculous since Sunny himself was a Supreme Titan, and that was the last thing he remembered.

So there are a few things Sunny learned from that encounter. The creature had the highest probability of powers relating to memory loss and creating thralls. When Sunny also came too, he was missing an arm and was riddled with arrows.

Slayer's arrows. That means that for a moment, Sunny and Slayer fought. Slayer didn't try to kill Sunny but used the arrows to slow him down. Meaning Slayer most likely had defenses, or controlling Sunny himself was taxing, since he was a Supreme Titan. Though instantly turning a Supreme Titan into a thrall is....

It was dangerous to say the least.

The reason for its death was completely unknown, but Sunny had a Sacred shade of the wolf as well, so in a direct confrontation, it should hold the advantage. As for Abundance, it was bait. They also didn't have the threat of turning into thralls.

"Using Gods as bait huh," Kai said.

"Yes, that's all we can do. We should try to stay far away. Slayer will support the Wolf with the other shades as well. Whatever you do, don't look at the Cursed Demon, no matter what," Sunny said.

Summoning Abundance, Sunny watched the squares become available to one another.

Send a command to the Shade. Sunny watched it take off with the Obsidian Wasps on its sides.

Although it had wicked mind powers, Sunny wasn't going to underestimate its physical prowess. Although Abundance was a time-consuming enemy to defeat if you couldn't enthrall it.

When Kai and I got infected, I'm sure he said a mess of gibberish so it could actually be infecting beings through sounds, Sunny thought.

Just in case, Sunny created some earplugs out of Shadows and a memory for communication using one of the Supreme soul shards he got from the obsidian wasps. Most of it was used for the enchantments on the arrows, but there were a few left.

Hearing a crashing noise, Sunny noted a battle had started.

Unfortunately, it wasn't just the Cursed Demon they would be fighting today, but two Cursed Monsters. They were the reason the battle had become extremely perilous as well. The three surrounding squares formed a loose triangle around them.

Sunny sent the Wolf to deal with one of the squares that represented a Cursed Monster. Sunny was unsure what creatures they were, but Slayer would be assisting the Wolf in battle while Sunny himself dealt with the other.

Watching Slayer riding on top of the Wolf with its pack, Sunny was sure they would win. As for the other Cursed Monster, Sunny, he would win this battle with himself.

Over the last few hours, Sunny was creating a powerful Sacred Memory using the hides of the beasts he had defeated.

The memory read.

Memory: [The Thrill]

Memory Rank: II

Memory Type: Weapon

It was a large curved blade with some beast fur on the handle, giving it a savage look as if only a crazed lunatic would wield the blade. The blade itself was created from the Wolf's remains. Sunny specifically used its teeth to make the sharp blade.

There were two enchantments on the Sacred weapon. Sacred shards were immensely powerful, and Sunny currently felt he didn't do it justice since each shard could support a massive weave, and Sunny only used around fifteen percent.

Looking at the enchantments, there were two. [Prey] and [Hunter]. Sunny looked over the descriptions once more.

Enchantment: [Prey]

Enchantment Description: [Each wound incurred by this blade strikes at the body, soul, and mind. The wounds will get worse as time passes and inflict a primal fear.]

As long as Sunny poured his essence into the blade, it would continue to wreak havoc on his enemies. However, the downside was the essence cost. Sunny wasn't Sacred, and he was without the majority of his domain.

So his essence reservoirs had real limits.

Looking at the next enchantment, it read.

Enchantment: [Hunter]

Enchantment Description: [The damage will double so long as a 'Hunter's Will' is used.]

The second enchantment was a conditional one, thus making it more powerful than any normal attacks.

He would be storing his 'Death Will' away for this battle since the blade would actually resonate with another 'Will'. Sunny was also accustomed to using this 'Will' as it was the one he used to kill the Wolf anyway.

Taking a large Shadow Step, Sunny went the opposite of Slayer and Sacred shade to meet his opponent.

Abundance was attempting to slow down the Cursed Demon, so time wasn't on his side. Either him or Slayer and the Wolf could get attacked if Abundance Shade was destroyed too quickly.

Looking at his enemy, Sunny took in the size of the Cursed Monster.

It was a large Hydra with seven heads. Each head looked distinctly different from one another, bearing different types of scars.

However, in a moment, the seven heads synced up. To release a devastating sound.

ROARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Sunny's earplugs made it impossible to hear, but the sound entered his body regardless. Feeling the bass reverbate throughout his body, Sunny looked around.

It was so loud that large cracks formed in the ground as it quaked. Holding the curved blade, Sunny launched himself forward.

With no [Shadow Lantern] Sunny made do with the shadows on the ground and formed chains around the large creature's legs. It had four powerful legs. Each is thicker than the APC armored vehicle that Sunny once rode on in the Military.

The creature was large. Easily dwarfing a small home. It was around 40 meters tall. Each of its heads was around 20 meters long, so it was twice as long as a bus or truck.

It freed itself from Sunny's chains quickly and rushed forward. It was frighteningly quick, but Sunny was about to make a quick discovery.

In an instant, the creature's head shot forward. Its speed was startling, and Sunny received his first attack.

Sunny dodged the first, second, and third strikes. He used his sword to ward off the two more strikes when the sixth one hit him squarely in the back.

A powerful head butt.

Sunny was sent flying into the Hydra's Snow domain square. Sunny felt both his powers and the Ash powers dampen. The Jade armor also received a net of cracks.

"Damnation, I really need some new armor if I'm going to fight Cursed creatures so frequently," Sunny said as he slid to a stop by stabbing his sword in the ground.

Watching the Hydra charge towards him again, he manifested a large shadow into the air. It was the most oversized blanket created, and Sunny? He hid right behind as he sent it forward. It was nearly 60 meters from end to end.

Seven heads, that's fourteen eyes. Sneak attacks won't really help, but illusions would.

Behind the oversized blanket, Sunny was calling over every shadow currently surrounding his square.

In a few seconds, Sunny created over a thousand copies of himself and retracted his 'Will' so he wouldn't be found so quickly.

The Hydra made short work of the oversized blanket. It was as if it were water by how quickly it fell apart.

The sight of the other side made it momentarily dazed. Thousands of Sunny's charging at it. Around half of them jumped as well, so they were all coming down on it.

Each head looked in a different direction, but it was too overstimulating. It was strange, but in a moment, one of the heads realized a solution.

Each shadow contained no 'Will', so instantly it released its own, subtly giving it the properties of 'Space Will'. At least one fourth of the shadow copies of Sunny were impacted and slowed. Its brothers, the other heads on the hydra, quickly followed suit, but by this point, all the Shadows were upon them.
