Chapter 7 - Mistake

Midnight.

Kael sat quietly on the couch wearing simple black pajamas. His muscular body leaned back against the cushion, but his eyes were sharp with concern.

"In the hunter network… the Slayer Guild has already cleared all the dungeons," Kael muttered quietly.

His fingers tapped slowly against his knee.

"If the other guild leaders find out about this… it could become a serious problem."

He exhaled slowly.

"Things could get dangerous for me."

Beside him, Aurelia sat comfortably with her legs folded under her. She wore an oversized white shirt and soft black dolphin shorts made of silk. Her eyes sparkled as she watched a Russian romantic series on TV.

"This show is amazing!" she said happily.

Kael rubbed his chin.

"I just need to be careful until things settle down."

Suddenly, a kissing scene appeared on the television.

Aurelia blinked.

"…What is that?"

She stared at the screen before turning toward Kael.

"My Lord, what are they doing?" she asked innocently.

Kael glanced at the television.

"That's a kiss."

Aurelia tilted her head.

"What is a kiss?"

Kael answered calmly.

"It's a way humans show deep love and loyalty to someone."

Aurelia's eyes widened.

"Really?"

She suddenly clapped her hands excitedly.

"Then I want to kiss you too, My Lord!"

Before Kael could react, Aurelia quickly climbed onto his lap and wrapped her arms around his shoulders.

Kael froze.

"W-Wait—what?"

Aurelia smiled brightly.

"I want to show my love and loyalty to you."

Then she leaned forward and pressed her lips against his.

Her tongue slipped into his mouth without hesitation.

Kael's eyes widened in shock.

"Mmm—"

His hands instinctively grabbed her waist as the sudden kiss deepened.

After a moment, Aurelia pulled away happily.

"I received a kiss from my lord!"

She hugged him tightly like a child who had just received a reward.

Kael sighed heavily.

"You're such a drama queen."

He rubbed his forehead.

Aurelia looked at him again.

"My Lord… can I sleep with you tonight?"

Kael blinked.

"…What?"

Later that night.

Kael lay on his bed staring at the ceiling.

"Why does this always happen to me…"

Aurelia was tightly cuddled against him while holding his finger like a child.

Kael sighed again.

"Good night… everyone."

Soon he drifted into sleep.

Morning.

Kael slowly opened his eyes.

Aurelia was still sleeping peacefully while gripping his finger tightly.

"She's still asleep…"

He gently pulled his hand free and stood up.

After taking a shower, he came out wearing a blue shirt.

"You awake?"

Aurelia sat up on the bed, still half-asleep. She now wore a white vest and her dolphin shorts.

She smiled sweetly.

"Good morning, My Lord."

Ding Dong.

The doorbell rang.

"That must be the maid."

Kael opened the door.

A woman stepped inside politely.

"Good morning, sir."

"Good morning, Yua," Kael replied.

Yua walked into the apartment—

—and immediately froze.

Candy wrappers.

Chocolate boxes.

Sweet packets.

The entire floor looked like a battlefield of sugar.

"…Again."

Her eye twitched.

She slowly turned her head.

Aurelia was sitting on the couch happily eating candy and casually throwing wrappers on the floor.

Aurelia glanced at her.

"Do your work."

Yua grabbed Kael's hand in frustration.

"I cannot clean her mess every single day!"

Aurelia's expression instantly darkened.

She pushed Yua away.

"You are not allowed to touch my lord."

She stepped in front of Kael like a protective guard dog.

Kael sighed and grabbed Aurelia by the hair.

"Alright, that's enough."

He dragged her toward the door.

"See you later, Yua."

Aurelia pointed angrily at her.

"I will kill you!"

SLAM.

Yua shut the door.

Then she looked at the disaster inside the apartment.

"…Back to work."

She picked up the mop with determination.

Outside the apartment.

"You need to go back now," Kael said.

Aurelia vanished instantly.

At that moment, a car stopped nearby.

"Good morning, Kael!" Kaito greeted energetically.

Kael entered the car.

"What's our job today?"

Kaito opened his tablet.

"All the dungeons are cleared. Today we just need to supervise mining in a B-rank dungeon."

Kael nodded slowly.

"Let's hope today stays quiet."

Soon they arrived at the dungeon.

"Welcome!" the miners greeted.

Kaito stepped forward.

"Everyone prepare for mining!"

Kael scanned the area.

"There are only four miners?"

One man bowed.

"My daughter is coming. Sorry for the delay."

"It's fine," Kael replied calmly.

Moments later, a girl ran toward them holding a heavy pickaxe.

"Sorry! I'm late!"

Kael glanced at the dungeon entrance suspiciously.

"Are you sure this dungeon was cleared by B-rank hunters?"

Kaito laughed confidently.

"Of course!"

The miners entered the dungeon.

Inside.

Inside the dungeon, glowing mana crystals shone within the rock walls.

"We should start mining."

The miners began their work.

Outside, Kael and Kaito sat calmly drinking coffee.

"This is amazing," Kaito said happily.

"No work and no problems."

Kael nodded.

"Moments like this are rare for hunters."

Suddenly

A luxurious car stopped nearby.

"That's my mom's car."

Kaito stood up.

Yumiko stepped out.

"Where are the miners?" she asked urgently.

"They're already mining inside," Kaito replied proudly.

SLAP

She slapped him hard.

"You always rush things!"

Kael looked at her calmly.

"What happened?"

She took a deep breath.

"There was a mistake in our information. The dungeon cleared by the B-Rank hunters was another one. This dungeon actually belongs to the Flame Guild."

Kael's eyes sharpened.

"We don't have time."

He immediately walked toward the dungeon.

"We need to save them."

"You can't enter!" she shouted.

"This dungeon belongs to the Flame Guild!"

Kael ignored her.

"I need to find them first."

He disappeared into the dungeon.

Inside the dungeon.

Heavy footsteps echoed through the cavern.

Aori looked around nervously.

"What was that?"

Her father frowned.

"Stop worrying. This dungeon was cleared already."

Then something stepped out of the shadows.

Huge orcs.

Their rough green skin was covered with scars, and they carried stone weapons.

"Humans…"

One of them licked his lips.

"Finally… food."

The miners froze in terror.

Aori threw her pickaxe at one of them.

The orc caught it.

"A toy."

He crushed the pickaxe with his foot.

"Let's eat."

Suddenly—

A sword flashed.

SHINK.

An orc's head rolled across the floor.

Kael stood there calmly.

"You'll have to stay hungry."

The orcs roared.

One of them charged.

Kael dodged the punch, grabbed the monster's arm—

—and ripped it out of the socket.

The orc screamed as blood exploded from the wound.

Kael slammed his sword through its skull.

"Too weak."

Then the Orc Leader swung his hammer.

BOOM.

Kael was smashed into the dungeon wall.

Blood ran from his mouth.

A system window appeared.

[ System Notification ]

Aurelia's rank has increased to Elite.

Kael smiled faintly.

"Manifest."

Aurelia appeared instantly.

"My Lord!"

Her eyes widened in concern.

"I'm fine," Kael said.

Then his voice turned cold.

"Kill them."

Aurelia's aura exploded.

The air itself trembled.

She vanished.

In the next second—

She grabbed an orc's head.

CRACK.

The skull collapsed like a crushed melon.

Blood and brain matter splattered across the dungeon floor.

Another orc swung a hammer.

The hammer shattered against Aurelia's hand.

"Pathetic."

She grabbed the monster's throat.

Her fingers tightened.

CRUNCH.

The neck collapsed.

She threw the corpse against the wall with such force that the body exploded into blood.

The Orc Leader roared and attacked.

Aurelia caught his hammer.

The weapon shattered in her hand.

"You dared to touch my lord."

Her voice was cold enough to freeze blood.

The orc swung his fist.

Aurelia disappeared.

Then—

BOOM.

Her punch smashed into the back of his skull.

The monster's head slammed into the ground, creating a crater.

Bones cracked.

Blood flooded the floor.

The orc twitched weakly.

Aurelia summoned dozens of floating swords.

"You do not deserve a quick death."

The blades rained down.

They pierced the orc again.

And again.

And again.

Until nothing remained but shredded flesh.

A new system screen appeared.

[ LEVEL UP ]

Kael nodded.

"Use the stats."

Aurelia rushed to him.

"My Lord! Are you injured?!"

"I'm fine."

Kael turned to the miners.

"I apologize for our guild's mistake."

He escorted them outside.

Outside the dungeon stood a man in an expensive suit.

"So… you are Kael."

His eyes were sharp.

"You entered my guild's dungeon."

Kael replied calmly.

"Miners were in danger."

The man smiled slowly.

"No one speaks to me like that."

"My name is Sajutoro Hayima."

He offered a handshake.

Kael walked past him.

"I need to check the miners first."

Sajutoro's secretary whispered,

"That's the hunter I told you about. The one who cleared an entire week's dungeons in a single day."

Sajutoro smiled.

"Interesting."

Yumiko folded her arms under her large breasts and let out a small breath.

"I hope everything goes okay," she said quietly before climbing into the car and leaving.

Meanwhile.

Kaito stood inside a convenience store.

"I'm single, you know," he said confidently to the cashier.

The woman smiled politely.

"Sir… you are disturbing customers."

"And I have a five-year-old son."

Kaito froze.

"…That's fine."

He slowly walked out of the store.

On the other side, Kael walked toward the miners.

"I hope all of you are alright," he said calmly before handing them their payment.

One of the miners accepted the money respectfully.

"Thank you, sir," he said with gratitude.

Kael gave a small smile.

"It's fine. This entire situation happened because of our guild's mistake. I'm just glad I arrived in time and that everyone is safe."

The miners nodded gratefully.

Meanwhile, inside a luxurious black car nearby…

Sajutoro sat comfortably in the back seat, his posture relaxed yet commanding. His sharp eyes stared out the window toward the dungeon entrance.

"That boy is quite interesting," he said with an amused smile.

Beside him sat his secretary.

She was a striking woman dressed in a tight black office suit that perfectly outlined her elegant figure. Her long legs crossed smoothly, the slit of her skirt revealing smooth skin. A pair of thin glasses rested on her nose while her dark hair flowed neatly over her shoulders.

Her mature beauty gave her an intimidating charm.

She adjusted her glasses calmly.

"We should proceed carefully," she said in a composed voice.

"There is very little information about that hunter. Making the wrong move without understanding him could create unnecessary problems."

Sajutoro chuckled softly.

"It doesn't matter."

He leaned back in his seat confidently.

"If he tries to do something foolish…"

Suddenly—

A powerful yellow aura burst out from his body, filling the inside of the car with oppressive pressure.

"…then he will face the anger of an S-Rank Hunter."

The air inside the car trembled slightly from the sheer force of his power.

His secretary looked at him silently.
