Kael steps forward instantly.
"You shoot her and we all die."
Veyron doesn't lower the weapon.
"Then we reset."
Aria looks at him.
"That's the problem."
Veyron frowns.
"What?"
Aria whispers.
"You already did."
She raises her hand.
The chamber walls suddenly fill with images.
Worlds burning.
Cities collapsing.
Stars dying.
Different versions of reality ending.
Again.
And again.
And again.
Jonas stares.
"…that's a lot of bad endings."
Elias whispers.
"The loop."
Seraphine nods.
"Yes."
Aria continues softly.
"The universe keeps trying to fix itself."
Future Kael asks.
"And fails."
