Chapter 8 - Planet Ruler

The transition from the simulated carnage of the City of Ash to the pristine, sterile luxury of the Virtual Universe: Black Dragon Bar was enough to give a lesser warrior spatial vertigo.

Kaelen Voss sat in a high-backed chair made of "Memory-Silk," a material that adjusted its molecular density to perfectly support his Star-Rank frame. Across from him, the neon-violet skyline of the Ganwu Empire's digital capital pulsed like a living heart.

"You took a massive risk killing a Huntsman in the qualifiers," Serafina said. She had traded her nebula-scale armor for a simple, flowing gown of white light. She looked less like a warrior and more like the Princess she had once been. "My father's sensors are tuned to the 'death-cry' of his assassins. He knows a threat has appeared in the Ganwu Kingdom."

Kaelen swirled a glass of "Amber-Star Liquid"—a digital drink that simulated the sensation of swallowing a solar flare. "Let him search. He is looking for a God-King. He isn't looking for a Star-Rank Level 4 playing in a sandbox tournament."

"The Pagoda," Kaelen continued, his voice dropping. "You said you hid it. Why?"

Serafina leaned forward, her golden clockwork eyes spinning. "Because the Pagoda isn't just a storage tool, Kaelen. It is a Multiversal Seed. My father wanted it to restart the 'Big Bang' of the Origin Realm and mold it in his image. I stole it to give the multiverse a chance to breathe. And I gave it to you because you were the only ruler who actually gave a damn about the sectors you conquered."

She stood up, the digital wind catching her hair. "The Ganwu officials are about to announce the rewards for the Top 100. You won't just get credits, Kaelen. You've earned Territory. Use it. Hide there. Build something the Emperor can't ignore."

The Reward of the Conqueror

Twelve hours later, Kaelen stood in the Grand Hall of the Ganwu Palace. A holographic scroll unfurled before him, signed by the Universe Master who had scouted him.

[CONGRATULATIONS, VOID-EATER. FOR ACHIEVING RANK 1 IN BATTLE ZONE 0041, YOU ARE GRANTED THE FOLLOWING:]

[1,000,000 MIXED ELEMENTS (CURRENCY)]

[A 'D9-GRADE' CLOUD-DWELLER BATTLE SUIT]

[GOVERNORSHIP OF PLANET X-311 (WILD CATEGORY)]

"Planet X-311," the official said, looking down at Kaelen. "It is a mid-tier Wild Planet. High oxygen, triple-standard gravity, and overrun by Beast Lords up to the Universe Rank. It was scheduled for planetary purging, but it is yours now. Do whatever you wish with it. Just ensure the tribute flows to the Empire once every thousand years."

Kaelen bowed slightly—not out of respect, but to hide the predatory grin on his face. A Wild Planet. A world of monsters. Perfect.

Planet X-311: The Crucible of Beasts

Three days later, the Blood-Hawk breached the atmosphere of X-311. Below lay a world of emerald jungles so dense they looked like solid earth from space. Massive, winged shadows—creatures with wingspans of three hundred meters—soared through the clouds, their roars vibrating the ship's hull.

"Aria, scan for the strongest life-signature on the planet," Kaelen commanded.

[SEARCHING... PRIMARY ANOMALY DETECTED IN THE 'FORBIDDEN RIFT.' BIOMETRIC MATCH: A 'THUNDER-MANE CHIMERA.' RANK: UNIVERSE LEVEL 2.]

"Land me there," Kaelen said.

The ship touched down in a clearing of giant, obsidian-like trees. The air was thick with the scent of ozone and ancient blood. Before the ramp even touched the ground, a roar shook the forest, snapping trees like dry twigs.

Out of the jungle stepped the Chimera. It stood forty meters tall, with three heads—one a lion of pure lightning, one a serpent of acidic mist, and one a goat of shifting stone. It was the undisputed king of X-311.

Kaelen walked down the ramp. He looked like a speck of dust compared to the beast.

The Chimera didn't hesitate. The lightning head opened its jaws, and a bolt of white-hot plasma arched toward Kaelen.

"Gravity Law: Singularity Shield."

The plasma hit an invisible wall and swirled into a tiny black dot in front of Kaelen's palm. He didn't even flinch.

"Listen to me, beast," Kaelen said, his voice amplified by his Spirit Reader willpower, projected directly into the Chimera's primitive mind. "I am not here to hunt you. I am here to be your God."

The Chimera roared again, charging with the weight of a falling skyscraper.

Kaelen's eyes turned cold. He didn't use a weapon. He unleashed his True God Willpower—the mental weight of a man who had once ruled ten thousand galaxies.

The pressure hit the Chimera like a physical hammer. The beast's three heads slammed into the dirt. Its massive legs buckled. It wasn't gravity holding it down; it was Soul-Crushing Terror. It felt as if a Black Hole had just grown a human face.

"I will give you a choice," Kaelen said, walking toward the trembling beast. He placed his hand on the lion-head's snout. "Serve me, and I will use the Pagoda's Essence to evolve you. You will no longer be a 'Beast Lord' on a backwater rock. You will be a Cosmic Devourer, feared across the Ganwu Kingdom."

He tapped into the Void-Shattering Pagoda in his soul. A single drop of Original Gene Fluid—the stuff of stars—dripped from his fingertip into the Chimera's scales.

The transformation was violent. The Chimera's bones cracked and grew. Its lightning turned from white to a terrifying, void-black. Its eyes sparked with newfound intelligence.

[EVOLUTION COMPLETE: VOID-THUNDER EMPEROR BEAST.]

[RANK: UNIVERSE LEVEL 5 (PROMOTED).]

The beast didn't roar this time. It lowered its heads, touching the ground in front of Kaelen's boots.

"Good," Kaelen said. "Now, go. Round up the other Beast Lords. Tell them the King has returned. Tell them we are building an army that will swallow the sky."

The Rise of the Void-Legion

Over the next month, Planet X-311 transformed.

Using the resources he won from the tournament and the ancient knowledge stored in his soul, Kaelen set up a "Genetic Resonance Field" across the planet. Every beast on the world, from the smallest insect to the largest Leviathan, began to evolve at a rate that defied biology.

He didn't just have a planet. He had a Living Arsenal.

The Aerial Division: Ten thousand "Shadow-Wings," evolved to Star Rank, capable of cloaking themselves in the vacuum of space.

The Ground Corps: Armored "Titan-Beetles" with hulls made of C-Grade Alloy, capable of shrugging off railgun fire.

The Elite Guard: Twelve "Universe-Level" Beast Lords, led by the Void-Thunder Chimera, all bonded to Kaelen's soul.

Kaelen stood on the peak of the highest mountain, watching his army grow. In the sky above, the Blood-Hawk was being refitted with parts from his fallen enemies.

"The Ganwu Kingdom thinks I am a student," Kaelen whispered to the wind. "The Aeon Emperor thinks I am a ghost."

He looked at his hand, where the Space-Law was now so integrated that he could see the ripples of the universe's breath.

"By the time the next round of the tournament begins, I won't just be a contestant," Kaelen said, his eyes glowing with a dark, eternal fire. "I will be a Commander. And this planet will be the first star in my new empire."

[INCOMING TRANSMISSION: VIRTUAL UNIVERSE NETWORK]

[Serafina: "Kaelen, the Emperor has sent a 'Galaxy-Class' fleet to the Ganwu borders. They are looking for 'The Void-Eater.' They're coming to your sector."]

Kaelen's smile was sharp enough to cut the air.

"Let them come," he replied. "My pets are hungry."
