Chapter 108 - Chapter 105: Fight

Keifer POV

For a second… everything was normal.

Then it wasn't.

One moment we were laughing inside Eman's restaurant.

Next moment—

glass shattered.

Screaming.

Movement outside the window.

I stood up before I even realized I was moving.

"Jay—"

But she was already gone.

Of course she was.

I ran out with the others.

Felix looked confused.

Yuri looked scared.

David looked like he was deciding whether life was worth it.

Ci-n just shouted something I didn't even hear properly.

And then I saw her.

Jay.

Outside.

Not running.

Not hiding.

Standing like she already knew what was going to happen.

That was the first thing that felt wrong.

She didn't look surprised.

Then everything exploded.

People came in too fast.

Too many.

Not random.

Organized.

I grabbed someone by the shoulder and pulled them back before they hit a table.

But my eyes kept going back to her.

Jay.

Moving too fast.

Too precise.

Like she wasn't reacting.

Like she was responding.

Then I saw the bottle.

A man behind Ci-n.

Arm raised.

Ready to swing.

I shouted.

"CI-N!"

But Jay was already moving.

Her hand went up.

The bottle hit it.

Hard.

Too hard.

I saw her wince.

Just for a second.

Then she kicked him back like it meant nothing.

And that's when my brain stopped trying to make excuses.

That wasn't normal.

Not even close.

The attackers started backing off.

Too many people.

Too much attention.

Cowards when things got loud.

And suddenly—

silence.

Broken plates.

Heavy breathing.

Everyone trying to understand what just happened.

Ci-n looked at her first.

"You… blocked that with your hand…"

Jay didn't even react properly.

"Don't be dramatic."

But I was already staring.

Because something inside me was shifting.

I stepped closer.

Slow.

Careful.

Like she might disappear if I moved too fast.

"What was that?"

My voice came out sharper than I expected.

She looked at me.

Just for a second.

Then at everyone else.

Like she was measuring how much they'd seen.

And then she said it.

Not an answer.

A deflection.

"What do you think you were doing outside to help?"

Silence.

No one answered.

Because none of us had one.

Whatever just happened outside that restaurant…

wasn't the beginning.

It was just the part we finally got to see.
