The Mudblood Alchemist is not being dropped. Regular updates continue as scheduled. This is a second project I've been building alongside it.
The 37th Tier is a self-insert set in Avatar: The Last Airbender. Here's the synopsis:
An airbender who can't fight is just a monk who's really good at running away. The Air Nomads have known this for two hundred years and considered it a virtue.
Sonam, who died in the 21st century and woke up at the Southern Air Temple, knows it's a death sentence. He has twelve years before Sozin's Comet, a head full of memories from a world where this one was a TV show, and the growing suspicion that every single person he's ever met in this life is going to burn because their culture decided that fighting back was beneath them.
The temples have thirty-six tiers of airbending. He's building the thirty-seventh, but the monks would rather exile him than learn it.
If you liked The Mudblood Alchemist, this is the same kind of story at its core. Rowan is trying to prepare the wizarding world before Grindelwald arrives. Sonam is trying to prepare the Air Nomads before Sozin's Comet arrives. Same ticking clock, same foreknowledge nobody believes, same attention to worldbuilding and canon research.
Three differences worth mentioning:
1. This story is written in first person. I'll be honest, choosing third person for The Mudblood Alchemist was a mistake. I lost a lot of potential creativity and voice doing it that way, and I wanted to fix that this time around.
2. The 37th Tier will occasionally shift to other POV characters. Most of the story is Sonam's first person perspective, but certain chapters are told from the outside, including characters like Sozin, Bumi, and the Dai Li. The Mudblood Alchemist stays with Rowan the whole time. This story needs the wider lens because the world is changing in ways the MC can't always see from where he's standing.
3. The timeskips are bigger. The Mudblood Alchemist skips across months. The 37th Tier skips across years. The MC has twelve years before the comet and decades of story after it, so the pacing moves at a different scale.
