Chirp! chirp!
Gradually, one by one, Cayde's senses were returning, the first was his hearing, he could hear birds chirping in the distance, the sound of the gentle wind felt like a melody, and his eyes opened moments later.
"Urghh..." Cayde grunted as his eyes was adjusting to the light, he then moved his right hand to cover his eyes.
My hand.. Im alive..
"Haha.. This is, what you call, a reincarnation.." Cayde said to himself, chuckling at the absurdity of his situation.
He was surrounded by trees, the soil was uneven, and protruding roots were everywhere, it's obvious that Cayde woke up in the middle of a forest.
For a fantasy addict like me.. Isn't this the best thing i could hope for?!
My body.. I can fully control them now, it seems like i've fully regained my conciousness..
"Hupp!"
Cayde raised his body and sat on the grass below. He finally saw what's around him, and different from what he expected, it wasn't as beautiful as he thought.
"W- what.." Cayde's stomach instantly tightened as his eyes met with the gruesome scene infront of him, there was an approximately 6 corpses, all of them were male and mutilated into a grotesque mess of flesh and blood.
Some of them lost their arm, some lost their legs and even half of their body. Their organs spilled out, their blood hasn't dried yet, and their eyes were still open as if they're still alive.
Medieval clothes.. So this is indeed a fantasy world, that's one of my doubts cleared..

The inside of Cayde's stomach was churning, he almost threw up, and the fact that the smell of those corpses were beyond horrible only makes everything worse for him.
Tch- What the hell happened here.. W- wait! Don't tell me!
Cayde then looked down, he noticed that he was wearing some sort of an adventurer clothes, donned in casual tunic, leather armor, a satchel, and a dagger beside on the ground beside him.
But the clothes itself wasn't the reason why Cayde frowned and furrowed his eyebrows, no, it was the blood stains that covered his entire outfit.
As i thought.. I already had a guts about it when i first woke up.. My voice, and my hands, they're all different from my previous life.
There's no doubt about it, i possessed this guy's body after he died..
Cayde was right, his voice were different, if he sounded like a normal guy in his twenties back on earth, then in here he sounded more like a rough gentleman who have smoked countless cigarretes, though theres no cigarretes in a medieval world.
After realizing his situation, Cayde then proceeded to ignore the blood stains for the time being and instead focus on his surrounding, if he possessed a dead person, that means the killer might be still nearby.
Shit.. I got reincarnated and this is my starting tutorial?!.. Talk about hard difficulty..
Cayde grabbed the dagger beside him and he put it up on the same level as his eyes. He checked around, slowly walking in a circle, focusing his hearing senses for any sounds.
I might not be experienced in combat, but i won't let my second life end this quickly.. Atleast, if i want to survive for long, i will have to upgrade my skills and keep surviving dangerous situation.
Cayde kept circling for a few seconds, when nothing was caught in his vision, he eventually lowered his stance.
I guess im safe for now.. Hm?..
It was subtle, but Cayde was sure that he saw something.
Behind the bushes on his left side, a white object was briefly spotted at the corner of his eyes. Curious by what it is, Cayde then pushed the bushes away and he stepped forward.
What he saw was yet again, something that he didn't expect. It wasn't an object, but rather a person.
Laying down infront of him, bathed in blood and an axe lodged in her head, was a young girl with white long hair, and a tail that looks to be a wolf, she also has a wolf ears upon closer inspection.
Long pants, clothes that seems to be made for winter, and an iron pauldron, this wolf girl looked like a fighter no matter how Cayde sees it.
Is she.. a demihuman?!..
Cayde immediately knew who she was, a demihuman, a sub-human race that's mixed with animal characteristics.
But what he didn't know was what this demihuman doing here. From the looks of it, he was sure she was also a victim, but why is she twitching as if she was still alive?
She's dead right?.. No no, she's definitely dead..
"Urghh.." Suddenly, the demihuman girl grunted, her voice sounded beautiful, a perfect pitch, and a perfect body at that.
"H- Huh?!.. What.." Cayde whispered, but his face was as shocked as it could be.
S- SHE WOKE UP...
The demihuman girl then raised her body, and out of nowhere, the axe that was lodged inside her skull began to slowly slip from her head, the weapon fell and she's now sitting beneath the grass just like Cayde earlier.
At first, Cayde was confused, he didn't know what to do, who would've expected to see someone resurrecting from the dead.. Should he say something? Or should he interrogate her?.
In any case.. I should be careful.
Cayde prepared his dagger, he was ready to strike at any moment. When suddenly, he heard the demihuman girl saying something unbelievable.
"H- huh.. W- whuh!? W- where am i.. Wait, my voice?!.." She said, her tone definitely sounded like she was also confused. "H- HUH!? Did i, got reincarnated?!—
"D- damn! This is a dream come true isn't it?! Holy crap.. I've turned into a girl?! Really?.. Uhh, thankfully Cayde isn't here, because he would've laughed if he saw me like this.."
"HAHH!?" Cayde unconciously shouted, he was way too shocked to be quiet after hearing that from the demihuman girl.
WHAT DID SHE SAY?!
"Huh? UAAAAHH!!" The demihuman girl looked back and instantly went into shock as she met with Cayde, now having a different face and voice. "W- WH- WHO ARE YOU!?"
Cayde was speechless for a moment, he didn't reply immediately, and it only made the demihuman girl even more wary, but when he had calmed down again, he wasted no time and went straight to asking.
"That name.. Cayde— Are you.. Eito?.." He said, his pupils were shaking and his right hand gradually pointing towards the demihuman girl.
"H- huh..." The demihuman girl paused. She also couldn't believe it, with a heavy breath and stuttering voice that sounded cute, she then said, "C- Cayde?..."
"...Huh?"
"...Hah?.."
