Chapter 5 - This can't be real!

Damien didn't answer.

He simply walked out of the massive living room while Jessica and the two burly men followed closely behind them.

Aria continued shouting the entire way.

But Damien ignored every word.

By the time Damien finally stopped walking, they were far away from the mansion.

Without any warning....he dropped her.

Thud.

Aria hit the ground roughly.

"W...wh..."

The words died in her throat.

She didn't need anyone to tell her where she was.

Her body went cold.

They were standing in a cemetery.

Her father's cemetery.

The place he built to bury the people he personally sentenced to death.

He never gave them proper funerals, returned their bodies to their families, never allowed anyone to mourn them.

To him, they were nothing more than traitors and offenders.

So he buried them here, In his private cemetery.

Why… did Damien bring me here? Aria thought Inwardly.

She had never stepped into the cemetery in all her life.

Not once.

She hated everything her father did. Every execution, cruel punishment, every scream that echoed through the mansion whenever someone was dragged away for "betrayal."

But despite the hatred boiling inside her heart, she never dared to say a word against him.

Her father was a man no one challenged.

Not even his own family.

So instead of openly rebelling, Aria chose a different path.

Whenever her father executed someone and buried their body here, Aria would secretly investigate their families.

And later, without anyone knowing, she would send money, food, clothes, and sometimes even pay for the education of their children.

But she never revealed her identity.

The families always believed the help came from some mysterious good Samaritan.

If only they knew the truth…

That the help was coming from the daughter of the very monster who destroyed their lives.

A shiver ran down Aria's spine as she stared at the endless rows of graves.

Her chest tightened painfully.

"Why are we here…?"

Her voice finally broke the suffocating silence.

Tears continued sliding down her cheeks as fear clawed mercilessly at her heart.

She slowly turned to Damien, her eyes trembling with confusion.

"I only asked about my father… my stepsister… and the servants," she said weakly.

Her voice cracked slightly.

"So why the hell did you bring me here, Damien?"

For a moment, Damien didn't answer.

He simply stood there with his hands inside the pockets of his trouser, his expression unreadable under the dim moonlight.

Then he tilted his head slightly.

"Can't you see?"

His tone was calm.

"I brought you here to meet them."

Aria frowned, confusion deepening.

"Meet… them?"

Damien's lips slowly curved into a faint smile.

"Your father."

"Your stepsister."

"And the two hundred servants who used to work in your mansion."

Shock exploded through Aria's body.

"What…?"

Her voice barely came out as a whisper.

Her eyes widened in horror.

Just then, almost as if guided by instinct, Aria slowly turned her gaze toward the cemetery.

And that was when she noticed it.

Several graves looked… different.

The soil on them was fresh, dark and wet as if they had been dug only a few hours ago.

Her heartbeat suddenly began racing as her eyes moved slowly across the rows of graves.

Then her body froze.

Her father's name was carved into one of the tombstones.

Right beside it was stepsister's name and around them were hundreds of other graves.

Each one newly buried.

Each one belonging to someone who once lived in her father's mansion.

"No…"

Aria voice trembled.

"No… no… no…"

Suddenly, she screamed.

"This is not true!!!"

Her voice echoed across the silent cemetery.

"This can never be true!!!"

In a burst of desperation, Aria staggered to her feet and rushed toward Damien.

She grabbed his collar tightly, her fingers clutching the fabric.

Her eyes burned with anger, grief, and disbelief.

"What the hell did you do to my father and sister?!" she shouted, her voice shaking uncontrollably.

"Are you playing games with me, Damien?!"

Her grip tightened.

"If you are, then stop this right now!"

Her voice cracked as fresh tears spilled down her cheeks.

"Because this game isn't funny!!!"

Damien slowly looked down at the hands gripping his collar.

Then he lifted his gaze back to her face.

His expression was cold.

"Does this look like a game to you, Aria Wilson?"

Aria froze.

Damien leaned slightly closer, his cold breath brushing against her face.

"Oh wait…"

A faint smirk appeared on his lips.

"You're no longer a Wilson."

His eyes darkened.

"And that… right there…"

His voice dropped lower.

"Was your saving grace."

Aria's breath caught.

"Because if you still carried that name…"

His gaze turned toward the graves.

"You would have met the exact same damn fate."

Aria's grip on his collar loosened.

Her hands slowly dropped to her sides.

"No…"

She whispered under her breath.

"This… can't be real…"

Her entire body shook uncontrollably.

Shock, Fear and grief.

All of it crashed into her at once.

The world around her suddenly felt distant.

Blurred.

Then suddenly....her body collapsed as everything turned black.

Aria fell forward, losing consciousness before she could even hit the ground.

But as she fell…

Her hand instinctively moved to her stomach.

Clutching it protectively.

As if afraid that the tiny life growing inside her might somehow slip away because of the overwhelming shock.
