"Where were you?" Sumie demanded the moment Jeigan entered the house.
"Why are you so late? Answer me."
Jeigan scratched the back of his head nervously.
"Mom… actually… today at the university I accidentally bumped into a girl."
Rudan immediately smirked.
"A girl, huh? That sounds like the beginning of first love."
Sumie shot him an angry look.
"Do you want me to show you what first love looks like?"
"Stay quiet."
Rudan raised his hands in surrender.
"Alright, Madam."
Sumie turned back to Jeigan.
"Continue. What happened next?"
Jeigan sighed.
"I asked her if she was okay. Then we started talking and… somehow we became friends."
"Later I learned her name."
"Her name is Jinha."
Sumie nodded slowly.
"I see… then what happened?"
"I couldn't find the hall where the ceremony was happening," Jeigan explained.
"So she guided me there."
"She's a second-year student."
"After that a lot of things happened in the hall… but I'll tell you that part another time."
He paused before continuing.
"After the meeting ended, we went to eat something."
"And then…"
Jeigan hesitated.
"Jinha asked if she could touch my soul."
"I said yes."
Rudan's expression instantly changed.
"Don't tell me…"
"She actually touched your soul."
Jeigan shook his head.
"She tried."
Sumie gasped in shock.
"What are you saying?!"
Rudan grabbed Jeigan's shoulders anxiously.
"Jeigan! Tell me quickly!"
"The girl is alive, right?!"
"Yes, Dad," Jeigan replied quickly.
"She's completely fine."
"But when she tried to touch my soul… she suddenly fainted."
"So I activated Deal of Horse Power and took her to the hospital."
"And later I dropped her home."
"That's why I came back late."
Sumie let out a deep breath of relief.
"Thank God…"
"Nothing serious happened to that girl."
Jeigan frowned slightly.
"But Mom… Dad… why were you talking about whether she was alive or not?"
"When I said she tried to touch my soul, Dad immediately got worried."
"Why?"
Rudan forced an awkward smile.
"No reason."
"I just thought that if her soul was weaker than yours… she might have died."
Jeigan narrowed his eyes.
"No."
"You're hiding something from me."
"She's extremely powerful."
"My soul shouldn't have affected her at all."
"Dad… what are you hiding?"
Rudan quickly looked away.
"I'm not hiding anything."
"Sumie, please explain it to him."
Sumie stepped forward.
"That's enough, Jeigan."
"You did a good thing by helping that girl today."
"But from now on…"
"Never allow anyone to touch your soul again."
"Now come and eat dinner."
Jeigan swallowed nervously.
I can't tell them I already had dinner at Jinha's house…
Mom will definitely get angry.
Looks like I have no choice but to eat again.
After finishing dinner, Jeigan rubbed his stomach.
"Ugh… I feel like my stomach is going to explode."
"I'm really sleepy."
"Mom, Dad… I'm going to bed."
"Good night."
"Good night," Sumie replied.
"And make sure you close the window properly before sleeping."
"Yes, Mom."
Jeigan lay down on his bed, staring at the ceiling.
Mom and Dad are definitely hiding something.
I have to find out what it is.
Soon his eyes slowly closed.
Meanwhile in the dining room…
Sumie spoke quietly.
"Don't you think we should tell him the truth?"
Rudan shook his head.
"No."
"Not yet."
"If we tell him now, he could be in danger."
"And we still don't fully understand his power."
"So it's too early."
Sumie sighed.
"You're right."
"Let's go to sleep."
"I'm very tired."
Deep in the night…
Jeigan suddenly found himself standing in complete darkness.
"Why is it so dark…?"
He slowly walked forward.
His hand touched something wet and sticky.
"What is this…?"
He lifted his hand.
Blood.
"So much blood…"
"Where did this come from?"
He stepped forward and accidentally hit something with his foot.
"What was that?"
He noticed a small button on the wall.
"Maybe this will turn on the light."
He pressed it.
The room instantly flooded with bright light.
Jeigan froze.
The entire house was filled with blood.
And lying on the floor…
were his parents.
"Mom… Dad…?"
His voice trembled.
"No…"
"This can't be real."
"Mom! Dad! You can't leave me!"
Tears streamed down his face.
Then he noticed another body.
"Jinha…!"
"What happened to you?!"
"Why is this happening?!"
Suddenly a deep voice echoed through the darkness.
"Why are you crying, child?"
Jeigan froze.
"Who's there?!"
The voice replied calmly.
"I am JodenNious…"
"The Second Devil King."
Jeigan looked around desperately.
"Where are you?"
"I can't see you."
"You will see me when the time comes."
Jeigan clenched his fists.
"What do you want from me?"
"And why are my parents and Jinha lying here like this?"
The voice spoke slowly.
"I want you…"
"To become the First King of Devils."
Jeigan stared into the darkness.
"Why me?"
"Because only you are worthy."
"But why you are worthy…"
"I cannot tell you yet."
"You are the only one who can become the First King."
Jeigan frowned.
"Why should I become a king?"
"And even if I do… what will I do?"
"That answer cannot be given here."
"If you want to know the truth…"
"Come to the highest garden of Mount Dieasgo."
"A place where no one goes."
"I will tell you everything there."
The voice slowly faded.
"Dawn is coming."
"I will be waiting for you."
"Until we meet again."
