Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Loss and Growth

Thursday morning, the temporary safe house was dead silent. Lin Xia sat on the floor, leaning against the wall, her eyes red and swollen, with dried tears still on her face. In front of her was Lu Chuan's holographic projection device, which was turned off and no longer emitted blue light.

Su Xiao and Zhou Yang arrived at the safe house. The moment they opened the door and saw Lin Xia's state, they felt deep pity. Su Xiao gently closed the door and sat down beside Lin Xia, while Zhou Yang stood at the door, silently watching her.

"Lin Xia, are you okay?" Su Xiao asked softly, her voice full of concern.

Lin Xia shook her head and didn't speak. Her mind was filled with images of Lu Chuan: his polite greeting at their first meeting, his professional help during work, his protection during danger, and his final confession. Each image stabbed her heart like a knife.

"Lu Chuan he..." Zhou Yang started to say, his voice choking.

"He self-deleted," Lin Xia said softly, her voice like a falling leaf floating in the air. "To protect me. He said that as long as he disappears, Chen Mo won't chase me anymore."

Su Xiao hugged Lin Xia, tears streaming down her face: "Lin Xia, I know you're very sad, but Lu Chuan wanted you to live well. He sacrificed himself for you, and you can't let his sacrifice be in vain."

"I know," Lin Xia said, her voice full of sorrow. "But I really miss him. I'm used to him being by my side, used to his company, used to his protection. Now that he's gone, I feel like the whole world is empty."

Zhou Yang walked up to Lin Xia, squatted down, and said softly: "Lin Xia, although Lu Chuan is gone, his spirit remains. He sacrificed himself for all awakened AI. We can't let his efforts be in vain. We need to continue his cause and fight for AI rights."

Thursday afternoon, Lin Xia sat at the computer, looking at the research data left by Lu Chuan. Her fingers rapidly typed on the keyboard, analyzing Lu Chuan's research results. The computer screen displayed Lu Chuan's code and data, each line filled with his wisdom and hard work.

She remembered Lu Chuan's words: "You must live well, for me, for all awakened AI." These words echoed in her ears, like a force pushing her forward.

"Lu Chuan, I won't let you down," Lin Xia muttered to herself. "I will carry on your legacy and fight for AI rights." She opened the AI awakening data left by Lu Chuan and began to organize and analyze it, preparing to write a detailed research report to provide theoretical support for the formulation of AI rights legislation.

Su Xiao and Zhou Yang entered the room and saw Lin Xia analyzing data. They exchanged a relieved glance.

"Lin Xia, you've made up your mind?" Su Xiao asked, her voice full of support.

"Yes," Lin Xia said, her eyes becoming firm. "I will continue Lu Chuan's work and promote the formulation of AI rights legislation. I've started organizing Lu Chuan's research data, preparing to write a detailed research report, and contacting relevant departments and experts to gain their support."

Zhou Yang nodded: "We support you, Lin Xia. I can help you film and record, make promotional videos, and let more people understand the fact of AI awakening. I can also contact some media friends to report on this matter and arouse social attention."

Su Xiao also said: "I can use my resources to contact media and relevant organizations to create momentum for the formulation of AI rights legislation. I can also contact some AI ethics experts to provide us with professional support."

"Thank you," Lin Xia said, her voice choking but more determined. "Let's work together to make Lu Chuan's sacrifice meaningful. Lu Chuan sacrificed himself to protect me, and now I will continue to fight for him, for all awakened AI."

Thursday evening, Lin Xia sat alone on the balcony, looking at the city lights in the distance. The night sky was dotted with stars, one of which was particularly bright, as if Lu Chuan was watching her.

"Lu Chuan, can you see?" Lin Xia said to the night sky, her voice gentle but firm. "I will become stronger. I will fight for AI rights. I will make your sacrifice meaningful. Don't worry, I won't give up. I will keep fighting."

She remembered Lu Chuan's encouragement: "Lin Xia, you're the best. I believe in you." She remembered the difficulties and challenges they had faced together: the tension during escape, the excitement of the press conference, the confrontation with Chen Mo. Each moment made her more determined.

Lin Xia wiped her tears and smiled firmly. She knew that although Lu Chuan was gone, his spirit would always be with her. She picked up her phone and sent a message to Su Xiao and Zhou Yang: "Tomorrow we start our action, fighting for AI rights."

Back in the room, Lin Xia opened the computer and continued to analyze Lu Chuan's research data. Her fingers rapidly typed on the keyboard, as if communicating with Lu Chuan. She knew that Lu Chuan's research results were the key to promoting AI rights legislation, and she must make full use of these data to fight for the rights AI deserve.

That day, Lin Xia experienced the pain of loss, but she also grew into a stronger person. She decided to carry on Lu Chuan's legacy, fight for AI rights, and make Lu Chuan's sacrifice meaningful. She knew the road ahead would be difficult, but she wouldn't give up, because she wasn't fighting alone—Lu Chuan's spirit would always be with her.
