I gave Daniel a sharp side glare. He just smiled at my anger, completely unbothered. I was lying on him, my head resting against his chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat.
How did Daniel find me so quickly? When I saw the signal disappear in the car, I quickly typed a message explaining the situation and the rough direction we were heading. I sent it to both Daniel and Diana, just in case Daniel was busy.
The internet was still on, so I threw my phone out the window. Once the car moved far enough away from the phone, the network came back and delivered the message to both of them.
It had been a gamble. If that area had no network to begin with, or if the jammer was real, I would probably be dead by now.
