Chapter 5 - Chapter 4

Alexander and Demon-B stood stunned by what Alexander had just done. They were even more stupefied that he had no idea how he had managed it.

Alexander turned and walked away from his previous position. He made a portal with his blood, and it led them to an abandoned train station.

Demon-B: "Can you at least tell me what you think happened?"

Alexander: "I think I accidentally reached 100."

Demon-B: "So that's the so-called 100, huh? Fascinating."

Alexander: "What did it look like from the other side?"

Demon-B: "Terrifying for me, but beautiful, really. For an instant, everything looked perfectly correct and organized. It was as if the universe itself was working in your favor, and I did nothing to cause it. It's a hidden power. We should use this to our advantage. I'll look for something to clarify it."

Alexander: "For the first time in my life, it felt like I was doing everything correctly…"

Alexander walked the length of the old railway until he spotted a maintenance room. He entered it and found an old post filled with outdated devices, cameras, and ancient computers. It looked like an abandoned control station. Inside was a bed and what appeared to be an old apartment.

Demon-B: "It may look rough, but it's actually not bad."

Alexander: "Yeah, it has spider webs everywhere and roaches, but it's fine."

Alexander began cleaning the entire room from floor to ceiling. Then he started the generator, which lit up everything. As he looked behind it, he noticed there were only two tanks of gas left to keep it running. The computer booted up, and Demon-B asked:

Demon-B: "We're going to need more of this."

Alexander: "Yes, but how can we buy it?"

Demon-B: "Who said anything about buying it? We can steal it."

Alexander: "What? No, we will not steal from anybody."

Demon-B: "I mean we can use justice for this one."

Alexander: "...?"

Demon-B: "We can rob from bad people. Don't you think that's a great idea?"

Alexander: "Well, it's not the best idea, but I can agree to that."

Demon-B: "First, we need to upgrade your computer. This thing looks like it's a thousand years old. So we need to take something from the bad guys. Search for someone wanted by the I.I.H."

Alexander: "I can search on the Internet."

Demon-B: "You don't have anything that can connect to it?"

Alexander: "I have my personal satellite."

Demon-B: "What? And how could I not see that in your memory?"

Alexander: "Well, I'm sorry you didn't reach that memory, but I'm a kid with a super-rich dad who has issues… a lot of issues."

Demon-B: "Fine. Do what you want, but don't get yourself spotted."

Alexander: "For now, they won't think of it so easily, because there's a law that prevents them from accessing my personal data."

Demon-B: "This is not a bad law after all."

Alexander searched the list of the most recent people wanted by the I.I.H. near his city. He found someone in the tech-military sector and several accomplices.

Demon-B: "This is our guy."

Alexander: "Okay, so what now?"

Demon-B: "It says his crimes came from a nearby city and he hasn't been caught yet. My plan is to wait until nightfall. When someone bad shows up, we'll get to him and ask some questions."

Alexander: "Okay, but what am I going to do until then?"

Demon-B: "Sleeping is your best option."

Alexander: "Wow, what a great idea."

Demon-B: "Suit yourself. I'm going to take a nap."

Alexander: "What? You can even do that? Demon-B!? …Okay, he really left me alone for this one."

Alexander walked over to the bed behind him, lay down, and started to sleep. The narrator thought: Now is the time for…

Siny: "It's memory time!!!"

Leonidas was sitting on the couch to the left of Alexander.

Leonidas: "You have to find something to do. I don't even know how many times I have to tell you!"

Alexander: "..."

Leonidas: "The only response I get is silence. Please stop running away from your problems. You keep telling me you want to open a shop, or join the military, or do something else. But I don't need that — sorry, you don't need that! What you need is conviction, my son. You're incredible, and I know it even if you don't yet. But there's something in your head that doesn't process, and even my years as a psychologist couldn't help with it. It's up to you to find yourself and fight this thing."

After a moment, Alexander silently stood up and went to his bedroom.

Siny: "The second dream."

Alexander woke up in a sandy field, completely exhausted. He slowly stood up and looked around. Everywhere he turned, there were corpses — dozens of them. He walked toward one and saw Spitfire dead, a bullet hole in his head. He looked at the others: all heroes, all confirmed dead. Some had been shot, others sliced in half. He started running, desperately searching for any sign of life, until he found his father, Star Lion, lying on the ground. Alexander picked him up and saw he was bleeding from multiple slashes and bullet wounds.

Alexander: "Father, please… stay with me…"

Leonidas: "My son, I know it wasn't you who did this. I know the monster who did it, and you are not guilty of anything."

Tears streamed down Alexander's face as he held his father. Leonidas placed a weak hand on his son's shoulder.

Leonidas: "You are the one. You are my greatest hero. You are my son…"

Leonidas passed away.

Right after that, Alexander was given no time to grieve. A multitude of portals opened in front of him, releasing demons into the world. Alexander gently laid his father's body down. A strange red fire began to cover him, fueled by overwhelming hate and anger.

Siny's Note :

Alexander's Powers:

• Super speed

• Super strength

• Almost infinite endurance

• Two demonic weapons

• Ability to use demonic magic

Physical Aspects:

• Name: Alexander Star

• Age: 20 years old

• Height: 1.90 m (6.2 feet)

• Eyes: Brown (currently red)

Alexander woke up in a rage without knowing why. He stood up from the bed, went to the bathroom, washed his face, and stared at his reflection in the mirror.

Demon-B: "What's going on in that empty head of yours?"

Alexander: "I feel like shit."

Demon-B: "Is it because of the dream you had?"

Alexander: "Yes… that thing. I genuinely don't know how to explain it. Every time my father spoke to me about my future, I would just stand there without saying a word. I knew he was right and I was wrong, but I had never really done anything meaningful with my life."

Demon-B: "Well, now you're doing it. You haven't accomplished it yet, but you're in the process."

Alexander: "Yeah, I guess… It's nighttime. What should we do?"

Demon-B: "It's vigilante time."

Alexander grabbed his weapon and left his hideout. He ran quickly out of the abandoned train station and looked up at the clear sky. There was nothing but him and the distant noises of the city. Following Demon-B's orders, he began climbing buildings to get a better and clearer view of the city's state. The city where Alexander now lived unfortunately had one of the highest crime rates, caused by an abnormally large number of gangsters and criminals. These would become some of Alexander's first investigations.

Alexander: "Did you hear or see anything?"

Demon-B: "No, I'm seeing the same thing you are."

Alexander: "Okay. I'm going to look for another spot."

Alexander switched buildings using his hell claw. After a while, he heard someone screaming for help. He rushed toward the sound and saw a man being assaulted by another man who seemed to have powers — something related to water. The criminal was using his ability to create a knife made of water.

Alexander jumped down from the building and walked toward them.

The man: "Please… I have a family! My daughter is waiting for me!"

Criminal: "Oh, you're using that classic excuse? 'I have a family, please don't kill me, we're starving to death, oooh.' Seriously, you're disappointing me."

The man: "How can I be disappointing you? You're literally threatening me!"

Criminal: "Oh, so you're trying to say we're not so different? That we're the same?"

The man: "...?"

Criminal: "You see, you can wear a nice clean suit, but at the end of the day, you're the same crap as me."

The man: "Please, no! Please!"

Alexander: "Hey!!!"

Criminal: "What do you want, you red-eyed punk?"

The man escaped from the blade and ran. The criminal turned and started walking toward Alexander.

Alexander: "I need you. If you cooperate, I might let you live."

As Alexander walked forward, the streetlight illuminated his face. The criminal recognized him.

Criminal: "You're that kid from the television, right…?"

Alexander: "..."

Criminal: "I… I'm not afraid of you. You're just a kid."

In the blink of an eye, the criminal was lifted off the ground, held tightly by the neck.

Alexander: "You have five seconds to surrender. If you don't, I'll take what I need from your head."

Demon-B: "Pretty good, kid."

The criminal struggled desperately but couldn't break free. He glanced at a nearby waste pipe and reached toward it, trying to control the water. Alexander quickly looked at the pipe, then back at the criminal. A huge wave of water suddenly crashed into Alexander, knocking him away and leaving the criminal behind.

The criminal touched his neck, stood up shakily, and smirked: "Funny. You really thought you could take me down that easily, huh? Take that, you son of a—"

Before he could finish, he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned and saw Alexander staring at him. A powerful punch knocked the criminal unconscious.

The criminal woke up on the roof of a tall building. There was no one around. Suddenly, Alexander appeared, grabbed him by the foot, and began dragging him across the rooftop. The criminal started crying and begging for help, but it was already too late. Alexander lifted him and dangled him over the edge of the roof.

Alexander: "Now you're going to tell me what I want to know."

Criminal: "What the fuck do you want?!"

Alexander: "I need intel. Information. Someone who can help me find what I'm looking for."

Criminal: "I don't know anybody in this town!"

Alexander: "Hmm… Can you see the ground down there? Or do you want me to help you get a closer look?"

Criminal: "Okay! Okay! Calm down, please! I can tell you someone who can help you."

Alexander: "Look, I don't have much patience, so I think I'm gonna drop you…"

Criminal: "Wait! I swear I can help you! The person is Melisa Barone. She works at the Mercy Bar in Commons-Hill. So please, get me out of here!"

Alexander leaned closer to his face and whispered: "See you in hell, punk."

He let go.

The criminal fell screaming toward the street as terrified neighbors watched from their windows. The police were already on their way, but Alexander had already vanished into the night.

Alexander returned to his hideout and searched for the woman named Melisa Barone.

Demon-B: "She looks nice."

Alexander: "That's true, but wait — how can you even have an opinion about these things?!"

Demon-B: "I have opinions about many things. Do you want to hear them?"

Alexander: "No, thanks. But there's something strange here. The results already show that she's wanted by the local police, yet the guy said she was working at the bar at the same time?"

Demon-B: "Maybe the police don't have much influence in that area."

Alexander: "I doubt it. Even the heroes aren't trying to catch her. Something is definitely strange."

The police who arrived at the scene didn't have time to locate or even identify the suspect.

The I.I.H. investigation team searched the scene for anything that could identify the potential suspect. They found something crucial: a partial DNA sample taken from the victim's neck belonged to one person and one person only — Alexander Star.

Umbra-Inspectio arrived at the site shortly after being called by the I.I.H. investigation team.

Umbra: "I need a full report on the situation."

Investigator: "Sir, the victim appears to be a middle-aged man with a long criminal record: robbery, organized crime, and murder. It seems he was strangled first, then held by the heel and dropped from the roof. All the fingerprints and footprints found at the scene match Alexander Star, sir."

Umbra: "Did you contact Star Lion?"

Investigator: "No, sir. As you instructed, I waited for your orders."

Umbra: "Good. Keep it that way. He's already struggling with the news, and I don't think he'll recover from this. Do not release any information to the media or even the local police. Feed them whatever lies you need to. We cannot let this leak out. Understood?"

Investigator: "Yes, sir."

Umbra: "Any other potential clues you haven't summarized yet?"

Investigator: "Yes, sir. There's something strange that keeps appearing in our recent cases. This victim had no powers, yet he was found with traces of one afterward. There's also a strange footprint on the rooftop."

They moved to the rooftop of the building.

Umbra: "So this is where the murder took place?"

Investigator: "Yes, sir. And this is the last strange detail we noticed."

Umbra: "This footprint belongs to Alexander, correct?"

Investigator: "Yes. But the depth and force of the mark suggest he made an extremely powerful jump that propelled him to another location. He still has no officially recorded powers, and the imprint was clearly made by a humanoid form — not a robot or any external device."

Umbra: "Was any form of magic detected?"

Investigator: "The Department of Magic is on its way. As for us, there's not much more we can do here."

Umbra: "Alright. Tell the others that we need to keep the victim's name secret. Take the body for autopsy. You and your team can leave now — I'll handle the rest from here."

The investigation team and the police withdrew, leaving Umbra alone on the rooftop. A moment later, the Department of Magic arrived, led by Destyny, Clair, and several other magicians.

Destyny: "What's going on here? Why did you need to call me personally?"

Umbra quickly briefed Destyny and Clair on the situation. The three of them moved to the rooftop. Clair examined the footprint carefully and silently suggested to Destyny that it might be proof of latent power. Destyny nodded and admitted:

Destyny: "It seems he did not use traditional magic."

Umbra: "But how? He never had any powers before."

Destyny: "He may have used primordial magic — one of the strongest and least understood forces we know. The only thing we're certain of is that there exists an artifact capable of granting him powers. Unfortunately, we have no idea of its full extent."

Umbra: "So he has powers now, but we can't track him and we have no clue what he's truly capable of?"

Clair: "Exactly. He's causing us a lot of trouble."

Umbra: "God… Do you have any information about him that I don't already know?"

Clair: "Well, he made a trip to Sanctry. That's the only new thing we know."

Umbra: "For now, the only thing we can do is put this city under increased surveillance."

Destyny: "Unfortunately, we can't. Anything we do will draw Leonidas's attention. We have to find another way."

Umbra: "Agreed. But not right now. I need to see the autopsy results. I'm working on another case, and I believe the victim's body might help me with it."

Destyny: "Alright. I'll find ways to divert the public's attention."

Umbra disappeared into the shadows. Destyny, Clair, and the other magicians opened a portal and returned to I.I.H. headquarters.

Later, Umbra returned to the Department of Investigation for the autopsy. He entered the medical examiner's room unnoticed, using the shadows to sneak behind the medic so he could observe the victim's body.

Medic: "Ah!!!"

Umbra: "Strange… Have you seen the color of these arteries and veins? Why do they look like this?"

Startled, the medic composed himself and answered: "The color is very similar to the other patients we've examined, sir. They all share the same characteristics — we can't analyze any percentage of it, even under our most powerful microscopes."

Umbra: "They're all the same… It's been almost twenty years, and we still haven't figured it out!"

Medic: "Sir, I need calm if I'm going to finish my work."

Umbra: "Of course. Sorry… I've had a bad day."

Umbra vanished into the darkness once more, leaving the medical examiner to continue his work.

Siny's Note:

Clair is Destyny's assistant and holds the second-highest rank in the Department of Magic. She has the power to command other magicians.

The I.I.H. investigation team specializes in cases involving people with powers or supernatural phenomena such as magic. They are frequently called upon for such matters. The leader of the team is Umbra-Inspectio, also known as a member of the Twelve Knights. For easier reading, we will simply call him Umbra. His full hero name is Umbra-Inspectio, and his real name is Arthur Cooper.

Umbra's Powers:

Can use shadows to disappear and teleport to any nearby shadow.

Can turn an entire area pitch black, allowing him to manipulate it as one large shadow.

Can hide objects (such as a sword) inside shadows and retrieve them at will.

Physical Aspects:

Name: Arthur Cooper

Age: 35 years old

Height: 2.02 m (6.6 feet)

Eyes: Black

Alexander took another nap to pass the time. He didn't take his weapon, feeling it was unnecessary. On his way to the bar, he asked Demon-B a question.

Alexander: "Hey, Demon."

Demon-B: "What?"

Alexander: "Can you tell me how you manage to keep all that information from Hell? Or even how you're able to cast spells yourself?"

Demon-B: "Well, I still have some magic left. Enough for your journey. Plus, I use yours."

Alexander: "What!?"

Demon-B: "Yes. Don't worry, you don't need that much."

Alexander: "Whatever…"

When Alexander arrived at the bar, the door he was about to enter was surrounded by loud noise. The second he stepped inside, everything fell silent. All the people in the bar turned and stared at him. He walked forward, staring back at everyone without saying a word, then sat down on a chair.

Alexander: "Give me something heavy."

Melisa: "Whiskey should do the trick."

While Melisa prepared the drink, a man from one of the tables stood up and tapped Alexander on the shoulder. Alexander turned around and asked:

Alexander: "What do you want?"

Random guy: "I want you dead, you spoiled brat."

Alexander stood up and looked at him calmly. The man threw a punch, but suddenly he was embedded into the bar wall. The rest of the patrons looked on in shock before they rushed toward Alexander, shouting:

Crowd: "Kill him!"

One by one, Alexander took them down while Melisa continued serving his drink — adding more ice to the glass as bones cracked and skulls snapped. She paralyzed some of them for life with casual efficiency. When she finally placed the finished drink in front of him, she said calmly:

Melisa: "It's ready."

After beating them all, Alexander sat back down calmly, removed his mask, and began drinking. Out of curiosity, Melisa reached out to touch the mask. Alexander quickly grabbed her hand and looked her in the eyes. She pulled her hand back and asked if he was available that night. Demon-B told Alexander to let her guide him.

A while later, they arrived at her apartment. They went straight to the bedroom, where desire and lust took over. Demon-B watched with satisfaction as Alexander allowed himself to become more and more corrupted.

After their encounter, Melisa lit a cigarette and asked:

Melisa: "Why do you want me?"

Alexander: "I need to find some people."

Melisa: "And these 'people'… do I know them?"

Alexander: "Probably."

Melisa: "Give me their names."

Alexander: "Ratospki Petovich."

Melisa: "Him? He works in smuggling military tech?"

Alexander: "Yes, and I need to see him."

In exchange, Melisa asked Alexander to kill two men who owed her money. One was already dead — the first guy Alexander had encountered in the bar. The second belonged to one of the biggest gangs in the city. After hearing this, Alexander got dressed and returned to his hideout.

During the walk back, he spoke with Demon-B.

Demon-B: "Can you tell me why you went with her so easily? Sorry to say this, but I really can't comprehend it."

Alexander: "Look, she wanted something from me and I wanted something from her. If it's strange, gross, or whatever else, I don't really care. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to achieve my goal. Isn't that what you were saying during my training?"

Demon-B: "Really good answer… but I have more questions."

Alexander: "Go ahead."

Demon-B: "What was your relationship like with your parents?"

Alexander: "If I remember correctly, it was incredible. Even though I was always bullied by my classmates and even some teachers, I was never sad when I was with them. My mom would always make me smile. She loved creating poems for me and my dad. As for my dad, he was a lover of design and art. He took me to museums ever since I was born and tried to explain everything to me… even when I was just a child."

Demon-B: "And what about Leonidas? He's your adoptive father, but he tried everything to make you happy, right?"

Alexander: "It's not the same thing."

Demon-B: "Well, to me it seems…"

Alexander: "It's not the same thing!!!"

Alexander arrived back at his hideout, picked up the demonic weapon he had left behind, and headed toward the coordinates Melisa had given him.

Demon-B: "Coming back to that woman… she has some strange ways of giving you what you want, doesn't she?"

Alexander: "Sorry?"

Demon-B: "Listen, I don't know if she was seduced by your attitude and the way you killed her clients, but…"

Alexander: "I'm not inside people's twisted minds, okay? She just wanted to fuck a rich boy with issues."

Demon-B: "Lots of issues."

Alexander: "Lots of issues! She's a criminal. She's lucky she's even allowed to breathe."

Demon-B: "Well, if you mean 'choking' by that definition, I personally don't think that's what you did to her."

Alexander: "Go fuck yourself."

Demon-B: "Ahahahah!"

After the trip, Alexander finally arrived at the location Melisa had described.

Alexander: "It looks like a depot… but for what?"

Demon-B: "Well, I have no body, but from what I'm reading here, it's about fish."

Alexander: "No, seriously… I never thought about it. Wow. Have you ever seen a fishing depot guarded by goons with guns all around it?"

Demon-B: "Okay, I understand what you mean."

Alexander jumped onto a crane to find a better observation point.

Siny's Note:

While heroes often hesitate, villains and criminals have never feared killing. That is why they are considered such dangerous threats — and also extremely difficult to chase.

Sorry for the breeding, but it is important: there was no love in what Alexander did with Melisa. It was only her desire and his lust taking over. This shows that both of them are corrupted by their emotions.

Demon-B may be a demon trying to take over Alexander's body, but he also tries to understand his life and the world around him. He may be a villain, but he is not a monster.

Alexander looked up at every guard surrounding the depot and spoke to Demon-B.

Alexander: "Remember every single one of them. We'll take them down in a special order."

He eliminated them one by one, moving so silently and quickly that some guards who were supposed to enter the depot started growing suspicious when the others never returned. Alexander walked toward the main door.

Suddenly, he smashed through the glass on the rooftop and shouted:

Alexander: "Who is the criminal I'm looking for?"

No one answered.

The man guarding the door unsheathed a knife and lunged at him. Alexander glanced at his shoulder, spun around, grabbed the man's hand, and ripped it clean off, leaving him screaming in agony. Another goon tried to punch him, but Alexander dodged every strike and drove his fist into the man's chest with such force that it created a gaping hole. Some of the remaining thugs tried to run away, but Alexander drew Alpha and Omega and opened fire, killing almost all of them.

Only two men were left.

One of them grabbed what looked like an injector filled with a strange liquid and charged at Alexander. He landed a powerful punch that sent Alexander flying through the door and crashing onto the ground outside.

Demon-B: "Hey kiddo, I need you alive!"

Alexander: "Shut up and let me concentrate!"

The man: "Why are you talking to yourself, schizo?"

The man rushed forward again, throwing punches. Alexander avoided most of them, blocking only one. He felt the unnatural intensity and power behind the blow. Alexander grabbed the man's arm and hurled him away. As the man tried to get back up, Demon-B spoke.

Demon-B: "I don't think this guy originally had powers."

Alexander: "Yeah… that thing is clearly not natural."

The man stood before Alexander once more. Alexander transformed Alpha and Omega into a scythe. The man laughed and leaped toward him. Alexander dodged the landing, then ripped off every limb — first the arms, then the legs — before finishing with the head.

From the broken doorway, another man had been watching the fight. The moment Alexander spotted him, the man tried to flee, but Alexander appeared in front of him in an instant. He grabbed the man by the neck and slammed him against the wall. The man gasped for air, trying to understand what was happening, until he noticed Alexander's shoes. As he struggled to stand, Alexander reverted his scythe back into the two guns, took the knife from one of the weapons, and nailed the man's arms to the wall. The man started crying and begging for his life.

Alexander leaned in close, face to face, and whispered:

Alexander: "How does it feel to see the devil's face?"

The man: "Please, don't kill me! I'll do whatever you want! Just let me live!"

Alexander: "Can you tell me who Carlos Silva is?"

The man: "You already killed him! That was the guy with powers!"

Alexander: "Good. Now the only thing I want is for you to spread the word that I'm coming for them."

The man: "For who!?"

Alexander: "All the men and women who do nasty things."

Alexander pulled out the knife, freeing the man, and let him run away. Afterward, he checked the bodies of the powered criminals to make sure the one he had killed was indeed Carlos Silva.

Alexander: "Well, we did it right… but I want to know what's inside these containers."

He opened one of the depot's containers and found it filled with hundreds of the same strange injectors the criminal had used. Shocked by the sheer number, Alexander quickly grabbed one and fled the scene before any heroes or police could arrive.

A long moment later, the I.I.H. investigation team had already secured the site. Umbra arrived, pushing past everyone, and stared at the open container.

Investigator: "It looks like everything here was controlled by a small gang and used as a relay point for the black market."

Umbra: "Any connection to these injectors?"

Investigator: "No, sir. All we know is that this container was highly important and was never supposed to be found by anyone."

Umbra: "Well… it was found."

Umbra reached out to touch one of the injectors. Suddenly, the liquid inside it — and every other injector in the container — vanished completely.

Umbra: "What!? How is this happening?!"

In a fit of rage, Umbra punched the side of the container.

Investigator: "Sir, sorry to interrupt, but it seems the man who killed everyone here was Alexander. It also appears he used some form of magic."

Umbra: "Fine. I'll speak to the Department of Magic. For now, I want you to follow the same protocol we used for the previous murder. The more this kid appears, the stranger things get. We need to catch him as fast as possible, or we'll lose him forever."

Investigator: "Yes, sir. I'll use the same protocol as last time."

Siny: "Passing the camera to Alexander."

Alexander was back in his hideout, standing in the bathroom about to take a shower. He stared at the injector and watched the liquid inside disappear.

Alexander: "What was that?"

Demon-B: "Strange… It reminded me of something, but I can't quite put my finger on it."

Alexander tilted the injector to look inside, but there was nothing left.

Alexander: "You said you've seen something similar?"

Demon-B: "Yes. The way it vanished reminded me of certain magic, but I don't think it's even possible to put that kind of magic into liquid form… and I can't remember exactly what kind it was."

Alexander: "I think this is just the beginning of something much bigger."

Siny's Note:

This action scene was the first scene the writer ever imagined for the character. From there, he created more and more until the full lore came together.

When Alexander unlocked the new form of Alpha and Omega, he also learned how to fuse them.

Maybe…

Maybe it's just me avoiding the reality that they're gone and I still can't move past it.

Maybe that's why I count every single day since the year they passed away.

Maybe that's why I can't love anyone else.

Maybe…

I have to get past this. I have to take control of my life and do something. Change myself. Break this loneliness and this blind loyalty.

They are no longer part of this world anymore.
