You're not even human.
What are you? Some kind of magical creature?"
"You see the situation correctly," Lightburp replied.
"I am the guardian of this forest."
"Well, by tomorrow your forest will be nothing but ash," the demon grinned.
"But don't worry, you won't have time to mourn it.
I'll turn you into ash as well.
My name is Na Gonos, Clan Leader of the Na Clan!"
Lightburp sighed, bored.
"How amusing… a mere clan leader wants to turn me into ash?
You're so stupid I don't even feel like laughing."
"What did you say?!" Na Gonos's flames roared higher.
"If you're so eager to roast in my fire, just say so!"
"Those filthy flames of yours aren't even strong enough to warm me up," Lightburp replied.
"But if you want to see real flames… then here."
"Golden Flame!"
Lightburp drew a deep breath, then unleashed a torrent of golden, divine fire upon the demon.
The flames struck Na Gonos with such force that his body ignited instantly.
The golden flame was no ordinary fire — it was purifying fire, burning demons from the inside out.
"What… what kind of flames are these?!" Na Gonos screamed.
"It… it burns!!!"
The demon's body began to blacken, then crumbled into charcoal.
The Clan Leader's final scream faded, leaving only a pile of ash behind.
Lightburp slowly lowered her arm.
The flames died out, golden sparks drifting through the air.
The fusion's first battle had ended.
Lightburp Takes Flight
"Right…," Lightburp murmured as she looked down at the demon reduced to ash.
"I forgot to mention that I'm a Golden Dragon.
My elements are fire and light.
If you demons want to stand against me, at least send a Demon General."
She paused, then shrugged.
"Though… who am I even talking to?
Even your bones burned to charcoal."
"Did you defeat the demon?" Amelia peeked out from behind the rock.
"Is the danger gone? Can I come out?"
"Yes, the danger is gone."
Amelia stepped out, staring wide‑eyed at the radiant, golden‑scaled, fully grown dragon girl.
"My aunt told me there are maids in Wolfwood who are stronger than elite knights, and they call them battle maids.
Are you one of those battle maids, Fire— I mean… Lightburp?"
"Speaking of maids…" Lightburp turned toward her with a playful smile.
"Who do you think is prettier? Me, or Noelle?"
"Wh‑which of you is prettier? Um… well… that's hard to say.
You're both very beautiful girls."
"I want to surprise Young Wolf with this form," Lightburp said, gazing into the distance.
"But where could he be?
The Fire Demons have already begun setting the forest ablaze.
I can feel knights and demons extinguishing each other's lives."
"Alright… let's find Young Wolf.
From the sky, it'll be easier.
Come, Amelia — hold on tight."
"What? You have wings too?!
We're going to fly?
I'm not sure this is a good idea…"
"If you're scared, close your eyes.
And don't talk, or you might bite your tongue."
"Oh no…"
Lightburp scooped Amelia up, then with a single powerful wingbeat soared into the sky.
The noble girl clung to the dragon's neck so tightly she looked like someone either embracing the love of her life… or trying to strangle her for cheating with another woman.
"Are you sure you want to keep your eyes closed?" Lightburp asked.
"Only Dragon Knights among humans ever get to fly with a Dragon.
Relax — I've got you.
You won't fall."
Amelia slowly opened her eyes.
The sight before her swept away all her fear:
the endless forest, the mountains, the rivers… breathtaking.
But the beauty was marred by the fires — demon flames rising in more and more places across the ancient woods.
"Those fires… are they the demons' doing?" Amelia asked.
"They want to wipe out all the knights," Lightburp replied.
"My aunt is fighting in the battle.
Will she be alright?"
"Christina is strong.
If anyone survives this battle, it will be her."
"Will many people die?"
"A war against the demon army always demands many lives."
"Will you go back into the battle too?"
"First we find Young Wolf.
Then we begin the counterattack.
But don't worry — we'll take you somewhere safe."
Amelia smiled, though her eyes were still wet.
"I know… and thank you."
Floralys, the Wood Elf Sorceress — The Demon's Worst Nightmare
"A female elf?" the Fire Demon hissed as he looked her over.
"So elves live in the humans' kingdom as well?"
"You see," Floralys replied calmly,
"you don't need to travel far north to die at the hands of an elven woman."
"Maybe I'll play with you first," the demon grinned,
"and kill you afterward."
"I wonder if you'll still be so confident," Floralys raised her hand,
"once you meet my little one."
The elf woman closed her eyes, and an ancient, deep power stirred around her.
"O Earthmother, ancient guardian,
awaken the strength that sleeps below.
Spirits of the forest, gather around me,
give form to nature's wrath!
Rise from the soil as shield and fist…
EARTH GOLEM — AWAKEN!"
The ground trembled.
Roots, stones, and the raw force of the earth surged upward, forming a towering golem several meters tall.
The Fire Demon's words died in his throat.
The Golem stepped forward, seized the demon, and crushed him between its hands.
The demon's final, ear‑splitting scream echoed through the forest.
Christina, Captain of the Silver Knights, heard the cry and immediately rushed toward the sound.
That was how they met again.
"Floralys, is that you?" Christina asked as she saw the massive creature.
"Is this your earth golem?"
"Christina!" the elf smiled.
"Finally, a familiar face.
Is that blood on your cheek?"
"Yeah," Christina wiped it off.
"Just demon blood. I ran into a Fire Demon."
"Come on, hop up!" Floralys patted the golem's shoulder.
"We can rest while traveling on my little one."
"Doesn't it consume a lot of magic?" Christina asked as she climbed up.
"Half the spell is powered by the forest spirits," Floralys explained.
"We're in Greenwood Forest — I can maintain the golem much longer here."
"In that case, I'll gladly take a seat on its shoulder."
"And I'll gladly carry you.
But where should we go?"
"We need to find Amelia and Carla as well."
"Alright, but which direction?" Floralys asked.
"I don't know… I don't even know where we are right now."
Floralys thought for a moment.
"Then let's head toward the castle. West."
"Hopefully everyone else is heading that way too, not wandering blindly," Christina nodded.
Thus the Captain of the Silver Knights and the Sorceress of the Green Hawk Knights found each other again.
Riding on the golem's shoulder, they set off toward the castle, destroying several demons along the way.
Deep in the forest, two legendary warriors advanced —
and the demons had no idea what kind of power was approaching them.
Carla and Her Two Wolves vs. La Kratos
Carla's situation could be called partially fortunate:
the teleportation wave had thrown her close to her two bodyguards, Xaba and Jula.
But their luck ended there.
Because they ran straight into a Clan Leader.
"This is demon magic," Carla said as she looked around the dense forest.
"I read about it in a book.
It's lucky you two were touching me when the teleportation wave activated — that's why we ended up together."
"We were only fulfilling our duty," Xaba replied.
"That doesn't change the fact that we're in a bad position," Jula growled.
"The demons have found us."
A demon stepped out from between the trees.
Tall, with glowing cracks across his body, and bloodlust burning in his eyes.
"A human woman and two knights?" he grinned.
"Perfect appetizer.
I might even keep the woman as a pet.
Then I can eat her whenever I want…
and until then she'll do anything I ask, just to survive another day."
"You'll only reach Lady Carla over our dead bodies, you filthy demon!" Xaba shouted.
"That won't be a problem," the demon replied.
"I am La Kratos, Clan Leader of the La Clan.
The two of you together won't be enough.
At least attack me at the same time."
Jula paled.
"Damn it… a Clan Leader!
If he's as strong as Za Balog, then you know what we have to do, Xaba!"
