But that's not the point!
That little dragon — my sister — where is she?
Where can I find her?
And where is that honey treat?
I want to eat it too!"
Ursa Laci pointed toward the river.
"When it gets very hot, humans come here to cool off.
And they always bring me some of that honey treat.
But since you're a dragon, you can just fly to them.
They live at the end of the forest, in a big rock the humans built out of many little stones."
Firestorm nodded.
"So they live in a castle? I see."
The bear continued:
"But if you go there, you should wear human skin too, just like my little dragon friend did.
If you do that, humans will think you're one of them, and they'll surely give you some of that honey treat."
Firestorm's eyes lit up.
"So I should take on my human form and blend in among them?
That's a brilliant idea!
Meteora taught me how to take human shape."
The dragon straightened, red light swirling around her body.
"Dragon Magic: Human Form!"
A moment later, a tall, muscular woman with fiery red hair and crimson eyes stood where the dragon had been, wearing a confident smile.
"What do you think, bear?"
Ursa Laci nodded.
"Looks good. But one more thing.
Humans don't have their own fur, so they wear the fur of other creatures.
You'll need such fur too."
"You mean human clothes?
I doubt I'll find any here in the forest."
"See that hollow in the rock?
There's a sack hidden inside with some of those furs."
Firestorm stepped over, pulled out the sack, and examined the clothes with curiosity.
"Well, look at that!
I've never worn human clothes before.
Not a bad feeling at all."
She dressed herself, then put the rest back into the sack.
"Now you look just like a human," Ursa Laci remarked.
Firestorm straightened proudly.
"Good. Then I'm off to the castle!"
"If you meet my friends, tell them I'm really looking forward to that honey treat," the bear called after her.
Firestorm smiled, then set off toward Wolfwood — in human form, but with unmistakable dragon pride.
Firestorm's First Wagon Ride
Fortune had it that the people of Wolfwood would not wake up to a dragon circling above their castle.
Firestorm was already walking in human form, dressed in human clothes, along a forest path used by hunters.
The path led her out of the woods and soon joined the road toward Wolfwood.
She had barely been walking for a few minutes when a wagon rattled past her.
A villager sat on the driver's bench, the cart piled high with fresh fruits and vegetables.
He pulled the reins and stopped the horses.
"Villager:
Heading to the city? Come on, I'll give you a ride."
Firestorm eyed the wagon with curiosity.
"I've never ridden on a human wagon before.
I accept your offer."
The man laughed.
"Never ridden a wagon?
Well, I suppose that's not too surprising.
I hear beast‑folk can't even ride horses properly."
Firestorm tilted her head.
"You're not afraid of me, human?"
"Times have changed.
Ever since Wolfwood's young lord hunted down the bandits in the region, the roads have been safe.
Any beast‑folk passing through here aren't bandits anymore.
Most are just poor refugees who escaped from the Empire."
He continued proudly:
"Our village took in a family too.
Dog‑folk.
Hard‑working, loyal people.
If you've got nowhere to go, you can come to our village as well.
But with your looks, you'll have no trouble in the city either.
Is this your first time in Wolfwood?"
Firestorm nodded honestly.
"I didn't even know it was called Wolfwood.
Yes, this is my first time in this territory."
"Good choice.
There's no place like it in the whole Kingdom.
No bandits, Wolf Knights guarding the people day and night.
As long as you work honestly, you'll never go hungry here."
Firestorm's eyes lit up.
"Speaking of food… do you know where I can find that honey treat?"
The man laughed again.
"Depends on what you mean by honey treat.
I like honey bread myself.
My grandkids prefer gingerbread.
Then there's mead…
But you're old enough to drink something stronger, especially if you're with a fine young man, hahaha!"
Firestorm nodded seriously.
"So there are multiple kinds of honey treats?
Doesn't matter.
I want to taste all of them!"
"Don't worry, you'll find work easily in the city.
Then you can buy all you want."
"Yes.
My mother told me about this.
First you must earn money, and then you can buy treats."
The villager smiled.
"Tell you what.
This year's harvest is excellent.
If you help me unload the crates, I'll give you some coins."
Firestorm stood up confidently on the wagon, looking over the cargo.
"These things on the wagon?
Trivial.
I can unload everything in a single moment!
If I get honey treats for it, it's worth it!"
The man laughed heartily.
"I like your attitude!
It's a deal."
The wagon rattled onward toward Wolfwood — carrying a Dragon Queen disguised as a human, preparing to take on her first job in life…
all for the sake of honey treats.
Firestorm Arrives in Wolfwood
Firestorm reached the city of Wolfwood comfortably on the villager's wagon.
The market was just waking up: vendors were unpacking fresh goods, and the morning air was filled with the scents of vegetables, fruits, bread, and spices.
The wagon stopped at a stall where a young woman was already waiting for the delivery.
"Vendor:
Good morning, father.
Well, well… a new beast‑folk girl in town?"
"Villager:
Hello, my daughter.
No, no. I picked her up along the road on my way to the city.
She came to Wolfwood looking for work.
She'll help unload the crates for a bit of coin."
"Vendor:
At least we won't have to unload all these crates alone."
Firestorm stepped to the wagon, grabbed the bottom crate… and in a single motion lifted the entire stacked tower.
She set the crates down as if they weighed nothing at all.
Everyone around her stared with their mouths open.
The villager scratched his head.
"Villager:
You're a strong one, girl.
Got buffalo blood in your veins?
Even the two strongest lads in our village together couldn't unload that many crates at once."
The vendor handed her a small pouch and an apple.
"Vendor:
In the end you unloaded the whole wagon by yourself.
Here, take this. You earned it.
It's not much, I know, but you can buy yourself some food with it.
And here's an apple — eat it after breakfast."
Firestorm looked at the pouch, and her eyes lit up.
"Firestorm:
Where can I buy the honey treat with this money?"
The vendor laughed.
"Vendor:
If you mean gingerbread, they don't sell it this early at the market.
But you can buy some at the bakery.
Walk through the market, turn right at the end, and keep going until you smell it.
A bakery is hard to miss — the scents drifting out are wonderful."
Firestorm took a deep breath, as if she could already smell it.
"Firestorm:
Hmm… sounds tempting."
And so the Dragon Queen — in human form, with money in her pocket and the promise of honey treats in her mind — set off through the bustling market.
Completely unaware that, at that very moment in the castle, her little sister was preparing to show Andras how she had learned to breathe fire.
Firestorm Discovers Wolfwood
Firestorm eagerly threw herself into exploring Wolfwood.
The thought of honey treats pulled her forward like an invisible rope.
A dragon's nose never lies — she caught the scent of fresh pastries from far away.
Sweet, warm, tempting aromas drifted through the streets.
