Chapter 110 - The Oath of the Whirlwind

Miroslava — the First Wolf Knight Lieutenant

Anita fell to her knees, tears shimmering in her eyes.

Their souls resonated.

The spirit's name was Miroslava — the first Wolf Knight Lieutenant.

For five hundred years she had guarded the tomb of her lady, Andrasa Wolfwood.

Even after death.

Ironclaw tilted her head.

"Are you crying?

Didn't you say Wolf Knights never cry?"

Anita jumped to her feet, wiping her eyes.

"Shut up!

This woman, Miroslava… she was just like me.

I can feel how deeply she loved her lady, her captain, Andrasa Wolfwood."

The Oath of the Whirlwind

Anita picked up the black, ice‑infused sword from the floor.

The blade was cold, yet radiated power.

The Stormwind raised it toward the ceiling.

"I swear upon this sword!

I, Anita the Whirlwind, will forever protect my beloved lord, Andras Wolfwood — known as Young Wolf!

Until the end of my life… and beyond death itself!

Forever!"

Her voice echoed through the dungeon walls.

"Miroslava, I promise you… this dark blade will freeze the blood of countless demons!

May your soul rest in peace."

Ironclaw burst out laughing.

"Right now you sound just like those knights in the tavern after too much grape wine. Hahaha!"

Anita sheathed the sword.

"Let's go back to Young Wolf. I want to show him my new blade."

Ironclaw wagged her tail with a mischievous grin.

"Sure — and I'll tell him you cried."

Anita stopped.

"If you don't tell him, I'll buy you the finest roasted piglet."

"The one with the apple in its mouth?"

"That one. So you won't tell him?"

Ironclaw thought for a moment.

"Hmmm… then I won't tell him… until after I eat the roasted piglet."

Anita gasped.

"So you do want to tell him!

Forget the roasted piglet!"

Ironclaw huffed indignantly.

"Then I will tell him."

"Ironclaw!!!" Anita shouted, her voice echoing down the corridor as the two warriors headed back toward Young Wolf — one with a new sword, the other with a brand‑new blackmail plan.

After the Bone Knight's Fall

After Anita defeated the Skeleton Knight and Miroslava's soul finally found peace, the Stormwind and Ironclaw began heading back toward the point where the team had split into three.

The corridors were silent — too silent.

Every imp spawn was dead.

Every skeleton soldier shattered.

Only one enemy remained:

The Fire Demon.

And Andrasa Wolfwood's burial chamber.

And somewhere down below… the Rune Blade.

Third Level – The Fire Demon's Fury

At the central area of the third level, two separate passages led to the same place:

the sacred tomb chamber of Andrasa Wolfwood.

Both entrances were sealed by magical gates reinforced with runes.

A faint bluish glow pulsed across the gates — a mixture of water and ice magic.

The Fire Demon reached the first gate.

The red, winged, blazing creature slammed its fist against the barrier.

Each strike made the gate flare brightly before repelling the attack.

"Damn it all!

This is a water‑shielded gate!

Those cursed mortals made sure no Fire Demon could break through easily!"

The demon struck again and again.

The walls trembled, stones cracked.

The noise was so loud it echoed even through the third passage.

Andrea and Noelle Approach

Andrea and Noelle were heading straight toward the source of the noise.

Noelle tilted her head, listening.

"That sound… like someone is pounding on something."

Andrea drew her sword.

"At least we know we're going the right way.

And we'll definitely run into the demons."

Noelle nodded.

"The question is whether we'll meet the Fire Demon first… or just the imp spawn."

Andrea answered with confidence:

"If we run into it, leave the demon to me.

You focus on the imp spawn.

As a mage, you can easily shoot down flying enemies."

"Fine by me."

The noise grew louder.

The walls shook.

"We're almost there," Andrea said.

"Get ready… we're about to exit the corridor."

The two women stepped into the wide chamber.

The Fire Demon stood before the gate.

Huge, blazing red, winged, with eyes of living flame.

It hammered the gate, which flared with each impact before repelling the blow.

Andrea stopped, sword raised.

Noelle gathered water magic in her hands.

The demon slowly turned.

Its gaze locked onto them.

Its mouth twisted into a wide, distorted grin.

"At last…

Human flesh."

Andrea stepped forward.

"Noelle… it begins."

The Fire Demon roared, and the chamber filled with red light.

Za Balog, the Fire Demon of the Za Clan

The chamber Andrea and Noelle stepped into was enormous, ancient runes glowing along the walls.

At its center stood the Fire Demon — Za Balog, the strongest warrior of the Za clan.

He was as large as Botond, one of the biggest knights in the Kingdom.

Most people would have had to look up at him if they wanted to meet his gaze.

His skin glowed molten red, as if lava flowed through his veins.

Black, charred markings ran along his arms.

His horns were sharp like a bull's.

His clothing was made from demon‑beast hide, and he wore no armor — he didn't need any.

An average knight would have been terrified just by the sight of him.

But Andrea and Noelle were not average knights.

They were members of Young Wolf's elite squad — trained in body and spirit to face demons.

The demon turned toward them, speaking with a mocking grin.

"You are not skeletons.

So humans use this place as well.

A knight and a maid?"

He pointed at Noelle.

"No… you are no maid.

That blue magic staff in your hand.

You're a water mage.

If you want to disguise yourself as a maid, at least hide that staff under your skirt — it's rather obvious."

Noelle raised an eyebrow.

"Are Fire Demons' brains roasted too?

I am a maid — I just happen to know water magic."

Za Balog waved dismissively.

"A maid, hm? Doesn't matter.

Since you're a water mage, you can open this gate.

Open it, and I'll spare your lives."

Andrea stepped forward.

"What lies beyond the gate?"

"You don't know?

No matter.

It's a tomb.

I only need one item from inside, then I'll be gone."

"What item?" Andrea asked.

"Nothing valuable.

At least… not more valuable than your lives.

A sword.

The sword of the female knight whose tomb this is."

Andrea's eyes flashed.

"Then I regret to inform you…

My Lord loves collecting swords.

The sword belongs to him.

And your head will belong to me."

Za Balog laughed, his voice echoing through the chamber.

"I truly would have spared you if you opened the gate.

Perhaps if I kill the knight, the water mage will be more obedient."

Andrea glanced back at Noelle.

"Noelle, do not interfere."

"Alright, alright, as you wish."

Andrea stepped forward, the Wolf Fang shining in her hand.

"My name is Andrea Wolf, champion of the Wolf Knights."

The demon grinned widely.

"Za Balog, strongest warrior of the Za clan.

A champion, hm?

Perhaps I will enjoy this."
