5. I Dominated The Nightmare Difficulty on My First Try [2]
It lunged down with its claws, shattering dust. Duran parried its attack. "What's the plan, Revet"
'I haven't faced a Fenrir before but they mentioned something about defeating it. So we have to brute force it. You go high, I go low and we hit with multiple attacks until there's nothing left'
[Hohohoho. Cruelty!]
"That's viable," he replied
[Fenrirs mostly specialize in close range attacks. Keep that in mind while you fight]
A burst of blue flames emerged around Duran. In an instant he disappeared and reappeared above the Fenrir, hitting it to the ground, the impact spiderwebbed the floor.
'I haven't learnt any other techniques apart from Heat Haze. But! Since the flames are within me I can use them however I want'

He appeared beside the Fenrir. "Combust!" A huge heat wave surged from his body knocking the Fenrir into a car.
"So you figured it out. Took you long enough," he exclaimed
['The flames will become anything I wish it to be']

The spirit energy of the Fenrir began to skyrocket. It was preparing to launch a powerful attack, probably its last but he would not let it.
'Duran!' He turned to him with his eyes filled with conviction. 'Stand down I'll take it from here'
He took a step back. "Don't disappoint me"
[I am rooting for you Revet-san! Unlike that foul mouthed fox]
He began to concentrate the flames into a singular point.
Thud! Thud!
The Fenrir approached rapidly, leaping into the sky, its mouth wide, saliva dripping, its claws pointed directly at him.
He exhaled deeply, just as its claws were about to reach him—
'Inferno Slash!'
He condensed the flames into a sword, slicing the Fenrir in two halves along with the ground beneath it.
The battlefield went silent for a moment
[Magnificent. Simply flawless]
"I expected nothing less from you. Though your execution was a bit sloppy," Duran exclaimed
The dead Fenrir faded away

Other summoners began to gather in front of the tavern conquest he just left. It was like they were all struggling to see something.
"I can't believe someone actually cleared the nightmare difficulty"
"The moment I saw that Fenrir I immediately unsubscribed!"

"My summons are mystical grade and I barely cleared the hard difficulty"
"Maybe their summon is of the Transcendent grade"
"Impossible! According to the guide no Transcendent grade entity has been summoned in the past 5,000 years"

"Isn't that the name of the summoner that cleared the nightmare difficulty?"
So the ruckus was about him. He was glad he used a fake name

"Don't get cocky," Duran exclaimed sarcastically
'It feels like we are being watched'
He looked toward a tall tree by the left. A girl with long blue hair flowing down her slender shoulders, dark eyes covered by specs, her face partially hidden by a mask, wearing a casual outfit.
"Good day, fellow summoner," she stated, walking closer
[Who the hell is she trying to scare! With that ominous spirit energy she's letting out. What a show off!]
Duran chose to remain silent
'Something feels off about her'
"To what do I owe this pleasant surprise. You have been monitoring for quite a while now. Haven't you?" he replied calmly
"Oh! You noticed? I have been standing behind that tree observing everyone that entered K. But you are the only one who has noticed me. Interesting," she exclaimed softly
He observed her carefully
'Is that all you have to say. Surely you didn't linger around for that long just to praise me. Don't waste my time!'
His spirit energy began to surge faintly
"The prideful ones are the easiest to break," her tone changed. "Consider this a warning I'll be the one to claim the title of Grand Summoner and I shall crush anybody that stands in my way. Back out while you still can"
Her ominous spirit energy surged
[This crazy bitch got some nerves!]
He sensed Duran about to react
'Let me correct you on one thing. I commend your valor and confidence. But never think that trivial words will be enough to disperse the clouds'
He looked at her with his eyes filled with disdain
"It seems my time here is up. The next time we meet, I will not be as friendly as I am now," she snapped her fingers and vanished into purple fog
[Foul mouthed fox I am surprised you didn't say a thing]
"I do not waste my words on trivial matters. Even if I had tried to attack her, her summon would have blown this place to bits," he replied calmly
'I did notice something watching from a far distance. What could her summon be?'
"It's probably an ancient dragon. I might be a god but those things are a hassle to deal with," Duran answered
[Don't tell me you are scared!]
"Your ragebait has failed severely this time, feeble voice. The main reason I didn't attack was to prevent unnecessary attention befalling Revet," he scoffed
He paused briefly
'So he actually cares about me'
After a while they arrived at his domain
[We really need to get a teleportation active in this domain]
"Stop complaining. You only talked the whole way," he exclaimed
