( jay pov )
I heard footsteps
Fast ones
I already knew who it was
"Jay—please, just listen to me."
Keifer.
My jaw tightened.
I kept walking down the hallway like he didn't exist.
But he caught up to me.
"Jay… please. I didn't know the truth back then. Kian—"
I stopped.
Slowly.
Then I turned.
Students nearby went quiet, sensing the tension.
For a moment I just looked at him.
And all the memories hit me at once.
The insults.
The humiliation.
The way he looked at my family like we were criminals.
Something inside me finally snapped.
"Stop."
My voice echoed in the hallway.
Keifer froze.
"I said stop talking."
He looked desperate. "Jay, I just want to explain—"
"Explain what?" I shouted.
My voice cracked with anger.
"Explain how you humiliated my family? Explain how you called us thieves? Explain how you looked me in the eyes and said I meant nothing to you?"
The hallway had gone completely silent now.
Keifer looked like he had been slapped.
"I was wrong," he whispered.
"That doesn't fix anything!" I shot back.
My chest was rising and falling rapidly.
"You believed the worst about us. You believed we were liars. You believed we stole from you!"
My hands trembled.
"And the worst part? You didn't even hesitate."
Keifer stepped closer, his voice breaking.
"Jay… I regret everything. I hate myself for what I did—"
"Good."
The word left my mouth cold and sharp.
"Because you should."
His face fell.
But I wasn't finished.
"You know what the worst thing you ever said to me was?" I continued, my voice shaking with anger.
His eyes lifted slowly.
"You told me I didn't matter."
His expression cracked.
"You said no one could ever love me." 💔
The words felt heavy in the air.
"I remember every single word, Keifer."
My throat tightened, but I forced myself to keep speaking.
"So don't stand here now pretending you suddenly care."
His hands clenched at his sides.
"You don't get to come here and suddenly act sorry just because the truth came out," I said
Keifer looked like he wanted to say something else.
But I cut him off.
"I'm done, Keifer."
My voice was calm now. Empty.
" I wish I never loved you" I said and left
Keifer POV
I couldn't move.
Her words kept echoing in my head.
You told me I didn't matter.
You said no one could ever love me.
God.
My stomach twisted painfully.
I remembered that day.
The anger.
The accusations.
The way she looked at me like she was begging me to believe her.
And I didn't.
Instead…
I destroyed her with my own words.
Now she looked at me like I was nothing.
Like a stranger.
Like someone who didn't matter anymore.
My chest tightened painfully.
Students slowly started walking again around me, whispering quietly.
But I barely noticed.
All I could see was Jay walking away down the hallway.
Not angry.
Not crying.
Just… done.
And somehow that hurt more than anything else
Because it meant she had truly stopped caring.
And I had no one to blame…
except myself.
