Chapter 30 - Mirror

{Kill me.}

[Oh.]

What?

{Please kill me.}

Uh huh, then how would I do that?

[Are you really going to follow its instructions?]

I mean, the soul is asking. Plus, I think it may be a better plan than keeping it within the plushie.

[If you say so, I won't stop you. I already have an idea on how to do it. Mind me asking?]

Go ahead.

[If we let your soul dissipate while having a barrier around you, will that 'kill you'?]

{So you already know?}

[Oh hey, I was right.]

Ok, ok. What should I call you?

{I don't remember my name.}

I'll call you Mira then? I can start the process when we get out of here, is that okay?

{Sure.}

Noah and Victor soon arrived at the foot of the forest, the place where they first entered from. Victor was the first to step out then Noah followed suit. When reaching the outside world there were other hunters surrounding them and chattering. Noah took out his phone to check the remaining time. He saw the time slowly running down and it hit the five minute mark..

"Lets give the mirror to the coordinator."

Victor said and took the mirror and went up to the guy who was wearing a black suit and a name tag. He handed him the mirror but he looked confused and his confusion was added on when he touched the mirror. Holding up the mirror to his face he opened his mouth and was about to say something but stopped. Victor walked back to Noah and said thanks. He was about to leave but Noah wanted to ask something so he had stopped him.

"Hey, Victor. What did you see when you touched it?"

Victor flinched and was a bit startled but he still answered him. He was awkward while doing so though. First he looked at him and looked away from his gaze.

"I was holding her hands. Everything was so surreal, I can clearly remember that calming voice of hers. She asked me how I have been and how I was doing. It was as if she was really there but I couldn't say anything, maybe deep down I knew it wasn't her. "

Victor then turned his gaze to the field, it seemed as if he was searching for Hazel in the distance before he continued on.

"Even though I knew that being wasn't her I still wanted to tell her my feelings. The things that I couldn't say, the stuff I never had the chance to say. Maybe this time fate would have allowed me to do so, being able to be together even for a split second. I should have said something even if she was fake."

After Victor finished his words he looked back at Noah with a bittersweet grin. Noah saw it and he gave back a reassuring smile.

"Maybe I can help."

Victor raised an eyebrain but Noah had already raised his hands and put a barrier around them. He had cast an invisible spell, although it was weaker than most it was usable for the situation.

Noah was now holding the corrupted soul's fragments; it flooded in the air and it made a slight whisper.

Can you give one last illusion before you leave?

{To that guy over there?}

Noah nodded at the fragments before looking back at Victor with the ominous aura coming from his hand.

"Don't worry it is safe. This time make sure to say your goodbyes."

{…}

{I can do it}

Noah told Victor to touch it, only a small part of the corrupted soul that was slowly getting fragmented as they spoke. Although he was suspicious of it he obliged.

"Victor, hey you listening?"

"Hm?"

"Hey what's wrong? Did you hear what I was saying? I was asking you how you have been, come on answer."

"Ah right!"

Victor was looking at Hazel, she had long brown hair and he could smell a scent of cinnamon coming from her shampoo. He was wearing a yellow dress, a bracelet that he made for her when they were kids and a necklace.

"I love you."

Hazel blushed from that surprise and put her bright reddened face into her hands from the embarrassment.

"That was out of nowhere, how could you say that out of nowhere?"

"I-I'm sorry I couldn't chase you all those years ago, but I finally got the chance to say it now."

Hazel moved the fingers of her hands so she could peer at Victor and began to speak.

"You know, when I saw you at our graduation, you were wearing your cap and gown. I knew something, that I will always want to see you have that joyful expression."

"Huh?"

"I know it's too late for my reply but I have always loved you."

Hazel said with a smile but this time her hand wasn't covering her face. Although nothing was covering her face, something else was there to coat it. She had tears falling from her eyes slowly.

"Good bye Victor."

Hazel this time was standing on that grassland, there were flowers surrounding her and slowly she was fragmenting.

Seeing this Victor quickly ran over to Hazel and started to grab at the fragmented glowing white shards while crying. The tears fell to the flowery field and he was now frantically grasping at them but they were all slipping from his grip and dissipating. Now he sat there alone and whispered one last thing.

"Good bye, Hazel."

Noah looked at the fragmented dark purple and slowly began to purify and change to white shards before they disappeared. He looked at Victor who was now on the ground and looked as if he was hugging himself while he softly cried.

"Thank you."

Victor said while he sat there before he took in a deep breath.

"It was not a problem."

Noah held out his hands toward Victor, He took it and tightly gripped it before he stood up. Noah took down the magic that surrounded them and Victor patted off the dirt on his pants with his hands. His face was now melancholic as he waved at Noah before he went over to a group of hunters.

Noah waved back in silence.

That soul was Hazel, wasn't it?

[Seems to be.]
