Chapter 20 - Interlude—Miss Villainess's Diary

Time surely has passed quickly.

Since Lord Agraviel canceled my engagement and my family cast me aside, so much has happened.

For the first time, I entered The Beast Mountain.

For the first time, I fought a Boss Floor and lost.

For the first time, I realized just how large and beautiful the Dungeon City truly was, and knew that under that wonderful crystalized civilization, darkness lay, creeping silently amongst us.

Until now, I had never imagined that in this same city where I live, people were suffering and even forced into slavery.

I didn't truly believe Mister Roost when he told me that people like The Rats were everywhere.

No, that was incorrect.

I didn't want to believe it.

But after we infiltrated The Rats's base and destroyed them completely, I could only admit that even the Dungeon City was not free from the clutches of shadow and evil.

In this City where such evil existed under the bright light of life, the girl named Tizmilly was alone.

Probably not quite, since I had Mrs. Roost and Mr. Roost with me now who were willing to let me live in their house. But that didn't change the fact that I couldn't truly expected others to help me now.

Even my Family had left me, so who am I expecting others to help me?

That made me wondering why Mister Roost extended his hand toward me.

I always avoiding this matter. However, my questions only increased everyday.

Why did he said that the world was nearing its end? Was he really a madman, or he was telling the truth?

Why did he know so much while he had just finished his second year study in the Academy, and at the same age as me?

What was separating us apart and made we different? Why was he so strong?

He often called me beautiful and called me 'Villainess'. I wondered over the reason, but couldn't find any answer. Maybe he was just teasing me. I didn't know for sure.

What was certain was I knew that his motive was genuine. And his smiles and grins felt warm to me. He was no hypocrite, nor he approached with deception.

And that fact, yet again, made me wondering.

Mister Roost. Who am I in your eyes?

Today was the opening day of our restaurant.

Mrs. Roost always woke me up in the morning. I thanked her for that, but why did she always talk about Mr. Roost around me? It was embarrassing.

Fortunately, Mr. Roost never teased me about it. I didn't think I could face him if he teamed up with his mother.

The day turned out to be busier and more tiring than I expected.

Sirry passed out three times today. The poor girl. I hoped that she could get used to the work quickly; otherwise, it would be hard for us to see her collapsed over and over again.

Gerena... It would be great if she could take her work more seriously.

As for Carole, as expected, she was amazing. She served the customers swiftly and professionally. People liked her even though she sometimes said rude things to them. According to Mister Roost, that was the charm of a beautiful maid. However, to be honest, I didn't really understand what he was talking about.

Still, today was truly an eye-opener for me. Mrs. Roost was turned out of be a popular woman around here.

Most of the customers—about 60%—came to our place because they heard about her cooking. Even Mister Roost was shocked. But Mrs. Roost was indeed a charming mature woman, so perhaps that was to be expected.

So much has happened.

In the future, I'm certain that many more experiences were waiting for me.

Just thinking about it alone had filled my heart with anticipation.

I wonder what kind of strange ideas Mister Roost would come up with tomorrow.

I couldn't wait to work at the restaurant again!
