Deep in the dense forest, Jay and Nining were seen cautiously walking through the fallen leaves.

As a dense forest, the ground that should have been visible was now covered by numerous fallen leaves from the trees.

Therefore, when they had to pass through this area, extreme vigilance was required to avoid any unwanted incidents.

Especially attacks from dangerous creatures like insects and venomous snakes, which were likely hidden beneath the leaves.

However, Jay wasn't really worried about his surroundings. This was possible thanks to his spatial ability, which scans the area around him for tens of meters.

This allowed him to detect or avoid anything considered dangerous, simply to train Nining to be cautious when entering the forest.

He certainly couldn't act too casually, "Nining, remember, when you go into the forest and see a lot of leaves on the ground.

Don't walk too fast. Nining must remain alert and, if necessary, use a stick to hit the area around the path you intend to follow.

This way, if there are any dangerous creatures hiding behind the leaves or around you, they will quickly reveal themselves or avoid you." Jay patiently explained to Nining what to watch out for as they entered the forest.

"Hmm, Nining will remember what you said brother," Nining replied in a cute but understanding voice.

"Good, Nining is a good girl," Jay praised again.

After briefly explaining the things to watch out for while in the forest, Jay then began to focus his search around the area they were passing through.

However, perhaps their luck had run out, and after almost an hour of walking along the path, they had finally found their way.

They couldn't find anything of value. Nining, on the other hand, was probably starting to get bored because they hadn't found anything good in a while, so she started complaining to Jay.

"Brother, why haven't we found anything good? Have all the animals hidden?" Nining asked Jay with a slightly annoyed voice.

"It looks like our luck has run out today, and we need to go back, Nining. So should we go back now?" Jay, also feeling bored, suggested to Nining that they should go back.

"Okay, let's go back, Brother. Nining is tired, and Nining is hungry," Nining replied immediately.

"Oh, you're getting hungry." After hearing Nining's answer, Jay unconsciously began to feel his stomach grow empty, after thinking about their several hours of travel.

He had just realized that they had spent quite a bit of time in this forest area; they had been there for at least three or even four hours.

Because the forest was so dense that it blocked out the incoming sunlight, the two of them were slightly unaware that the sun was almost at its peak and it was time for lunch.

"Then let's go back and take a different route. When we find a suitable spot, we'll have lunch there, how about it?" Jay asked Nining again.

"Okay... okay... let's hurry home, brother. Nining is hungry," she replied cheerfully, knowing that they would soon return and have lunch together.

It took almost another half hour for Jay to find a safe place for lunch in the forest.

Their lunch break was on the edge of a small stream that flowed through the forest.

The stream was only about one and a half meters wide and tens of centimeters deep.

Jay estimated that the stream likely originated from a spring within the forest, and he wondered where it flowed.

Jay predicted that the river would flow into the Anak Adam River, which also has its source in dozens of smaller rivers, one of which was the one they had discovered.

In the river, there were no large fish to be seen, only a few small ones measuring a few centimeters, along with river prawns that appeared to be medium-sized. On the other hand, there were also several types of shellfish that seemed to be found within.

And seeing this, Jay naturally wouldn't waste the opportunity to harvest as many river prawns and shellfish as possible.

"Brother, there are lots of river prawns here!!" Nining exclaimed happily. said to Jay.

"Yes, there are still plenty of river prawns here. So how about we have some prawns for lunch? Does Nining want some?" Jay asked Nining.

"Um... um... Nining wants some prawns for lunch, bro?" Nining replied quickly.

"Then, let me catch some prawns in this river first," Jay replied quickly.

So, Jay immediately began catching the prawns in the river. Luckily, he had the ability to scan from his space, making it easier for him to catch them.

If he had to use his hands normally, it would have taken him quite a while to catch the prawns. After all, river prawns are quite difficult to catch by hand due to their wild nature.

After a while, Jay managed to catch almost 1 kg of prawns, along with dozens of river mussels.

Choosing an open, flat spot, Jay then began building a makeshift stove from wood and stones found on the riverbank.

With Nining's swift assistance in lighting the firewood, Jay soon had cleaned the shrimp and clams, not forgetting to boil them first.

Fortunately, he had prepared sufficient supplies: a small pot for boiling and stir-frying, rice stored in a bamboo, spices, and cooking oil.

With all these preparations in place, Jay meticulously began preparing their lunch, cooking the rice in the bamboo and sautéing the shrimp and clams in the pot.

It took about an hour for everything to be cooked, and Nining, who had been waiting for a long time, was now eager to eat Jay's lunch.

Placing their hands on the leaves, they both ate with gusto, devouring their lunch.

"Hmm, this shrimp is delicious, brother. It's sweet, spicy, and savory... Nining loves it!" Nining said happily.

"Good, if you like it. Let's finish it, and we should hurry back!" Jay, seeing Nining eating so eagerly, was delighted and sped up his eating.

Finally, after some time, they finished their lunch and cleaned up the trash. Jay didn't forget to put out the fire and extinguish the embers from the stove he'd built.

After ensuring everything was safe, Jay and Nining continued their journey back to the village.

Long story short, after some time, the two of them arrived outside the forest and saw a familiar path ahead, making Jay feel happy.

However, as Jay passed a large tree at the edge of the forest, a system notification startled him.
