Chapter 26 - Trail of the Qilin

The next morning, when Ganyu woke up, it was as if nothing at all had happened the previous night.

However, if one looked closely, it was still possible to notice something off about her.

She didn't quite dare look at Junze's mouth.

Junze, for his part, didn't tease his master either.

Master had thin skin. If he really pushed too far, who knew whether this soft-natured master might suddenly explode.

Courtyard

Today, as agreed yesterday, Ganyu planned to teach Junze cultivation methods.

Ganyu looked at the now-grown Junze in front of her and nodded.

This age was also the age when she herself had first stepped onto the path of cultivation.

"Ze," Ganyu said, "when Master saw the ice around you yesterday, you had already grasped the power of the Cryo element, right?"

Junze nodded. "Yes, Master."

A chill emerged in his palm.

The moment Junze invoked the Cryo element, the temperature of the entire courtyard dropped several degrees. Slightly damp spots had already begun to frost over.

Just by activating it like this, it already reached such an effect.

Junze felt a bit surprised.

It seemed the coconut milk's effect had directly allowed his power to grow explosively.

Ganyu's face also showed clear astonishment.

When she had first grasped Cryo power, she definitely hadn't reached this level.

"Alright, alright. Master understands."

Ganyu gestured for Junze to disperse the cold in his hand and continued,

"Since you and Master both possess Cryo elemental power, that makes things easier."

Most of Ganyu's combat techniques were Cryo-related.

Although she also knew other adeptal arts, none were as powerful as this aspect.

So Junze's Cryo affinity saved her quite a bit of trouble.

"Come, Ze. Look."

Ganyu extended her hand.

On that jade-like hand, a large amount of frost condensed into a vortex, compressing inward.

Gradually… gradually…

A flower bud made of ice formed in her palm.

The bud slowly began to bloom under Ganyu's control.

At the instant it blossomed, the entire courtyard was already flooded with freezing aura.

Compared to Junze's earlier display, it was simply the difference between heaven and earth.

When that ice lotus fully bloomed, the entire courtyard seemed to fall under its dominion.

"So… beautiful."

Junze's gaze, for some reason, was completely drawn to the lotus.

He could sense the terrifying power contained within it. He absolutely must not touch it, yet his body could not look away.

Beautiful… yet deadly.

Trail of the Qilin.

The name of Ganyu's elemental skill surfaced in Junze's mind.

But compared to the game, reality was obviously far more exaggerated—more like the methods of an immortal.

The display of Trail of the Qilin did not end with a single lotus blooming.

The ice lotus in Ganyu's hand gradually floated upward, and Junze's gaze rose with it.

And Ganyu?

Her figure retreated, her entire being becoming incomparably graceful—but Junze didn't notice at all.

In the next moment, everywhere Ganyu stepped, another ice lotus remained behind.

Gradually…

On the table, under the eaves, across the ground, within_toggle the flowerbeds…

Ice lotuses bloomed everywhere.

And Ganyu had already appeared behind Junze at some unknown moment.

"Ze."

Ganyu's gentle voice instantly jolted Junze awake.

"!!!"

Junze's body trembled as he snapped free from the lotus's allure.

Only then did he notice the surrounding sea of ice lotuses, his eyes widening.

Wasn't this a bit too exaggerated?!

Was this still the Trail of the Qilin he knew?

Ganyu pressed close behind him and extended her fingertip. A lotus descended onto it.

"This is called Trail of the Qilin."

"When you cast it, all evil spirits and monsters will be drawn to these lotuses."

"And within this field, your movements will become lighter and freer, making it easier to withdraw from battle."

Why did Ganyu teach this first instead of a more destructive technique?

Naturally, because what she considered first was that if battle occurred, Junze should be able to escape quickly.

Trail of the Qilin could accomplish this very well.

Ganyu placed the lotus into Junze's hand, letting him feel it.

"So pretty," Junze marveled.

Ganyu smiled faintly. "Although it looks nice, it's still very dangerous."

As she spoke, she tossed that lotus into the sky.

The next moment—

BOOM!

A world-shaking explosion rang out.

"!!!"

Damage comparable to a grenade.

And this was with Ganyu holding back.

Seeing Junze's stunned expression, Ganyu felt a bit proud. The ahoge on her head even swayed.

This master of his was still quite attractive.

If Junze knew what Ganyu was thinking, he would definitely say: Master, every part of you is attractive!

"Trail of the Qilin lets you both escape enemy entanglement and counterattack," Ganyu explained.

After finishing the demonstration, she waved her hand.

The surrounding frost and ice lotuses vanished.

Ganyu smiled and asked, "So then, Ze, do you want to learn this?"

"I do!!!" Junze shouted excitedly.

This was true adeptal art!

This was the real Trail of the Qilin!

"Good. Master will teach you."

Ganyu smiled as she rubbed Junze's head.

For the entire rest of the morning, Ganyu helped Junze learn to master Trail of the Qilin.

How to condense the ice flower; how to give the lotus attraction; how to enhance one's own speed…

Ganyu explained everything in extreme detail, even guiding Junze's hands as he cast it, letting him feel each step carefully.

Junze's rate of mastery was astonishingly fast.

In less than half a morning, he had already grasped the essentials of forming the ice lotus.

However, achieving Ganyu's drifting grace and lotus-with-every-step still required some time to practice.

Ganyu was also deeply shocked by Junze's learning speed.

It even allowed Junze to heavily progress a self-initiative task.

Yet while Ganyu felt proud, she also felt a bit defeated.

Because now, after just half a morning, Junze had already grasped the core technique and no longer needed her guidance.

Back then, she herself had needed a full month…

"Ze is really smart," Ganyu murmured softly, watching Junze practicing on his own.

Junze came to her side and said with a grin, "It's because Master teaches well."

That was indeed true.

Ganyu's teaching was practically like chewing food to paste before feeding it to Junze.

At this level of detail, plus the boost from the [Attribute: Focused Tranquility], if Junze still couldn't learn, he would suspect himself of being an idiot.

"Not at all," Ganyu said, a bit shy from her disciple's praise.

But the swaying ahoge on her head still showed she was very happy.
