It didn't take long for the clash to happen, the sound of metal hitting metal ringing out throughout the forest
"Guh" Xenovia frowned, feeling herself being pushed back from the force of the attack "I see you" slashing at the creature
Whatever it was that she was facing had already moved out of the way, causing her slash to cleave straight through a tree
Xenovia frowned "Damn, missed it" readying Durandal once again as the mysterious creature sped off again before coming back for another attack
"What the hell is that?" Blaze asked, looking at Rias and Topaz
"It's like, nothing that I know of" Topaz replied as she tried to think "and don't think that just because I prefer cute and sexy familiars that I don't know what should be here ya know"
"Could it be a kamitachi?" Rias suggested as she watched the creature come around again after Xenovia had warded it off once again, its body cutting through the tree branches as if they were made of paper
"The sharpness seems about right, but with that kind of speed, there's like no way it could be that" Topaz shook her head
"What about a raiju, I hear they're pretty fast" Blaze asked
"Yeah, but they would never be able to cut something this cleanly, it's like a mirror" Topaz stated, picking up a cut off branch "ya know, maybe I should get one for myself, I could make it cut though gems to get myself a unique mirror that would not only sparkle, but I could like sell them to my gal pals to be able to afford to buy some hella cute clothes"
At that moment a branch above Topaz's head was cut and fell directly on her head
"It seems that it can hear and understand you, and doesn't like that idea" Blaze commented, returning to watching the battle between Xenovia and the creature
After a long while of Xenovia defending from the creatures attacks, it finally started to slow down
"It looks like if she keeps this up Xenovia will win this battle" Rias noted
Blaze shook her head "I don't think so, I can't imagine that she would like to win like that, I feel like she'll challenge it to one final attack, and she'll say something along the lines of 'if I can stop you with this next attack, why don't you become my familiar'"
"Ha, ha, ha, you're good, the best creature that I've come across today, I can tell that you're getting tired and only have one more good attack in you left, as such I want you to give me everything that you have left, hold nothing back, I won't either and the winner of our bout will become the master and the loser will become the familiar, what do you say?" Xenovia proposed
The creature stopped for just a moment, allowing everyone to see that it seemed to be a blade with multiple wings attacked to its back, its whole body tilting forward in agreement before speeding off, circling Xenovia in a circle that was getting wider and wider as its speed continued to increase
In contrast to it Xenovia brought the blade above her head and started channelling her magic into it, Durandal starting to buzz with holy energy
"I don't believe it, was that a blade spirit" Rias exclaimed in shock
"It looks like it, and like a really powerful one, it had thirteen wings meaning that it was easily over a thousand years old, each wing doubles its speed, usually they are captured and tamed when they are young because unless you're like, really strong and fast, they're impossible to catch and normally they just run away from fights or destroy whoever they're fighting weapons" Topaz added, her hands covering her mouth in amazement
"Well thankfully for Xenovia, her Durandal could handle it, now lets see if she can win this fight" Blaze murmured as the 4 turned their gazes back to the battle
Having reached its top speed the creature turned and went straight for Xenovia, not attacking from behind or the sides, facing her head on
"That's what I'm talking about" Xenovia beamed "now take this" she roared, bringing her blade down on the creature
The tip of the creatures blade collided with Durandal's edge, the screeching sound causing all 3 ladies to cover their ears as the holy energy fought against the metallic power of the spirit
The combination of both powers soon destabilised and shot both the spirit and Xenovia to be thrown backwards, both only stopping after hitting a tree behind them
"Xenovia, are you ok?" Blaze shouted, running over to her with Rias, Topaz and the strange creature behind her
"Yeah, I'm good" Xenovia panted "but I think that was a draw" she sighed, looking at the spirit who was flapping its wings to get itself back into the air "well neither of us won, so I guess neither of us is going to be the master or familiar, so you're free to do whatever you want to"
Hearing Xenovia's words the spirit hovered in place for a moment, before flying over to her, stopping in front of her, releasing little pulses of spirit power in front of her
"Wow, it seems it's acknowledged you" Topaz smiled "given that you never forced it and was able to compete with it for so long it is willing to become your familiar, so long as you promise it will be and equal contract"
"That sounds good to me" Xenovia grinned, pushing herself onto her feet "so how do we do this?" she asked Topaz
"Place your blade against it, make sure that both of you are bumping at the same height as a difference in height shows who's the top and who's the bottom in the relationship" Topaz explained
Holding Durandal at a decent height, Xenovia waited for the blade spirit to press against it, feeling the power of the creature respond to her own as the contract was made
"Well, I certainly got what I wanted out of this trip" Xenovia smiled "is that one your familia Blaze?"
"What one?" Blaze asked in wonder, before turning to her side and noticing a small creature floating next to her, "when the hell did that get there?!"
The creature continued to hover next to Blaze, its body seeming to change and morph, never keeping the same shape while it stayed in place, seemingly interested in Blaze
"I've never seen a creature like this before" Rias mumbled
"Let alone seen, I've never even heard of a creature like this before, a familiar that has no solid form, that is like so cool" Topaz said with a bubbly voice
"Wait a minute, could this be?" mused Herm "Blaze, say 'boing boing hold'"
"Say what?" Blaze asked
"Boing boing hold" Herm repeated "just do it"
"Okay.... boing boing hold" Blaze said in with an uncertain tone
"Boing boing" replied the creature happily, flying at Blaze and quickly burrowing under her shirt
"What the hell!?" Blaze exclaimed as the creature suddenly turned into a red bra with golden accents, the material feeling incredibly comfortable and fitting her perfectly
"Now say spheres, long comfy" Herm beamed, seemingly becoming more excited by the second
"haaa" Blaze sighed, knowing that Herm wasn't going to explain anything or stop asking her to do it until she did "spheres, long comfy"
