A few days after the Kokabiel incident, Blaze was relaxing in the occult research clubroom to keep Rias company as she did her paperwork while the other members of the peerage were off doing their usual devil work when there was a knock at the door
"Come in" responded Rias, answering in a way that showed that she wasn't expecting any company
Been given permission the person who had knocked entered the room, revealing that it was Xenovia who looked slightly downcast
"Xenovia-san, what are you doing here? didn't you return to the church alongside Asia-san and Irina-san" asked Rias
"I did" Xenovia responded quietly "but once they found out that I knew about the death of God they told me that I had to leave the church as my pressence could have an effect on God's system, and that they couldn't risk experimenting with turning me into an angel as losing a girl with twilight healing is one thing, losing a natural born weilder of Durandal is another thing entirely"
"Then why come here?" Blaze asked
"Well apart from the time that I spent out on missions the only place I ever really lived was at the church, and with me not able to live there any longer I was out of options so I thought I would ask if I could live with you again, it was nice living at your house as it gave me a sense of freedom" Xenovia explained
"Maybe a little too much freedom" thought Blaze as she remembered Xenovia walking around naked
"Hey I'm not complaining" Herm giggled "another harem member is always welcome" she said even though Xenovia couldn't hear her
"It would only be for a short while I look for someone who needs a strong female swordswoman and is willing to look after her" Xenovia said bowing before Blaze
Seeing an oppurtunity Rias spoke up "I just so happen to be looking for such a person, would you like to become my knight?"
"While I am flattered by the offer and would love to I wish to keep my faith and becoming a devil would make it so that I am unable to pray" Xenovia replied "I wish to one day be able to pray by Irina and Asia's side"
"Then I have the perfect way to solve both of your problems" Herm exclaimed out loud so that Rias and Xenovia could hear her
"Herm, what do you mean by that?" asked Rias who was surprised by Herm's sudden speaking out loud
"Who's there? show yourself" Xenovia stated, not knowing where the voice was coming from and entering a combat stance
"That would be my sacred gear" Blaze told Xenovia "she's a goddess who is why I am so strong and have the abilities that I do" leaving out everything that she could about what kind of goddess she was and her personality
"If Xenovia wants to be able to pray and Rias wants a new member to add to her peerage we can use my power to make it so that both things can be true" Herm prounounced proudly "if you make a deal and get reincarnated with Blaze acting as a middlewoman we can produce the worlds first holy devil, so what's your opinion? want to do it?" Herm asked Xenovia
"You mean I could gain power and a place to live, what's the catch? with devils there always is one" Xenovia frowned
"I am a goddess not a devil" Herm exclaimed in shock "I don't make deals like that"
"Bullshit, what's the catch" Blaze commented
"Fine, technically because I will be involved with this reincarnation Blaze will be benefitting from it as well, the price for doing this will be that Blaze will gain the same ability to weild Durandal as you have without you losing any of your ability to do so as a cost" Herm admitted
"I'm guessing she will also be in the same situation with me as Rias is?" Blaze queried
"Yeah, that's not a problem is it?" Herm said with pseudo innocence
"What do you mean by the same situation as Rias?" Xenovia questioned Herm
"You will be able to percieve my sacred gear form that Blaze keeps hidden from others due to her not wanting others to see it" Herm declared with Blaze responding in the background stating 'yeah I wonder why I would do that' with a bit of scorn evident in her voice "also you will technically be married to Blaze as I am the goddess of marriage and this is how my contracts work"
"Seems fair enough, let's do it then" Xenovia stated "but if this doesn't work and I am unable to pray after this I will take your head using Durrandal" she threatened as she created a opening in the space where she stored Durandal
"Don't worry everything will go fine, if it doesn't feel free to take my head" Herm swore out loud
"Your not talking about the one up top are you" Blaze sighed as she spoke to Herm in her mind
"Nope which should go to show how confident I am" Herm replied
"I trust Herm, it was thanks to her power that I was able to gain help from Blaze in the past and was able to get out of my arranged marriage" Rias chimed in
"as much as she annoys me sometimes I also trust her and I promis that I will let you strike me down if this doesn't go as planned" Blaze agreed with Rias
"Then let's do this" Herm exclaimed as Rias brought out the knight piece that she would use to reincarnate Xenovia.
