It wasn't just one street.
It wasn't even one part of the city.
It seemed as though the entire route had been transformed.
My eyes widened.
"Alexander..."
He glanced at me.
A faint smile was already playing on his lips.
I looked back outside.
My heart began pounding.
Suddenly, his words from the event two weeks ago came rushing back to me.
'I'll make sure to decorate the whole city for you.'
I had thought he was teasing.
Apparently, he wasn't.
"You actually did it," I whispered.
He didn't answer immediately.
He simply reached across Aimy and took my hand.
"I told you I would."
I looked at him, completely speechless.
Aimy, who had been listening to our conversation, looked between us curiously.
"Daddy, why are there flowers everywhere?"
Alexander chuckled.
"Because your mother likes beautiful things."
I turned toward him, still unable to believe what I was seeing.
"You did all this?"
He squeezed my hand.
"For you."
My eyes returned to the streets.
