One of the security guards silently stepped forward and handed me a bouquet of white lilies before retreating again.
I knelt before the two headstones.
My fingers gently brushed away a few fallen leaves.
"Mum..."
"Dad..."
"I'm sorry it took me so long to come."
My voice trembled.
Then I smiled through my tears.
"But look who I brought with me."
Alexander lowered Aimy beside me.
I gently wrapped an arm around her.
"This is Aimy."
"The last time I came here..."
"She hadn't been born yet."
"But look at her now."
"She's already grown so much."
Aimy blinked at me in confusion before looking curiously at the two gravestones.
I smiled and stroked her hair.
"And..."
I looked toward Alexander.
"Alexander came with us too."
"I know."
"I'm sure you're both surprised."
A small laugh escaped me.
"Don't worry."
"The next time I come..."
"I'll tell you everything that's happened."
Beside me, Alexander quietly knelt down.
He didn't interrupt.
