After Lelei, Tuka, and Rory came over, Sylvar Crowe closed the space-channel magic.
After telling the soldier on guard that he wanted to see the commander, Sylvar Crowe then took a table, chairs, and benches out of his magic book. He placed them down and motioned for Tuka, Rory, and Lelei to sit down.
He had only watched episode one of Tokyo Ghoul. Since Lelei did not know how to use a computer, he did not play episode two.
More importantly, Lelei was too tired to translate.
So Sylvar Crowe took out the books he had previously given Lelei when he was teaching her the language. He asked Lelei to teach Tuka and Rory. He wanted them to learn the language as well, because otherwise communication would be too difficult.
At this moment, Rory stood up.
She walked in front of Sylvar Crowe.
She pressed her chest against his.
Then she leaned forward slightly and seemed to say something in his ear.
Sylvar Crowe's first reaction was that, although she still looked like a small girl, she actually had some substance. She felt delicate, soft, and easy to pull closer. And she was over nine hundred years old, a witch. From a legal standpoint, there was nothing wrong with it.
Wait.
Wait.
Why was he thinking about this?
Was something influencing him?
No.
No.
He should like older women with long black hair.
Rory glanced at him.
Her priest uniform was also a kind of Gothic clothing. The black and red Gothic attire gave people a unique charm. Her long black hair fell all the way to her waist.
Sylvar Crowe suddenly felt a surge of blood rushing upward. His nose itched slightly, as if it might start bleeding.
Most importantly, Rory's current posture and expression were extremely cute.
Not good.
Not good.
Was his taste about to change?
Sylvar Crowe's mind was in chaos.
At that moment, Lelei and Tuka walked over and pulled Rory aside.
Only then did Sylvar Crowe come back to his senses.
He suddenly realized what he had just been thinking.
He immediately felt that he might as well dig a hole and crawl inside it.
It was too embarrassing.
But the more embarrassed he felt, the more he could not show it.
Because as long as he was not embarrassed, then the ones who would feel embarrassed would be the others.
Sylvar Crowe looked calmly at Tuka and Lelei.
Sure enough, under his calm gaze, the two of them quickly looked away.
Sylvar Crowe coughed lightly.
Then he changed the subject.
"Do you know why I'm being so polite here?"
Lelei thought for a moment and said,
"Could it be that there is a powerful person on the other side of the Gate?"
"Something like that," Sylvar Crowe said.
"But to be more precise, the other side possesses technology. Some of that technology is something even I do not want to face head-on."
"For example, missiles."
"The most powerful type of missile is called a nuclear bomb. It is manufactured based on the principle of the sun, and it can destroy an entire city."
"I remember that after a nuclear bomb explodes, within a radius of one hundred kilometers, no one can live there and no plants can grow for one hundred years."
"Even the river water flowing through that region cannot be drunk."
Lelei's expression changed.
"What a terrifying weapon. It is simply the embodiment of destruction. Are there many nuclear bombs?"
"There are not that many," Sylvar Crowe said.
"But if all the nuclear bombs in that world were added together, turning the world into a complete death zone would not be difficult."
"Of course, there is also the question of whether monsters that live on nuclear radiation exist."
"And whether there are creatures that cannot be killed by nuclear radiation."
"Just thinking about it is frightening."
Lelei nodded slowly.
"The power and weapons to destroy the world… how terrifying."
At that moment, Sylvar Crowe noticed that the camp in the distance had become somewhat chaotic.
He turned to the three women.
"They will probably arrive soon."
"I will speak with them."
"So stay quiet. Do you understand?"
"Lelei, tell Rory to stay quiet as well."
"Alright," Lelei said.
Lelei translated what Sylvar Crowe had said.
Rory puffed out her cheeks slightly.
Sylvar Crowe saw her expression and thought that she looked a little angry.
But she still looked cute.
No.
What was he thinking again?
At this moment, the commander finally came out to greet them.
Sylvar Crowe looked at him with an expression that seemed to say:
"You are very sensible."
The officer was slightly sleepy. When he saw that expression, he felt confused about what exactly it meant.
However, he still spoke politely.
"Hello. The superpowered individual who protected the citizens."
"This is magic," Sylvar Crowe said calmly.
"It is not a superpower."
The officer nodded.
"Thank you for your help earlier. I had a friend there at the time. If it had not been for your assistance, he might have died."
"Thank you very much."
As he said this, he bent his waist and bowed ninety degrees toward Sylvar Crowe.
Sylvar Crowe replied calmly.
"When encountering difficulties, those who possess strength should help."
"That is the meaning of strength."
The commander looked around.
"It is not very appropriate to stay outside the camp all the time."
"Please come inside the camp and sit down while we talk."
Then the commander welcomed them into the barracks.
They sat down.
The officer asked,
"What exactly are you planning to do here?"
Sylvar Crowe replied calmly.
"I came here to purchase supplies from Earth."
"After all, this Gate will close in a few days."
"If I do not purchase supplies now, once the Gate closes, I will have nowhere to buy them."
The officer suddenly jumped up.
"What?!"
"This Gate will close?"
"And in only a dozen days?!"
"Of course," Sylvar Crowe replied.
"How is that possible? How do you know that?" the officer asked with disbelief.
"I found a book about this Gate in an ancient library in the other world."
"That book records the information."
The officer hesitated for a moment.
"Could you allow us to read that book?"
"There is no problem letting you read it," Sylvar Crowe said.
"But the problem is that I spent a great deal of effort obtaining that book."
"So why not exchange it for some of your currency?"
"It should be very important to you and your government, correct?"
The officer nodded immediately.
"I will contact the higher authorities right away."
While the officer contacted his superiors, Lelei, Tuka, Rory, and Sylvar Crowe quietly drank tea.
About five minutes later, the commander returned.
During this time, Sylvar Crowe had written a list.
"The higher authorities have agreed to exchange the book for money," the officer said.
"The price will be about ten million yuan."
Sylvar Crowe calculated it in his mind.
Ten million yuan was roughly equivalent to around one hundred thousand RMB.
It felt somewhat stingy.
But it did not matter.
There probably was not that much to buy anyway.
"Alright," Sylvar Crowe said and nodded slightly.
"There is another matter," the officer continued.
"The higher authorities are planning to hold a global live broadcast tomorrow."
"They wish to broadcast your heroic deeds."
"They also want to ask you about the detailed situation of the other world."
Sylvar Crowe thought about it carefully.
"No problem."
"But you must send someone to take us shopping."
He handed over the list.
"And please help me collect the items written here."
The officer looked at the list.
There were books about cuisines from various countries.
Books about how to make various types of clothing.
Downloads of all movies and anime from around the world.
Various gambling methods.
Coke.
Potato chips.
An electric grill pan.
A large quantity of self-heating hot pots.
Large amounts of instant noodles.
Books on chemistry and physics.
Just by looking at it, it was obvious that this person planned to live in another world permanently.
"No problem," the officer said.
"These are all small matters."
"By the way," Sylvar Crowe continued,
"where is our guide?"
"We are going to the mall to shop."
"It would be best if we could go there immediately after arriving on Earth."
"We need to buy clothes."
"And we also need simultaneous interpretation devices for each of us."
The commander nodded.
"I can assign a soldier from the camp to accompany you."
After that, the commander personally drove a vehicle.
He brought them, along with the soldier who would guide them shopping, to the other side of the Gate.
To Earth.
As soon as they walked out, they saw a massive crowd.
Countless people were shouting loudly around them.
"Benefactor!"
"Benefactor!"
Sylvar Crowe glanced at the surrounding buildings.
Then he said quietly,
"Troublesome."
He immediately opened a spatial tunnel ahead.
Then he led Rory and the soldier through the tunnel.
On the other side of the tunnel was the alley where Sylvar Crowe had been robbed when he first arrived.
Then he let the soldier lead the way toward the shopping area.
The soldier was still immersed in the shock of instantly arriving in another location.
When he noticed that Sylvar Crowe and the others had already started walking away, he quickly followed behind them.
Earlier, Sylvar Crowe had robbed several street thugs and obtained more than one hundred thousand yuan in cash.
So he was currently quite wealthy.
He directly purchased clothes at a store.
However, only Sylvar Crowe, Lelei, and Tuka changed their clothes.
Lelei now looked more ordinary.
Meanwhile, the jeans perfectly highlighted Tuka's figure.
What a nice butt.
Sylvar Crowe immediately forced himself to look away.
If he stared too much, he would definitely be regarded as a pervert.
Rory did not change her clothes.
"I am wearing a priest uniform," she said.
"There is no way for me to take it off."
Afterward, they continued walking through the shopping mall.
Because of their clothing styles, they were treated like strange two-dimensional cosplayers by passersby.
But soon, the moment of being proven wrong arrived.
When they passed by a Gothic clothing store, the Gothic outfits displayed inside immediately attracted Rory's attention.
Her eyes seemed to shine.
She stared directly at the clothing inside the shop.
Sylvar Crowe looked at the money in his hand.
Then he looked at the price tags in the store.
He fell silent.
Then he turned to the soldier guiding them.
"When will our money arrive?"
The soldier looked confused.
"What money?"
Sylvar Crowe sighed.
"You are very unreliable."
"Call your superior. He will understand."
After the soldier made the call, the issue of money was resolved very quickly.
A vehicle soon arrived.
Someone stepped out while carrying a metal case filled with cash.
Sylvar Crowe turned to Rory.
"Go inside and choose whatever you want."
"Let Lelei translate for you."
"You have money now. Buy whatever you like."
Rory did not react at first.
But after Lelei translated the sentence, Rory immediately rushed into the shop with excitement.
Five minutes later, while Rory was still choosing clothes, the sound of brakes echoed outside.
A man wearing a black suit walked inside while holding a silver case.
He handed the case to the soldier.
At that moment, the soldier's phone rang.
After speaking briefly, he handed the phone to Sylvar Crowe.
"It's for you."
Sylvar Crowe picked up the phone.
"Hello. If you have something to say, say it quickly."
"Don't be so impatient," a majestic voice said from the other side.
"Would you like to stay a few more days?"
"Do not worry. All expenses can be covered by us."
"No need," Sylvar Crowe replied.
"I do not have any special requests."
"If you have nothing important to say, do not waste my time."
"If you have something to say, say it directly."
"Very well," the voice said.
"It is about that book."
"I would like to confirm whether the information inside is true."
"That is nonsense," Sylvar Crowe said impatiently.
"Why would I lie to you?"
"Whether the Gate closes or not will be determined in thirty days."
"I understand," the voice replied.
"The live broadcast will be held tomorrow."
"Please be sure to attend."
"I will naturally attend something that I have already agreed to," Sylvar Crowe said.
The voice continued.
"Tonight we will arrange accommodation for you."
"You will stay at a hot spring hotel."
"We will book the entire place. No other guests will be present."
Sylvar Crowe's eyes flashed slightly.
"I understand what you mean," he said.
"No problem. It is only a small matter."
After the call ended, the president of the country on the other side narrowed his eyes slightly.
He felt that the other party had already noticed the true purpose.
Then he chuckled.
"So what if he noticed?"
"It does not matter."
But…
He did not know whether Sylvar Crowe truly understood.
Or if he was only pretending to understand.
