(MASON'S POV)
I woke up gasping, my heart slamming hard against my bruised ribs like it was trying to break free.
For a terrifying second, I looked wildly around the dark room, disoriented and panicked. Then reality slowly came back. It had only been a nightmare.
In the dream, Liam and my father had been chasing me through the house, their faces twisted with pure rage, fists raised high. Their voices kept screaming every ugly word they'd ever thrown at me: "Fag!" "Disappointment!" "You're not my son!" I ran as fast as I could, but the hallways kept stretching longer and darker, my legs heavy and aching with pain. Just when I thought I might escape, strong hands grabbed me from behind and dragged me down—
I sat up so fast the whole room spun around me. Cold sweat covered my skin, making my shirt stick uncomfortably. The IV line tugged sharply at my wrist, a small sting that reminded me exactly where I was — Blue's house. Safe. At least… I was supposed to be.
