"Let me officially introduce you. This is the Mobius I mentioned earlier. From today on, she's a member of the Moth Who Chases the Flames squad!"
Lierre introduced Mobius to Rita and Ana with familiar ease.
Moth Who Chases the Flames... squad?
Mobius turned her head to look at this blonde young girl, who didn't seem much older than Griseo.
She knew the Moth Who Chases the Flames better than anyone, but adding the word "squad" at the end... didn't that infinitely lower the prestige of a global organization?
Mobius remained calm on the surface, but her brain quickly analyzed the available information.
First, there were no traces of her memory being altered. Second, her bodily functions had indeed completely terminated after the battle with the Herrscher of Finality.
At the very moment her functions stopped, she had performed one last human experiment on herself.
But whether that final experiment succeeded or not, she shouldn't be standing here in this form.
Mobius could feel that her current body was filled with an astonishing vitality. She estimated roughly that this body was now infinitely close to her ideal of immortality.
"Hello, Miss Mobius. I am Rita Rossweisse, currently Lady Lierre's personal maid. It is a pleasure to work with you," Rita introduced herself.
"Ana Schariac, captain of the Moth Who Chases the Flames Valkyrie squad. Welcome to the team!" Ana said enthusiastically.
Ana was only surprised for a moment by Mobius appearing out of thin air and had no intention of prying deeper.
Because among the Divine Keys in Schicksal's arsenal, every single one possessed incredible abilities.
She assumed Lierre must hold a special Divine Key, and that Golden Pillar of Light from earlier was simply the effect of its activation.
Ana looked down at Mobius's petite frame, a hint of worry flashing in her eyes.
This child who walked out of the light was far too young. Did they really have to let Mobius step onto the battlefield so early?
The battlefield didn't just have countless Honkai-infected zombies and massive Honkai Beasts; it also had Herrschers who were like natural disasters!
One could lose their life at any moment!
The women named Rita and Ana in front of me indeed don't know me, and they don't even seem to care much about the name 'Moth Who Chases the Flames.'
The person who resurrected her had nothing to do with them.
Mobius turned her gaze back to Lierre.
This person, who could accurately call out her name from the very start, clearly knew something.
"I suddenly find myself in a strange place after a moment of daze, and then I'm inexplicably joined to an organization. Isn't someone going to explain the sequence of events to me?"
Mobius took a few steps back, feigning fear, and put a safe distance between herself and the three of them.
Hearing this, Rita and Ana both looked toward Lierre.
"You two go wait outside for a moment. I need to talk to her alone."
Lierre looked at Mobius, playing with the golden Cross she had just picked up.
"Then I shall not disturb your conversation with Miss Mobius. Rita will take her leave."
After Rita finished speaking, she led the bewildered Ana out of the room, thoughtfully closing the door behind her.
She had confirmed from Otto that summoned beings could not defy the will of the summoner, so she wasn't too worried that Mobius would harm Lierre.
Even if Mobius gave her an extremely dangerous feeling.
"Hehehe... Just like that, you've easily dismissed your bodyguards. Are you certain I'm no threat to you, or are you absolutely confident you can survive my hands?"
Mobius dropped her timid act instantly. A playful smile played on her face, and her dangerous gaze swept up and down Lierre, seemingly trying to figure out what was so special about the person in front of her.
Lierre was unmoved by Mobius's verbal threats. As she approached, she explained patiently:
"Dr. Mobius, since I dared to summon you, I naturally don't worry about you attacking me. As for where my confidence comes from..."
She paused for a beat, then lightly exhaled a sentence: "Dear Dr. Mobius, since we have nothing else to do, why not perform a dance to celebrate your rebirth?"
As soon as the words left her mouth, the green spikes lunging from the shadows came to a violent halt. In the next second, they dissolved back into green liquid and retracted into the shadows, vanishing.
Meanwhile, Mobius, who had been leisurely self-assured just a second ago, now had a dark expression as her body began to dance uncontrollably—a dance she had learned from Eden.
Lierre pulled over a chair and sat down to admire this classical dance.
A few minutes later, Mobius stared at Lierre with an ugly expression, doing her best to suppress the raging fire of anger in her heart. This was the first time she had been toyed with like this.
However, it wasn't without gain. At the very least, she had tested her current situation and discovered the source of Lierre's confidence.
Once she found a way to resolve Lierre's control over her in the future, she would surely repay today's humiliation a hundredfold.
Endure!
"Welcome to the Current Civilization, fifty thousand years later. Currently, the Third Herrscher has already appeared, and there are a few years left until the Descent of the Herrscher of Finality."
Lierre skillfully ground coffee beans, preparing to personally brew a cup of fine coffee to soothe Mobius's anger.
"Current Civilization, fifty thousand years later..."
Mobius raised an eyebrow. She had originally thought this world might be a World Bubble; she hadn't expected the truth to be like this.
She wasn't worried that Lierre would lie to her, because given a little time, she could investigate everything herself.
But to resurrect her across fifty thousand years—was this truly something a human could achieve?!
Mobius couldn't help but look at Lierre, who was focused on grinding coffee. With her current level of knowledge, she couldn't think of a single theory that could explain this phenomenon.
"So you went to all the trouble to resurrect me... no, according to your words, to summon me to this era. What exactly is your purpose?" This was the question Mobius cared about most.
"To fight the Honkai and stop Kevin's Stigma Project," Lierre said, looking up at her.
"I can understand the former, but the latter... I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but against Kevin, I have no chance of winning." Mobius shook her head.
Regardless of whether Lierre was telling the truth, the situation overall hadn't developed in a bad direction.
The Stigma Project was her own creation. To stop its implementation, one would have to deal with Kevin first; otherwise, everything else was out of the question.
And since her strength was insufficient to shake Kevin, her presence as a variable shouldn't affect the Stigma Project.
"I know that, of course. So, I plan to gather all the Flame-Chasers except for Kevin, Su, and Griseo, and we'll go together to gang up on Kevin. I refuse to believe we won't have a single chance at winning."
Lierre placed a freshly brewed cup of coffee in front of Mobius.
She noticed that Mobius's body visibly trembled at her words.
"With my own case as an example, I naturally have no reason to doubt your words. However..."
Mobius's tone was calm, the still coffee reflecting her youthful face. "Elysia's situation is different from ours. Can you do the same for her?"
Elysia had returned to the Honkai; she had truly and completely vanished in every sense.
I could summon Elysia right now!
But Lierre didn't say it so bluntly, so as not to ruin the lore she had crafted for herself.
Thus, she said with feigned difficulty, "It's a bit hard. I used your signet as a catalyst to summon you from the past. Although it wasn't the real signet, I could still successfully summon you. But Elysia's situation is special; it might require the real signet."
"That's simple. I'll personally help you fetch it!"
"Calm down, calm down. I know you're anxious, but don't be. My summoning has a certain cooldown period, so I advise you to stay calm!"
