Chapter 20 - Training Begins

Li Mingfu woke up early the next morning.

He stretched his body and quickly washed up.

He walked into the dining area where Little Flower and Little Moon had already prepared a delicous morning breakfast.

The three of them enjoyed breakfast together.

After eating, Li Mingfu brought them to the backyard training area.

He checked their cultivation.

Both of them had already formed five Qi threads, and their circulation seemed stable.

Li Mingfu nodded with satisfaction.

"Good."

"When you both reach ten threads, I'll teach you a secret."

The two girls immediately looked excited.

"A secret?"

Li Mingfu nodded.

"It will greatly improve your cultivation speed."

"But you must never tell anyone."

Both of them immediately agreed.

"We promise, Young Master!"

They were extremely happy.

Soon, they would share a secret with their young master.

Just having that thought made them focus and cultivate even harder.

Li Mingfu was about to leave when he suddenly realized something.

"Oh, right… I forgot to buy you two weapons yesterday."

He scratched his head in embarrassment.

"I'll go get them today."

"I'll be back before lunch."

Without waiting, Li Mingfu immediately ran off again.

He returned to Thousand Mechanism Peak.

This time, the Inner Sect guards recognized him and allowed him to pass easily.

Li Mingfu walked directly to the weapon shop he had liked yesterday.

Behind the counter stood a female senior sister.

He began browsing the weapons.

For Little Moon, he selected two well-balanced daggers, complete with sheaths and a belt for quick drawing.

They were good-quality weapons and perfect for practicing Shadowless Daggers.

Then he started looking for a sword for Little Flower.

There were too many swords.

He had no idea which one to choose.

So Li Mingfu simply picked up a sword… and flipped a coin.

Heads or tails.

He repeated this process over twenty times.

Finally, he stopped.

"This one."

It wasn't the most expensive sword in the shop.

But according to his heaven-defying luck, this sword was the best one for Little Flower.

After purchasing the weapons, Li Mingfu also bought a dozen durable training dummies.

Then he bought stacks of special paper and a Qi pen.

The pen didn't require ink.

Qi itself replaced the ink.

He looked around the shop again.

"I need some weights…"

But unfortunately, they didn't sell any.

Li Mingfu shrugged.

"Maybe I'll ask the forging elder next time."

Then he ran back toward his cave.

When he arrived, it was just in time for lunch.

After eating, Li Mingfu gave out the weapons.

Little Flower received the sword.

Little Moon received the daggers.

Both of them were extremely happy.

Li Mingfu began teaching Little Moon first.

He explained the fundamentals of Shadowless Daggers.

Quick draw.

Body posture.

Footwork.

Attack angles.

Then he handed her the Shadowless Daggers manual.

"Read and understand this first."

"Don't rush into practicing."

He then placed the training dummies around the courtyard.

After confirming Little Moon had no more questions, Li Mingfu turned to Little Flower.

Li Mingfu took out the sword manual.

"This technique is called…"

Blooming Lotus Sword Art.

He began explaining it.

"This sword technique is similar to Shadowless Daggers."

"It focuses on an explosive first strike."

"The goal is to overwhelm your opponent immediately."

"Cut down anything standing in your way."

The technique had five foundational forms.

First Form – Petal Draw Slash

A lightning-fast sword draw.

One step forward.

Draw and slash in a single motion.

It could also be used without stepping forward, though the power would be weaker.

Even though Li Mingfu specialized in daggers, he understood the principle.

After a few practice attempts, he demonstrated it clearly.

Little Flower began practicing.

After several tries, she managed to perform the draw properly.

Second Form – Falling Blossom Cleave

A powerful overhead strike.

The purpose was to break defenses and smash through enemy weapons.

It could knock opponents backward or shatter their guard.

It was especially useful if the first strike failed.

However, controlling strength was crucial.

Too much force left you open.

Too little made the attack useless.

Li Mingfu demonstrated the strike and explained its strengths and weaknesses.

Little Flower practiced until she understood.

Third Form – Whirling Petal Guard

This form focused on defense.

The sword spun around the body in a rotating motion.

It could deflect arrows, throwing weapons, and attacks from multiple angles.

Once Qi was added, it could even block ranged Qi attacks.

Fourth Form – Thorn Piercing Thrust

A straight killing thrust.

Direct.

Deadly.

Simple.

The goal was to pierce the heart, dantian, or any vital point.

Li Mingfu warned her.

"If you commit to this thrust… Do not miss."

"Missing leaves you completely open."

He demonstrated both rapid thrusts and powerful single thrusts.

Little Flower quickly understood the concept.

Fifth Form – Full Bloom Execution

The finishing move.

Step forward.

Three rapid slashes.

This technique consumed a lot of stamina but ended fights decisively.

It could also be used without stepping forward, but the power would drop.

Li Mingfu demonstrated the move once.

Then he let Little Flower practice while he corrected her movements.

Next, Li Mingfu prepared additional training.

Little Moon didn't require extra tools for dagger training.

But Little Flower needed strength training.

Li Mingfu cast a spell.

Slowly, pillars of dirt rose from the ground.

Then he struggled to create several stone pillars.

Since he was only at Qi Stage 2, the spell was difficult.

But eventually, he managed to create sturdy pillars.

"These are your training targets."

"Practice on the dummies first."

"Then test your strength on the dirt pillars."

"After that, the stone pillars."

"In the future, I'll get iron pillars for you to cut through."

Li Mingfu also gave them another lesson.

"I'll teach both of you how to maintain your weapons."

"Even if they break, I can always buy new ones."

He turned to Little Flower.

"You can also practice in the forest near the sect."

"But don't wander too far."

"Use falling leaves to train your speed and precision."

He looked at both of them.

"Leaving the sect often isn't safe."

"So I'll also teach you basic spells to use."

Finally, Li Mingfu concluded.

"First, master the basics without Qi."

"Then I'll teach you how to add Qi to your techniques."

"After that, there is something called Weapon Intent."

"From what I have read, it takes years to understand Weapon Intent."

"We'll talk about that later."

Li Mingfu then gave them one final reminder.

"I've already filled the food storage."

"There's spiritual meat, rice, and vegetables."

"Even if I'm not here, you must cook and eat."

"It will strengthen your bodies."

"And don't forget to eat fruit."

"Any questions?"

Little Flower hesitated.

"I… don't want to become muscular and ugly."

Li Mingfu burst out laughing.

"Don't worry."

"With the techniques I'm teaching, you'll still look beautiful."

"You might look stronger and less delicate than other girls."

"But that's a good thing."

He grinned.

"And if someone dares to make fun of you… You can just kill them."

"And if you can't, I will."

"No matter what, I'm here for you."

Li Mingfu didn't realize it.

But those words completely won their hearts.

The afternoon passed quickly.

Li Mingfu sat on a rock at the edge of the courtyard, watching his two maids train.

Little Moon tried to move like a shadow.

Her feet made a sound as she practiced her quick draws.

Again and again.

Draw. Reset. Draw. Reset.

She was very hardworking and dedicated.

Li Mingfu went over and gave her some motivation and reminders.

Afterwards, he went to observe Little Flower.

Little Flower was different.

She was focusing on power and accuracy.

Each slash of the Blooming Lotus Sword Art was not bad.

She did her best with every slash. The look in her eyes said she wanted to cut down all the training dummies.

Li Mingfu also gave her some motivation and advice and left.

He went to cultivate in his room.

After four hours of cultivation, he went down for dinner.

The two servants talked about their training.

Li Mingfu asked Little Flower.

"How was training?"

"This was the first time I actually trained. In the past, we only worked and cultivated. Having techniques, I am grateful, Young Master!" Little Flower replied.

Li Mingfu nodded and turned to Little Moon.

"How was your training, Little Moon?"

She sat there in silence, trying to eat her food, but failed to lift both arms.

"Young Master... my arms are dead..." Little Moon said.

He looked at her struggling to eat and laughed.

"Both of them?"

"Both of them," She replied.

"Little Flower, help feed Little Moon. We can't be wasting food."

He quickly ate and left to do his own training.

While Little Flower laughed.

"Little Moon, were you trying to get Young Master to feed you?"

Little Moon blushed and said.

"No, my arms are really dead. I can barely move them now. Did you notice while making dinner?"

Little Flower laughed again.

"I thought you were just trying to slack off. Here, let me help you."

"Thank you..." Little Moon said.

While they were eating dinner, Li Mingfu went to the public training field.

He went to practice the Shadow Drift Step.

Halfway through the night, he added Shadowless Dagger to his routine.

Li Mingfu ran through the training field while doing his Shadowless Daggers routine.

He focused on the Qi flow in each movement.

He planned to push his Shadowless Daggers and Shadow Drift Step to completion within 3 years.
