Chapter 11: Gacha!
After looking through the skill list I had found the three skills he was talking about and I understood what he meant when he said it would be a major blow against the guy.
Especially [Ultimate Skill: Gacha Thief].
[Ultimate Skill: Gacha Thief]
[Steal or copy one or multiple of any skill from anyone who has looked at you at least once. The more people you meet the less likely you will get the skill(s) you want. Cannot be used again on the same person. Can be used on multiple people at once. {The host could potentially pick up a cursed skill.}]
"So that's how he does it… That's why he has so many Ultimate Skills."
Dredan shook his head, "That's the main reason yes. But his other skill can do the same under the right conditions."
I narrowed my eyes in confusion until I thought about the other skill he wants me to steal.
'He must be talking about Geas.'
[Ultimate Skill: Geas]
[Sign a contract with others. This contract is tied directly to the soul. If a contract is broken then the recipient who has been betrayed can take anything from the betrayer.]
I saw this skill earlier but to think when it said I could take anything it even meant skills as well.
I looked at Dredan with suspicion.
"How do you know all this?"
Dredan just shrugged.
"I'm the god of knowledge. I know things."
I was still confused but I chose not to say anything more. Instead opting to grab the three skills he was talking about. Though I had to ask.
"Expanded world? What's with that one?"
Dredan went back to stacking books on the shelf and by now I was starting to question where all these books were coming from. This had to be the tenth book in the last minute alone.
Sadly I didn't get an answer to that last question. Only the first one.
"That particular skill is more complex but definitely useful, and stealing that one hurts him the most."
I tilted my head in confusion hoping for clarification.
"It's simple really. [Expanded World] will allow you to create and control an entire world within your mind. Nobody can reach it unless you say so. They can't leave it either."
Holy shit.
"Wait, how would this hurt him?"
Dredan looked at me in annoyance like he was explaining things to a child before he just sighed and began explaining.
Sheesh, sorry for not being as all knowing as you.
"That idiot had actually merged that skill with his soul and offered it to you. Take it and you will injure his soul. All of those skills he's stolen will be his downfall. Not only that, his treasures and whatever he had in the spiritual world will belong to you.
In a year or two some god in the demon realm will find that idiot still screaming in pain and devour him on the spot. Also, since it's a spirit world I will be able to stay with you at all times. I can even take my library with me."
What?! Holy shit!
I knew having a god for a friend would be useful but I wasn't expecting this!
If what he says is true then I will be free from any and all shackles this guy has put me in. Not just that, but I'll even get an insane number of points for mortally wounding an evil god!
"I would advise against claiming that skill right away. You could potentially destroy his other skills if you do." Dredan said.
I immediately took my hand away from the screen.
"Alright, let's take Geas and… Gacha Thief."
[You have gained +30,000 points]
Christ on a cracker!
Two more to go…
I kept looking at his skills wondering about the last one.
Three skills are gone from him so all that's left are Expanded World and…
[Ultimate Skill: Ant God]
[You become a god to all ants across the universe and beyond!]
I guess that explains the guy's obsession with ants…
"Do I really want this though?"
Let's keep looking.
"Oh, this one wow… No wonder that guy is a god. With skills like these working in tandem it's not surprising he was so strong."
[Ultimate Skill: Kinsmen]
[Direct descendants may at any time inherit certain traits from the original skill holder. This includes skills or bloodlines.]
Mix this with [I Eat And Then I Eat Some More] and [Ant God] and you could create a horrifying army of unstoppable ants. You could in theory create an ocean of unkillable ants.
Each one with carapaces made of whatever material they could get their mandibles on.
"Wait… Could I make my children immortal this way?"
"Unlikely. Lifeforce doesn't come from nowhere. There is likely a source that you have tapped into. I can't possibly know or guess what could happen if your offspring could gain such a skill but it's unlikely to be anything good."
I furrowed my brows and just shrugged.
That's a future me problem I guess.
Back to the list of skills.
[Salt maker] turns anything into salt. Nope.
[Lovemaker] can breed with anything by injecting the seed- Nope.
[Wall Breaker]
Huh… Sounds interesting.
[There are no limits to your power! Anything you thought was impossible becomes possible. As long as you believe it's possible.]
Strange.
That actually sounds a lot like my own skill, [Will Of The Universe]. Though this one is a little more vague.
I looked back at my own version and sure enough I couldn't spot the difference.
[Ultimate Skill: Will Of The Universe]
[The universe loves you! Wish for it and it will come.]
I've actually noticed how this skill works really well with [Luck Meter]. The only time I don't get what I want is when I'm not being more specific. Not to mention even I can't imagine something like a mountain falling out of the sky just because I spent a few luck points.
"Although… Maybe this could change that. After all, what if there was a dimensional collapse that just so happened to drop a whole mountain on my enemies head?"
I'm sold!
"Take these skills and hold on to them."
[CONFIRMED]
[You have gained +10,000 points]
I smirked.
"Combine [Gacha Thief] with my soul."
[CONFIRMED]
[You have gained +50,000 points]
"Damn. Why does that feel like heartburn?"
I ignored the feeling for now and moved onto the last one.
I now have [Geas] and [Wall Breaker] in reserve, and I gave the glutton skill to Ava.
So this last one will make five.
"Now combine [Expanded World] with my soul."
[CONFIRMED]
[You have gained +100,000 points]
I stood in excitement until the skill actually kicked in.
"Fuck that hurts!"
This is worse than the headache from earlier!
Of course Thomas was no fool. He knew that Wyrm would likely retaliate the moment such a soul crushing skill was taken away from him. So he made one last purchase.
"Spend 5,000 points!"
But in his heart?
'I want to make my soul strong enough to get [Geas] and [Wall Breaker] immediately!'
.....
The universe heard his cry… and made it happen.
