"Sleep all you want, sleepyhead… because after tonight, there won't be any trace of you left."
I said those words while looking down at my former bully, Ryan.
This guy made my school life a living hell—and if that wasn't enough…
He killed my dog.
Tonight was our class party. Everyone was there—music, drinks, laughter. The perfect place.
No one notices small things in a crowd.
I slipped the drug into his drink while everyone was distracted. After a while, he started feeling dizzy and went outside for some air.
Everything went exactly as I expected.
I followed him quietly and waited until no one was around.
Then I moved.
One hit from behind with my trusted hammer was enough. His body dropped instantly.
And now here he was… lying in front of me like a baby, sleeping peacefully.
How ironic.
I slowly put on the gloves I had brought with me and took an insulin injection out of my bag.
"Don't worry," I muttered quietly. "That calm face of yours won't disappear."
I forced the injection in.
The dose was more than enough. If anyone were to discover his body before decomposition, it would look like a medical condition gone unnoticed.
When I finished, I wiped the injection clean and packed everything back into my bag.
Then I carried his body to my car.
The drive took nearly two hours. I chose an old hunting ground far outside the city—no houses, no people, nothing but empty forest and barren roads.
The night was silent.
Only the sound of my engine breaking the darkness.
When I finally reached the place, I dragged Ryan's body to the spot I had prepared earlier.
A twelve-foot-deep hole.
Digging it had taken me days.
Without hesitation, I pushed his body into the pit. It hit the bottom with a dull thud.
Then I started filling the hole.
Six feet of dirt.
That was when the final part of my plan began.
I walked over to the bushes and pulled out the deer I had hunted a day before, its antlers cut off. Its body was already stiff.
If anyone were to discover it, they would blame poachers. The perfect distraction.
"I am a genius," I muttered under my breath with a faint smile.
I dragged the deer over and threw it into the pit.
After that, I finished covering everything completely. I even planted a small weed on top of the fresh soil.
Anyone passing by would see nothing unusual.
I stepped back and looked at the ground for a moment.
Then I sighed.
"Finally… it's over."
I packed up my tools and walked back toward the road where my car was parked.
The night was dark.
The road completely empty.
Not a single car.
Not a single sound.
I stashed everything into my trunk and walked toward the driver's door.
As I moved, something suddenly slipped out of my pocket.
A small coin hit the ground with a metallic *clink* and began rolling across the road.
I frowned.
I didn't even remember carrying it.
Still, I instinctively ran after it.
The coin rolled further… and further… until it finally stopped in the middle of the road.
I bent down to pick it up.
Suddenly, a bright light flooded my view.
I turned toward the source.
A police patrol bike.
It slowed to a stop nearby.
The officer sitting on it wore a white helmet. Beneath it, a blonde mustache and brown-tinted glasses were visible.
He stepped off and walked toward me.
"Evenin', son," he said, his voice carrying a laid-back Texan drawl. "You mind tellin' me if there's a problem here ?"
"No problem, sir," I replied with a polite smile.
"Well then," he continued, glancing around, "what's got you crouchin' in the middle of the road like that?"
"Just picking up a coin," I said. "My car broke down earlier, but I just fixed it. I was about to head out just now."
"Uh-huh…" he said slowly. "How 'bout I take a look at your ID? Won't be a problem, will it?"
"Of course not."
I handed over my ID and driving license.
He examined them carefully.
"Jay Woods," he read aloud. "Well, that's a fine name you got there, kid."
Then his eyes lifted to meet mine.
"You wouldn't mind if I took a quick look in your trunk too, would ya?"
He was definitely overstepping.
But I had no choice.
"Sure, officer."
I walked over and opened the trunk.
He bent down and started searching through it.
First, he picked up the shovel and the saw blade.
He noticed the fresh dirt.
"Been diggin' somethin', have ya?"
"No," I replied quickly. "Just used them for some renovation work at my house. Was about to return them."
"Mm."
He kept going.
Then he found the insulin injection.
"You got diabetes?" he asked. "And shouldn't this kinda thing be kept somewhere proper? Even if it's used… folks usually carry extras."
"Yes," I said. "It's used. I'll get more tomorrow from the shop ."
"Alright…"
He continued searching.
Next, he picked up the kitchen knife and set it aside.
Then—
He found it.
My trusted hammer.
A faint trace of wet blood still marked its surface.
He froze.
And in that instant, I knew.
His hand moved toward his weapon.
But I was faster.
I picked up the kitchen knife and plunged it straight into his chest
" AAAaaaaaaahh " he screamed like a dying goat
Everything happened at once.
He threw himself away from me and by then he had taken out his gun
And then—
"BANG!"
"BANG!"
"BANG!"
The shots echoed through the empty road.
Pain exploded through my chest.
I staggered.
Tried to move.
Tried to stay standing.
But my vision began to blur.
My body wouldn't respond.
The world tilted as I collapsed onto the cold ground.
The last thing I heard…
Was his voice calling for backup.
I tired to stay conscious but clearly i was losing control
Eventually my mind went to the thoughts of my family , who had wasted their live just so I could live and study well .
What would they think when they hear that I am a criminal who even tried to kill an officer .
I am such a bad son , I lied to them always just to see their smiles even though it was faint but now I have directly taken it from them
I'm… such a failure…
