Claudia suddenly smiled and looked towards the officer. "Sorry, Officer. It's just a mere joke. Don't you have a sister? Sometimes a sister fight is unavoidable, right?"
"Yes, it is a mere joke, and so was that slap just now. That's also a joke," Officer Brown confirmed, which sparked my outrage.
"What the fuck is this? This is blatant police corruption! I will report this to the police bureau!" I threatened, knowing for a fact that I had a weapon Claudia didn't. I wanted to say that I was Ray Gatlin's lover.
But Ray told me repeatedly not to make our acquaintance public, not even to Miles, because everyone's eyes would be on him, and it'd be difficult for him to maneuver around.
I really wanted to say it, but in the end, I held off and said, "My backing will fire you, Officer Brown!"
"I'm just doing my duty, Miss Reed. Please stop attacking Mrs. Claudia Hoffman if you want to save yourself."
