Chapter 168 - Chapter 168: The Fourth Generation

Today, the Walt family was immersed in a grand and special celebratory atmosphere because of a newborn member who had just entered the family and carried a symbolic importance unlike that of any other newborn, despite how many births already occurred within the clan.

In truth, the matter was not really about this child herself as an individual. Almost every week or even every few days new members were born from Dan's direct children or grandchildren within this enormous family that continued to grow at an astonishing pace. However, this particular baby carried a special meaning because she was, quite simply, the first official member of the fourth generation of the family. As such, she symbolized the prosperity, continuity, and ever-expanding growth of the Walt bloodline across successive generations.

For that reason, Dan personally ordered a large celebration to be held, gathering every member of the family together so they could all witness this memorable historical moment in the history of the Walt family.

And so, inside the grand ceremonial hall that had been built specifically for family gatherings of this scale, every member of the Walt family assembled from all three existing generations. At the front of the hall, seated upon an exquisite chair carved from red wood and decorated with intricate patterns, sat Dan. His gaze moved across his many children, his even more numerous grandchildren, and the bloodline that continued to expand endlessly before him. A deep sense of satisfaction and genuine happiness filled his heart as he looked upon the countless people who had all originated from him. He was the first source of this great lineage.

To Dan, an extended bloodline stretching across generations was also a unique form of longevity and immortality. Even if the original body eventually perished, one's genes, legacy, teachings, and influence would continue through children, grandchildren, and descendants for thousands of years. In his eyes, that form of immortality was no less meaningful than physical immortality itself.

After a few moments, Dan's oldest grandson stepped forward. His name was Jin, the son of Sam Dan's eldest child and the very first child born to him in this world nearly a century ago. In his arms, he carefully carried a newborn baby girl wrapped in soft light-blue cloth that matched the few delicate strands of blue hair visible on her tiny head.

Jin approached the platform where Dan was seated, then bowed respectfully.

"Grandfather."

He then handed the infant directly to Dan.

In truth, if an outsider unfamiliar with the family had witnessed this scene, they would have been thoroughly confused. How could a young man who appeared to be in his twenties address another man who looked even younger than him as "Grandfather," a title normally reserved for elderly men? Yet this was simply the reality of the Walt family. Their true ages bore little resemblance to their youthful appearances thanks to the advanced vitality seals that preserved their youth and strength.

Dan carefully took the infant into his arms.

Immediately, his wives gathered around him with excited expressions, especially Rin, who seemed happier than anyone else present. The little girl belonged directly to her bloodline, being the granddaughter of her eldest son and a continuation of her branch of the family. A deep joy shone upon her beautiful face.

Of course, Rin outwardly appeared no older than a young woman in the prime of youth. This was due to the first three vitality seals Dan had personally applied to her and the other wives. Later, he had further enhanced their effects through the Consumption Seal, which allowed them to absorb natural energy automatically. This dramatically increased the effectiveness of the vitality seals and extended their expected lifespans beyond a thousand years with ease, perhaps even much longer if they continued to train and grow stronger.

Dan looked down at the sleeping infant.

She already possessed the distinctive features shared by nearly every member of the Walt family the beautiful sky-blue hair and clear blue eyes inherited directly from him. Although the baby had not yet fully opened her eyes, their future color was easy to predict from the dominant bloodline traits.

After silently observing her for a few moments, Dan spoke loudly enough for everyone in the hall to hear.

"From this day onward, your name shall be Iris Walt."

With that simple declaration, the newborn officially received her name directly from the founder of the family and her great ancestor.

Smiles spread throughout the hall.

Rin quickly stepped forward and eagerly took little Iris from Dan's arms while wearing a broad smile.

In fact, this had already become a long-standing tradition within the family. The first child born in every new generation would always receive their name directly from Dan himself, creating a symbolic connection between every new generation and their progenitor.

Leaning back in his chair, Dan quietly observed the joyful and lively atmosphere surrounding him. The sight warmed his heart and filled him with satisfaction.

And he was completely certain that this beautiful scene was only the beginning.

The great Walt family would continue to grow larger and larger as time passed.

He had also recently decided upon several new regulations concerning the family's internal structure. Specifically, only the first five generations would retain the privilege of addressing him with familial titles such as "Father" for the first generation or "Grandfather" for the second, third, fourth, and fifth generations. Beginning with the sixth generation and all future descendants, the title used when addressing him would change to the more formal designation of "Family Leader."

He had also established a policy regarding marriage within the family.

Beginning after the fourth generation, marriages between members of the Walt family would be permitted. In fact, such unions would be openly encouraged as the preferred option in order to preserve the purity, quality, and strength of their bloodline while avoiding dilution through weaker or undesirable external genetics.

Of course, Dan had no intention of making this mandatory.

The family's orphan adoption program, which brought carefully selected children from the outside world into the family, would continue to exist. Over the decades since its creation, the program had proven enormously successful in numerous ways and had brought significant benefits to the family.

As the years passed after the program's establishment, many changes had occurred. Although Dan's eldest daughters, who had been born before the adoption program began, had never married, many of his younger daughters eventually did. Their husbands were carefully chosen from among the most talented and exceptional men raised within the family individuals personally selected and recognized by Dan as among the finest candidates available.
